  1. So he was a well respected defender, but he couldn’t tackle, couldn’t pass and never crossed the halfway line?
  2. Only if the postie coughs through it!
  3. Are you sure? Is it on the OS? ?
  4. They’ve signed John Marquis. Somebody I’ve heard of!
  5. If he can’t cut out the errors in defence, he could possibly step up to CDM. He is confident on the ball and some of his best moments were surging runs upfield with the ball at his feet. Perhaps he could develop into a Pack type role, patrolling in front of a back four.
  6. “On paper”? He was captain of England U19s, playing for Lens and subject of a ten million Euro bid which Lens turned down. Presumably a few people outside BCFC thought he could play too. Sometimes you can’t tell how far a young player will progress. It was a perfectly reasonable purchase at £1.5M given the market at the time.
  7. Looking at other forums, Brum fans seem almost as glum as Reading’s, with Cardiff an honourable third.
  8. No, but some would welcome in a wealthy foreign owner without really knowing their background or underlying motivations.
  9. OK then, I’ll ask. How does someone without any form if computer get access to an Internet forum?
  10. My dad was Ted Morgan. Desmond Foster was actually a lovely bloke with a very dry sense of humour and they were good friends. I’d forgotten DF was City too.
  11. Good. Fair enough. A relegation was sufficient punishment.
  12. Apparently it does! I’d like to see the logic behind the club exaggerating the attendances. I know in days gone by we used to be sure they were understated, presumably for the taxman’s benefit.
  13. Wonder if Wigan….. will be erecting a statue in honour of George Orwell? Im enjoying these new all purpose thread titles.
  14. Will Hull ….…. be arranging an independence referendum next October?
  15. I’m shocked HMG didn’t get Birmingham City to give you a loan too. Terrible.

    Wimbledon

Terrific effort by Jubb against Kyrgios.
  17. Surprised to see that my house - on the edge of West Sedgemoor - looks set to avoid flooding. Only by about fifty yards though. If I make it to 95 I may buy a canoe.
  18. Brevity is your friend. Prolixity, on the other hand, May tend to delay the finalisation of your responses and fail to ameliorate the chances of your being first past the post in a competitive situation.
  19. Interesting. My Dad was actually deputy head there in that era, and a City season ticket holder.
  20. It’s not, but neither are they backtracking when it appeared to be out of date.
  21. Ipswich manager has apparently said they haven’t ruled out signing Bakinson. The deadline in their option hasn’t been reached.
  22. But you haven’t shared anything specific. I think that’s the point being made.
  23. What baffles me is how some people criticise the same bloke for a) wasting millions of pounds on players’ wages and transfer fees, resulting in huge losses and b) having a devilish master plan to buy a football club to further enrich himself. I mean, it would have been a lot easier to get into property development somewhere without a loss making football team snd stadium!
