  1. Haven’t seen it mentioned elsewhere- Port Vale have lost patience with the man who got them promoted a year ago.
  2. But we’ll be shiny happy people if he stays?
  3. I don’t understand why anybody thinks that should be given as handball. Yes it hits his arm, but it’s clearly totally accidental with no intent or even recklessness involved. He tries to head the ball, he doesn’t put his arm up in any way to try to stop the ball. Agreed the rules are a mess, but to my mind they are written to identify where there is an element of intent, without specifying it.
  4. The Derby games with Taunton Town and Bath City should be interesting.
  5. But if we lose or even draw, Swansea, Stoke and Hull could overtake us … down to 16th.
  6. Terry Cooper? Plenty of mentions for Hunter and Jordan, but Cooper could handle himself too. There were no softies in Revie’s Leeds. All hated at Leeds but strangely all became heroes at AG!
  7. Parallel to Yeovil who look like going to National League South, after being above us when in the Championship.
  8. I think it’s a bit odd for anyone to quote Oxford - a club that didn’t even achieve league status for the first time until 1962, and dropped out in 2007. I think it’s because people equate big clubs with important cities.
  9. Intriguing season. Most people’s favourites to be 24th before the season started, they had a spectacularly good start, but have steadily declined since. So it’s hard to say whether he over achieved or underachieved.
  10. We’re in quite good company anyway, as Arsenal also “threw away a two goal lead” this weekend. It happens to everyone.
  11. So, basically, three days ago we came from behind to win, then today we take a lead but end up drawing. And your response focusses on the “inevitable” throwing away of a two goal lead because you can remember us doing the same several years ago. But we’re not doing it often now, are we? As so many others have pointed out, you are being excessively negative.
  12. Incorrect. A deflection off the defender diverted it from his intended contact.
  13. Is someone born in Germany an immigrant?
  14. Purely based on who hasn’t been down for a while, Everton, Leicester and Southampton.
  15. And it’s Bristol City in the red shirts and white knickerbockers.
  16. I’m conflicted. Can’t stand the bloke but happy to see Huddersfield being turned round. Even I can’t deny he has a way of doing this, the nasty old sod.
  17. This sounds like it could have been written a year ago. This season he has been extremely reliable and those mistakes have been rare. Most fans seem to see him as possibly the player of the season, certainly one of them. I no longer worry when he's on the ball, the way I used to.
  18. Glad to hear it. I think he's a useful utility player; a lot of people seem to have been expecting a goal scoring striker.
  19. I think “hatred of women” is a bit misguided. Sticking to “traditional” gender roles was more of a factor. That and the point that women’s football used to be rather poor. The advances in the last decade are amazing - it’s really good now.
  20. Robbie Williams is of course a celebrity from Stoke, but he’s famously a Port Vale supporter.
  21. Might struggle with Atyeo in midfield and Wedlock up front. What the hell is Google Bard anyway?
  22. Looks like you should have saved that for your adult delinquent.
