I think we're going to struggle to keep Gyökeres quiet, he's a great player.

Will be interesting to see how Bristol City legend Kasey Palmer performs. Also Todd Kane and Liam Kelly, both of which looked decent players when they played for us about 10 years ago.

I think Kelly is perma-injured, and KP often starts on the bench...sounds familiar eh. Their squad is threadbare right now, injuries + a small squad in any event, so we may well see Kasey from the start today.

Removing O'Hare is like removing their heartbeat and Hamer isn't having the best season either, so every little helps.

If that potential scenario doesn’t bear thinking about, there’s another one that doesn’t bear even speaking…..l

Thankfully, there's no way they will get autos and if they did (which I don't think they will) get into the play-offs, no-way will they beat any of those League-1 'big boys' at Wembley, even if they do keep the 'Boro lad.

So the Lansdown family weren’t involved in the appointments of Gary Johnson and Steve Cotterill?

As for the teams you think we are better than: today Blackpool got a point at Hull; Rotherham drew at home to Stoke (who beat us last week); Cardiff got a point at home to top side QPR; and Huddersfield won at Preston!  We’ve won one of the last nine…

I fear it is very difficult to conclude anything but that with Nigel Pearson at the helm we are going down (and sadly I suspect we will finish bottom).  At least a change of first team coach would offer us some hope, which is surely better than none.  Relegation would be catastrophic for us.

It's gonna be an even more bitter pill to swallow if Ipswich pass us coming in the other direction!!! Doesn't bear thinking about.

I would take Robins in a heartbeat but don't think it would happen.

I always wonder about that, because Cov - off the pitch - are an absolute basket-case, and seem to lurch from one crisis to another. On league position alone, I'd say we had no chance of attracting him, but if Cov don't get up this season (and we don't drop down to Lg 1), I think there are far worse suggestions...

What do we make of this then? Are we trying to move away from being associated with alcohol and hence rebranding?

At least we know this was one of the three not to get offered new terms & a contract, can tick off the list. Should help with FFP at least, another one off the wage bill; someone cleverer than me can tell us what impact it'll have with amortisation etc.

My feeling is he's someone who managers and players will like more than fans in that, based off the impression given by managers, what he does well is execute the manager's tactical plan is the way they want it implemented but without being especially spectacular in doing so. But you could say the same about Jordan Henderson, who was racked up over 300 Liverpool appearances, a Premier League and Champions League medal and an international cup final without most fans working out what he is good at. (Mount obviously has the Champions League win and tournament final appearance too).

In Bristol City terminology, I think he's a bit like Matty James. James' contribution during games isn't always obvious but it was very obvious how much worse we were tactically when he was injured.

Cole Skuse vibes, you don't make that many career appearances without being a valuable member of a team.
