  1. Moore is taller and they weigh the same, which I think you’ll find is “bigger as in physically”! Presence on the pitch has nothing to do with physical size, of course.
  2. But I don’t think that’s true of Gab Sutton. He knows his stuff, but is predicting some rapid improvements at other clubs while feeling we will continue to tread water. Personally I think he’s optimistic about turnarounds at eg QPR Hull and Birmingham, and wrong about us, but we’ll see.
  3. He can get really smashed on Bastille Day and have two weeks to recover.
  4. Legal tender has nothing to do with paying for goods. It only means that if you owe someone a debt and offer them to settle it in cash, they can’t sue you if they refuse it. A shop owner neither has to sell you the goods in his shop (see “invitation to treat” as discussed above) nor does he have to accept cash as a means of payment. Indeed, as in the recent TV advert, if he only accepts payment for a pound of potatoes in Bitcoin, that’s his prerogative.
  5. Hmmm. Taylor Moore us bigger than Kalas. Two inches taller, according to Wikipedia anyway.
  6. Absolutely. This is why browsing other forums is worthwhile. You get a better idea of the mood at clubs and the inside info than you do from the neutral (uninformed) media.
  7. On OTIB? Surely not? Isn’t a bus pass a requirement?
  8. Can’t agree, as Waltzing Matilda is a sort of informal national anthem. Mind you, why aren’t they the Sheilas? ?
  9. Still don’t know if this will be the first team squad playing.
  10. Good goal and a great result for them - but the match wasn’t a good advert for women’s football overall. If Norway are ranked 12th and there are 32 teams in the tournament, there are going to be some dire games.
  11. Very disappointing standard in the opening game.
  12. I think it depends on what you mean by spent; on transfer fees, no but on packages maybe. Remembering that a 3 year contract at £10Kpw will cost you £1.5M, a player bought for a fee of £1.5M is actually a cost of £3M.
  13. I think the sound of the O in Bristolian is the most Bristolian sound of all. If you get my drift. Nobody anywhere else pronounces a long O that way. I’m not from Bristol but living in Somerset and I think it’s unique.
  14. Wasn’t it orginally Brigstowe/Bristow, with the L added as in “good ideal” and eventually becoming official?
  15. I don’t think City said the fee is £25M. As I recall, we said he wouldn’t go for less than £25M and if the demand was strong his value would go up. That says to me that we want at least £25M but if there are multiple offers, the highest bid wins.
  16. “they are pretty unlikely to get in the playoffs “ Really? A club that finished eighth last season, one point off the playoffs? Why?
  17. We’ve had this one since 2018. Why change?
  18. Expensive, but appears to be the same as the top priced seats for home fans?
  19. We have two friendlies that day. Do we know if this will be the first team squad?
  20. I reacted to your first line that said West Ham won’t have £100M to spend. They will in profit terms, even if not in cash flow terms. They can spend all the Rice transfer fee, but or course won’t be receiving it all up front, so will have to buy according ly.
  21. Asking people to pay him on Twitter for exclusive insights into the football world too - will his club be happy about this? Bit of a conflict of interests if he reveals what is going on inside the tents?
  22. I doubt any big transfer fees get paid up front do they? Probably all instalments, so a buying club will be looking at cashflow from incoming instalments on sales as well as the deal they can get on the timing of what they pay.
  23. Actually, having listened to it, they acknowledge all that and praise the job he’s done. Then, based purely on personal feelings, they decide he’s a bit dull and won’t progress beyond mid table. In fact they praise virtually every manager and don’t really explain their rankings at all well. There’s a schoolboy enthusiasm about what an unproven youngster like Rosenior might do. And they even put Bulut above NP despite confessing knowing very little about him, and admitting he has no experience outside Turkey. Not as bad as I expected them to be, but not to be taken seriously.
  24. Isn’t he the twonk who predicted we’d be relegated last season? On the basis of which NP clearly over performed.
