Am I the only one who is puzzled by his situation? And the lack of debate about it? What is this mystery bacterial infection, how did he get it, why does it possibly need surgery? Perhaps he has dropped off the radar because we haven’t actually seen him play. This illness seems potentially serious/lengthy yet isn’t really discussed. Or have I missed something?

Sure, but it would also be completely reasonable if he came back now and accepted the offer. But I’m sure he will now move on and better our reduced offer.

Tend to agree. Women’s football used to be very poor, but to my untrained eye it looks very similar to the men’s game now. Certainly the quality of some matches in the WC has been well above many I’ve seen at Ashton Gate over the last couple of seasons.

Obligated is generally considered an Americanism not used in formal British English, where we use obliged. But like so many others, we are slipping into using it more often.

The new owner seems to be an unknown quantity. It will be interesting to see if he is willing to put in funds to follow the Fruitihad dream and upgrade the team. And will Wael be sidelined now he’s just a minority shareholder?

I know it’s very early days, but when looking at the table today, I couldn’t help noticing that five of the bottom six clubs are from Yorkshire. Two are in fact among the promotion favourites (Boro and Leeds) while three are tipped to be near the bottom (Huddersfield, Rotherham and Wednesday). The only respectable outliers are Hull. It was only this that made me realise how tyke heavy the Championship has become - seven clubs out of twenty four. It will be interesting to see how this goes. Could we have an all Yorkshire relegation treble?

He always had ability on the ball - I suspect the gaffes were largely due to poor positional judgement. Presumably ironing that out is due to coaching.

I think the basic point about the boo boys and an irrational hatred dating back to his playing days is pretty accurate, to be fair. Not quite sure about the Trump comment! What does it even mean?
