Me for one not being local but I still wouldn't rely on it. -

That's a hell of an assumption that Bristol 'live' have a proofreader. In the age of click bait it's all about how many articles you can get out the door and then before you know it it's half way down the page replaced by equally nonsensical might/could/maybe postulating nonsense. I really don't know why anyone reads local news anymore. -
Please put us all out of our misery (including him) and let him go. There was a potential player in there 3 seasons ago but he hasn't progressed and the ability to exploit potential has already been pushed to it's limits with seemingly no improvement.
-
Yeah I agree but I guess it's a balance he will have to make - 25k PW here not playing or likely 8k PW for next 3 years maybe playing, I guess it depends on what his expenses look like right now and if he can afford a more than 60% cut to his wages.

I echo that I think he has been hard done by us. There was a lot of shouting for a proven championship striker - we bought one and had no idea how to fit him in. Lesson learned - championship quality isn't always a good idea and the right player is more important than the best player. Selling him for free would be expected IMHO, it's his contract that's the problem and I can't see anyone taking him on without us funding some of his contract - not sure how to get past that.
-
I think if we sell this summer with 2 years left on his contract then it's £20m/£25m, if we sell next summer with 1 year left on his contract and a good enough season scoring say 10/15 goals and a good performance for Ghana then we might get £10m/£15m. No one is going to go for £20+m on a player with a year left on there contract. I think it's difficult but we are a selling club and now will be his highest value. The extra money does make him easier to replace as well although as already stated in not sure where we get that kind of powerful player from and we certainly need it.

Not a good last podcast of the season, I like FBC 75% of the time but I thought this one was a chance to reflect on how far we've come in the last year and it was a really negative focus on the 90mins without context almost like we should have been perfect, no one went into the game thinking we were better than Huddersfield and we got beat by them - nothing unexpected.
-
In terms of infrastructure it will take them at least 8 years to catch up with us if they start now so I don't see them as competition so I don't really care, I'm not even sure care is the right word - it must have been amazing to go up like that so I'm kind of happy for them. In comparison there best ever and worst ever days have been in the 4th tier, a league we have spent hardly any time in. We have spent the majority of our time in the last 20 years 2 leagues above them, Forest Green are more likely to get to be the local side joining us in the championship than Rovers.

Through gritted teeth ?.

Yeah a bit of sensible logic there - if we weren't so good we might have got relegated. Might as well have said if Peterborough had Fulham's squad they might have got promoted.
-
If people like it then I'm all for it, I don't see the enjoyment but if others like it then why not. Playing devils advocate could the same not be said for those that like to go on the pitch, it's what they like to do. I obviously don't agree with there fun ruining anyone else's but if everyone just stayed in the stands then there idea of fun would be ruined as well. Is there a solution that pleases everyone?

The Quality of the City Shop - again! Compare it to Hull’s
Pezo replied to Denbury Red's topic in Football Chat
I wanted to buy my 3yo a shirt but he's small so a 2 1/2 works, youngest we have is 5yo (outside of babyware) which looks like a mess on him. We go to football practice every week and there are kids with villa, man U, Chelsea, arsenal, Sunderland kits on and have clearly already been exposed and indoctrinated to the clubs there parents profess to support but me as someone who has watched city home and away for 20 years can't get a shirt and stick it to the other parents about what real support of a club is like. -
Can easily see one of the relegated sides wanting him.
-
You must have that wrong. I thought they had assembled the best squad ever at that level, surely winning the league by a record amount was a forgone conclusion.
-
Does anyone actually enjoy watching the player walk around the pitch and clap the fans? I don't see the enjoyment personally. I suppose we can say at least there was no malice in it, it was tinpot though to run on a pitch to celebrate being what 17th!
-
I knew someone else would do it and I wouldn't have to. My money was on you @Davefevs but piped to the post by @ExiledAjax. ?
-
It wouldn't have changed the end result IMHO, we would still be safe in this division but maybe with a few more points. With our financial situation it makes sense to move him on.
-
Is that a prediction?
-
And I'm sure she thanks that's value for money.

I would argue that most of our players would have enjoyed playing for Luton more than us, I would also argue that most of them would have enjoyed playing for Wigan more than us. Take the rose tinted glasses off and what this is basically saying is that any player playing for Cardiff/Preston/Hull/Birmingham should think about turning down a move to a lower prem side and continue playing for there existing club because the "grass isn't always greener" - the grass isn't particularly green here in realty.
-
Do you think any of our players have actually enjoyed this season?

photos from Derby, returning to Bristol with another double

I think you went to Sheffield to catch the train to Newcastle to take a picture of the airport to catch the flight back to Bristol to catch the train to Derby. -

So what we're saying is that derby got relegated because of a lack of bins around the stadium. -

It was a poor game at Taunton TBH but was all about getting across the line.
