I know Ireland aren't the strongest team right now but maybe there are some hidden gem in there that we can cast an eye over?

I know he's not gonna be there but the lad Evan Ferguson at Brighton is supposed to be an awesome talent.  Any more League Of Ireland players like that would be very handy.

There's a winger from Cardiff, can't quite remember his name, maybe he's a diamond in the rough...

Yep and that point was mentioned but the question remains - clubs get fined when it happens in their stadium so                 how do clubs stop it? Clearly the return of fencing fans in is not an option.

If the clubs are going to start facing harsher sanctions e.g., games behind closed doors, you can bet your bottom dollar that they will find ways of ensuring that mass invasions don't occur. I think it's a different issue to the occasional 'rogue' pitch invader, and we could all do a decent enough job of predicting the high-risk fixtures (e.g., 2nd leg playoff games, where the home team looks like they will progress), where warnings/resources targetting the above could be enhanced even further.

Not an easy issue to address for sure, but when are points deductions/closed stadiums sanctions actually imposed for such behaviours in the EFL, I can't recall any circumstances. So, arguably, there is plenty left in the 'sanction toolkit' for the authorities to utilise before entirely throwing our collective hands up in despair.

  3. I think it's the acts of those on the pitch, rather than the invasion itself per se that is the harm. If people continue acting like morons, when entering the FoP, then expect the authorities to come down harder on everyone. Some personal responsiblity needs to be taken, and therefore don't be surprised that a few numbnuts make it worse for the majority if officials/players etc continue to be attacked in their workplace.

    Exactly this

Talking of defenders we have been desperate for...if L. McNally plays for Cov tonight, you will see a player who I would to see us get our hands on; a real touch of class about his play. Incidentally, if Gus Hamer doesn't make the cut for Cov (?injury) then I think that makes 'Boro favourites (lump ya money on if such an omission occurs), despite the presence of Cov's other talisman, Vik G. Crazy to think that our former man Liam Kelly is a couple of games away from the Prem, although I suspect Cov will release him, in any event; potentially never truly got over the nasty injury he suffered with us, but certainly someone playing at a level maxing out their potential (so fair play on that account, when 90% of life is turning up, as they say). If it all goes tits up for Cov, then the other two worth a look are Calum O'Hare (no way we could afford him) and another old boy of ours...Mark Robins (just signed to 2027 with the Sky Blues, his assistant Viveash also great value).

Is there a less transparent football club in business right now?

How many times have we seen an announcement from their boardroom that contains the words "Can't talk about it", "Confidential" "Work going on behind the scenes", "Not in a position to announce" etc, etc, etc?

If you turn to google there are clubs up and down the country talking about stadium improvements and their web pages or at the very least the local press, can explain time lines, costings and the facilities that they are looking to create.

There are 86 Days, 4 Hours and 30 Minutes (give a take a minute or two) until the first EFL Game of the season kicks off at 15:00 on Saturday 5th August 2023.

In that time the sags have to:

Submit planning permission for their new stand.

Obtain Planning permission for their new stand.

Take down the temporary structure that is their two current stands

    Relocate their big screen.

Clear the ground for the new structure.

    Build the new structure

Build any associated facilities and services (catering, lighting etc)

Hold a test event to obtain a safety certificate.

When they talk about tight timelines they're not wrong.

Let's hope the rosy cheeked lady garden doesn't do them a dodgy deal again with any relocation/replacement.

    Why is it?

I haven’t read anywhere which states Wolves lead the race.

Personally, he can do better than Wolves. Do not think it’s a club that suits him. For the sake of his own career and progression. Hopefully Brighton lead the way.

I do actually have an independent source, which I can’t disclose ? I wouldn’t blame you for disbelieving a stranger on the internet though.

We are all devastated because we all know this Stadium is happening anytime soon, and again they will be coming for us.... By the time a new stadium is built for Rovers the majority of their fanbase will have left this Earth, and there isn't many more people left to come through the disabled gate, they are way too late to the party.

    Fixed that for you!

ℹ️ STATEMENT - FOOTBALL BANNING ORDER

    TUESDAY, APRIL 4TH 2023

A man has been banned from attending football matches for three years after magistrates were told he tried to headbutt a Police Officer following Bristol City's Emirates FA Cup tie against Manchester City.

Patrick Elkins, of Silverhill Road in Henbury, appeared in court in Bristol on Thursday, March 30th and pleaded guilty to a public order offence of threatening or abusive behaviour and one count of common assaulting against an emergency worker.

The 33-year-old was abusive towards Manchester City fans after Bristol City's Emirates FA Cup defeat to the Premier League side on Tuesday, February 28th outside Ashton Gate.

Elkins, when approached by officers, then made threats towards them before attempting to headbutt a Police Officer.

He received a three-year banning order for his offences, which prevents him from attending any match in the UK for the duration of the order or going to certain areas near football stadiums on match days.

Elkins was ordered to carry out 200 hours' unpaid work and must also pay £200 compensation, £114 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Dedicated football officer PC Thomas Williams said: "We welcome the court's decision to issue a football banning order following this incident. We are committed to working with all our football clubs and sports teams to ensure supporters can enjoy games without fearing for their safety.

"It is important to recognise however this FA Cup tie was played out in front of a full house with more than 25,000 fans in attendance. The irresponsible actions of one man should not overshadow the good behaviour of the overwhelming majority of supporters who contributed to a terrific atmosphere both inside and outside the ground.”

Bristol City Football Club condemns violence in any form as we strive to make matchdays a safe and enjoyable experience for all at Ashton Gate.

The Club have fully supported Avon & Somerset Police throughout the process and their decision to issue a football banning order.

The lawyer in me takes issue with the last para, the court - not police - issues a football banning order.

£Here are the fees paid to Agents by each Champ club.  Basically covers the period after the end of last winter’s window through to end of the window just ended.

City are 16th in terms of fees paid out £934k (£1.392m 21/22 -11th), which is moving in the right direction.

    Here’s Lg1.  What a surprise.

Derby and Ipswich well out of kilter with their division counterparts.

Seems disproportionately high for Fleetwood ?
