  1. Unlikely. If they go into administration, the administrator would run the business and seek to maintain the income by continuing to receive income - eg the rent from the sub tenant (Coventry City). Looking at the CC forum, most of their fans seem delighted - though it’s schadenfreude as they loathe Wasps but have no idea what will happen next.
  2. They kept the real family surname - Jack Warner was originally Horace Waters!
  3. Sounds a lot like the football we were watching twelve months ago!
  4. Our players look poor, but there's some good play from the Man City side. In fact they were champions that season and within 2 years were League Champoins in the 1st Division, with quite a few of the same side. You can already see the potential of Summerbee and Neil Young.
  5. On my first visit to Barcelona I lost my match ticket like that! Normally I was quite careful with my wallet, but on a very quiet Sunday morning I put it in my back pocket. Fatal. Arrived at Parc Guell without my wallet, cash, cards and ticket. I don’t remember any close contact with anyone on the metro, as it was almost deserted. I had no way of getting a new ticket so ended up watching the match on TV in a bar.
  6. Surely throwing the ball down the line is actually a defensive tactic - ie it minimises the risk of losing the ball in a dangerous place. Throwing the ball infield maximises that risk. Free kicks are different because the opponent has to stay 10 yards away. I imagine all teams lose possession from throw ins at a fairly high percentage because of this. So a throw in at 90 degrees from the line is a bit like a sideways pass across the pitch when it is very crowded - risky.
  7. Their forum seems bemused too. It’s not often the club is more unforgiving than the fans.
  8. Based on that sole criterion, of course, Boris Johnson is a Yank and Cliff Richard is Indian!
  9. I spent my life hovering between telling people I’m “Half English Half Welsh” and feeling English. Father was 100% Welsh, mother 100%English, I was born (just) on the English side of the border in Shrewsbury, but only because the maternity hospital was there - we lived in Wales at the time, and until I was 10. I’m 66 now and have never lived in Wales since. It’s rarely straightforward!
  10. His comments are in fact pretty complimentary and balanced overall in this clip. And we simply don’t know whether our form will continue. Those taking offence are being a mite over sensitive, though I know this Dilks was convinced in pre season that we were relegation candidates, so he’s already changed his time somewhat!
  11. He was born in Taunton though, not Aberdeen!
  12. At least on that one the placket* doesn't go right through the heart of the design - on the City one it's right through the middle of the robin's head! Dire. * yes I had to look up the name of the opening thingy that the buttons go on.
  13. I'd argue that any significant news about other teams in our division is fair game for discussion. Probably more so than Tuchel, for example.
  14. Thank heavens the threads about the Gas and Derby petered out with so few posts, eh?
  15. To be honest I didn't even know we had a polo team. Where do they play? Where are we building them a stadium? Where will the poor ponies live - the Horsefair? Or the Hippodrome?
  16. I’m just relieved you didn’t retaliate by pointing out that I missed out the apostrophe in let’s! I’m just relieved you didn’t retaliate by pointing out that I missed out the apostrophe in let’s! PS - doh! doh!
  17. It sounds like Semenyo is the most likely to go. It appears Palace have a genuine interest in him and that it’s a move he would consider. Reports suggest his fitness was the issue in the recent window. If he stays fit, gets a run out for Ghana and has good form for us, they could well be in for him in January.
  18. Well no. You said he is now working hard and smart and indicated this was not what he was doing before. So you did imply that he was not working hard before - which goes to attitude. You may not have meant to say that, but that was how it read.
  19. I may not know much about football, but I DO know it’s “reining in” not “reigning in”. It’s a horse riding metaphor, not a ruling thing. Lets get the important things right, chaps.
  20. It’s been broken throughout the match.
  21. I didn't manage to see the game and so far have only seen highlights - all versions of which seem only to show our goals and none of the other chances we created. Looking at the OS, it has full match videos for a few games, but Wigan is the last. Have they stopped adding these, or are they just Sky games, or are there rights issues? It would be nice to see the whole game somehow, or at leat more than 8-9 mins of highlights.
  22. I don’t accept this at all. His attitude and effort have always been fine. He is a decent striker we have not used, or treated, very well. There have really been different arguments in the thread (and previously) 1 should we have bought him/paid what we did if we weren’t set up to use him properly. Well no. In that sense he was a poor buy - but he wasn’t at fault. 2 is he a sub par player who has been lazy and with a poor attitude? No. See above.
  23. Taunton win again - away - a big turnaround that has pushed them up to 9th in National League South. Look out Rovers.
  24. Radio Bristol saying we’ve been brilliant. Radio 5 saying it’s been a very very dull half!
