  1. Asking people to pay him on Twitter for exclusive insights into the football world too - will his club be happy about this? Bit of a conflict of interests if he reveals what is going on inside the tents?
  2. I doubt any big transfer fees get paid up front do they? Probably all instalments, so a buying club will be looking at cashflow from incoming instalments on sales as well as the deal they can get on the timing of what they pay.
  3. Actually, having listened to it, they acknowledge all that and praise the job he’s done. Then, based purely on personal feelings, they decide he’s a bit dull and won’t progress beyond mid table. In fact they praise virtually every manager and don’t really explain their rankings at all well. There’s a schoolboy enthusiasm about what an unproven youngster like Rosenior might do. And they even put Bulut above NP despite confessing knowing very little about him, and admitting he has no experience outside Turkey. Not as bad as I expected them to be, but not to be taken seriously.
  4. Isn’t he the twonk who predicted we’d be relegated last season? On the basis of which NP clearly over performed.
  5. Which would mean he’d been in our team for two more seasons. Which wouldn’t be a disaster.
  6. Wow. Nothing like that where I am, and that’s only eight miles away.
  7. I think the main issue is whether he’d get to play. I doubt he’d be keen to kick his heels on the bench for his first season at, say, Spurs. We may see his future at the very top, but a smaller club like Bournemouth may very well be preferable in terms of immediate development.
  8. Odd that it’s all between 2014 and 2017. Six to nine years ago.
  9. But isn’t it like selling a house? Two buyers both want it and bid the price up until one refuses to go higher. Footballers aren’t like a tin of beans in a shop with a fixed price, are they? I agree we wouldn’t accept an offer then renege on it - gazumping - but why would we accept the first offer at our reserve price if we knew that higher bids were possible?
  10. I refuse to enter the ground through anything but a proper metal turnstile with a macho click and clunk mechanism.
  11. Why would anyone care whether a rhetorical question needs a question mark. No, sorry, that doesn’t look right.
  12. This myth about us paying £7M for him is very persistent.
  13. If that’s a foul, then it’s a foul every time two players bump into each other. Which it shouldn’t be, but that’s the way the authorities are taking us.
  14. Everything. It’s a play about Gareth Southgate’s time as manager and many famous players are portrayed. Saw it this week and really enjoyed it. Joseph Fiennes very convincing as GS.
  15. I’m sure many of us have been using our phones for contactless payments without ever having heard of NFC. Certainly applies to me!
  16. I think arrogant is as far off the mark as you can get. I think he had a bit of an inferiority complex from having little formal education and was obsessed with self improvement schemes. All the publicising of his odd learning experiences suggests to me a need to boost his self esteem. Just my opinion.
  17. Is Anime just a posh word for cartoon? Genuine question. It’s all animation, no?
  18. Any chance the Styles stuff could go in the Styles thread, to stop me thinking something is happening with Knight?
  19. The lack of knowledge from a guy with 41000 posts to his name on a football forum is breathtaking.
  20. Out of interest, why is the profit margin on shirts small? Not doubting you, but there’s a huge difference between what an unbranded nylon shirt costs in the shops and the outlandish prices for shirts with a club badge on them.
  21. So, who’s going to pay most, Riyadh Rovers or Wuhan Wanderers? If he has to go, we’re in the money!
  22. Disrespectful? How do you know it hadn’t been amicably agreed?
  23. What’s the actual source for this, rather than the “due diligence “ quoted by Iles?
  24. Did he? The story I read from him said Bolton had reconsidered their options after doing their due diligence. Whatever that means - medical, attitude, psychological- who knows?
