Weirdly, up until Covid, Rovers 50/50 draw was extremely popular and was nearly always a 1k prize.

Then they stopped taking cash and a few sellers left and now it's around d £300

We had notice to say Ashton Gate Stadium had become a totally cashless venue. However, the 50/50 tickets are cash only.

I don’t know if the prize is paid out in cash……does anyone here know?

Not sure how this one slipped through the net…

After their much-lauded Pirates Pot venture failed to attract enough entrants to generate an actual winner, the recipient of the second-highest prize (an impressive £50) in the first draw turned out to be one of their star defenders.

That’s one way to save on the wage bill…

    Pirates Tin Pot surely?

What a great start for the snake

Also seen earlier they’re charging £36 adult and £32 for u18 for their games over Christmas period….wowza. Crazy how they need the money that badly when they’re the richest club in the world.

Maybe they need to pay the kids who put up the new stand?

That'll be because nobody has cash on them

Yep. No sales due to their very own policy.

They didn’t even drop their prices in a last ditched attempt to offload everything.

Would I rather the club have a tenner than some bloke I don't know then yes I would as that increases the amount we can spend on the team

Wouldn't you rather get £10's worth for your tenner rather than less than £5's worth?

Personal choice, get that. Wasn't judging you.

I fined cashless easier (but not really any quicker) but I always have some cash on me as I don't want a single point of failure, such as a phone battery being out of juice.

I'm probably hanging on to how we used to be. I've seen many occasions where modern technology has slowed down a process that used to be simple with cash payments.

The other week, one of the outside food outlets had a 'Cash Only' sign due to a system failure. There was no queue.

  7. Most of the food outlets don't accept cash, so I don't support them. There are plenty of (cheaper) alternatives outside the stadium perimeter.

In reply to the price of bottled water made by the OP...

Iceland sells 24x500ml bottles of water for £3.75.
Bristol Sport will charge you £69.60 for the same......an extra £65.85 !!!

It sure was. Thanks Bristol Sport for prioritising rugby over football.

Two consecutive days of lots of empty red seats, good work chaps.

Rugby and Football saw 36,000 over 2 days. The shop was busy yesterday, all the food outlets had long queues, and the Sports Bar was busy.

The money must be rolling in

Time a few of the squad start concentrating on being a footballer again and not attending every social event

I'm pretty sure that's part of the reason for poor results recently. They spend more time in front of the camera than they do in front of goal.

Has he mentioned "Huge club, massive fan base, took over 40k to Wembley"?😀

No, but he did come out with these two crackers today...

"Without talking at length about the neighbours [Bristol City] they've shown what is achievable of football clubs in Bristol and traditionally, historically, Bristol Rovers is as big a club as you get in this city."

"Bristol Rovers could become a bigger club and a sustainable Championship club."
