  1. Think you may have also said you don't rate Pack mate!

    Or Cotterill !!

    Lets see.

Ha ha, yeah, not sure I've mentioned Pack before buddy. ;)

For what it's worth, if I had my way Pack would be at this club longer than SC.  But we'll see on that too!

Credit where it's due, if we pull off the unexpected 3 points tonight then well done all - and that includes SC.  I don't want him to fail, he's in charge of MY football club.  I just don't think he's my kinda bloke or my kinda boss.

p.s. any spaces left on your Shropshire trip?

  2. To be fair we've got lots of goals from corners recently. With JET, Reid and now Pack taking them. Good to see some kind of improvement in that department.

We have indeed.  I noticed it was the Carlisle game where Pack was first allowed to take corners - he took a couple from the left, bang on the money, which created a consistent period of pressure.  This resulted in another corner from the right which JET put in for the first goal.  A 2nd soon followed.

Pack was then taken off corners again next game?  JET from the right, Pack from the left, inswingers on top the keeper - that's what you want.  Reid doesn't take a great corner.

  3. Wade Elliot and Jet in centre midfield ?? Pack going to be busy ... Or is the lineup going to feature something cunning

    Mmmm...that's what I was thinking.

Strange looking line-up.  Midfield looks like it'll get annihilated.

Very attacking though, so maybe it'll surprise?  I had a strange feeling today that we might get something here tonight.

As I type, we've scored!!!!  YES!!!

  4. Interesting to see that Kusunga and Clarke-Harris are on the bench for Oldham as I thought they looked their best two players earlier in the season.

This Wilson fella must be useful to put Kusunga on the bench.

Exactly why I call it a gamble. People have ranted for Burns to start and Barnett to start instead of JET so let's see if they're embarrassed at the end of it because IMO i wouldn't have started either o them. Will be delighted if I'm proven wrong

Personaly i would swap el-abd for Cunningham, and put Cunningham left-back and switch williams to centre back

Agree with all 3 of these posts.

  5. I think SO'D spoke a good game tiz, but not too much evidence on the pitch.

In the final analysis he was damned by the team's appalling record under his management.

Imo he didn't have alot going for him from what we saw, however tactically astute he may have appeared from his programme notes etc, he was clearly incapable of putting it into practice at AG - similar to the brick wall he hit at Doncaster.

Not being backed by the owner from DAY ONE probably didn't help.

  6. Never said he has substance Harry, honestly don't know. But bluff and bluster is at least more interesting than the shite from O'Boring.

I'd argue the crap from O'Bluster-Driscoll was bluster, he said we were going to do this and that but it would take years "because of the years of under achievement". **** me forget the excuses in advance just get on with it - Crawley are above us for ***** sake.

And the football is infinitely better, surely you agree that? If not you need to watch an O'CoverMyAssWithBollocks game sober mate.

You know I can never watch sober mate!! :drunk2:

I will agree that the games v Stevenage & MK Dons were both entertaining.  But so was the home game v Bradford, and the one v Orient, and the one away at Cov.  All very entertaining games I thought.  And the one away at MK.  And away at Carlisle.

The 2 games this week seem to have been entertaining more for the fact that the opposition were much better than us and could score at will.

  7. Not all 'anti Sodites', as you call them, are confirmed 'Cotterettes', as you (somewhat strangely) call them, many of us are keeping our powder dry and watching his progress closely, hoping to be persuaded he is the right man.

Seeing the team showing heart, fight and real passion is what many of us will need to see to become 'Cotterettes', and if he gets that response regularly we'll hopefully be - just about -  alright.

If we go down again with a similar lack of fight to that displayed by SO'D's team I doubt you'l find one poster on here defendiing Cotterill.

I'm glad you feel this way Noggers.  Believe me, many don't.  And their hypocrisy will come to bear.

For what it's worth (and I admit it may not seem that way judging by my recent comments), I also have been keeping my powder dry and hoping to be persuaded he is the right man.  I'm not seeing it so far though, but I'll keep looking.

  8. The reason people will forgive Cotterill more easily than O'Dreary is he's got a personality and we are playing football which is 10 times as attractive, win or lose.

That's not having it both ways mate that's having what we want, entertainment.

I would have ditched my season ticket if O'SafetyFirst had stayed.

I'll stick my neck out and say that Cotterill doesn't have personality.  He has bluff and bluster and very little substance.

And I will stand by that.

  9. It wasn't just this season with SO'D.

The club was dying on his feet with him as manager, twenty five hundred STH's had given up the ghost and stopped attending.

As well as all those who hadn't renewed due to the disgraceful lack of fight shown by his players in the act of ignominious relegation.

He absolutely HAD to go, his negativity was strangling the club, and a downward spiral seemed certain to continue.

Whether we've got the right replacement is another matter which only time will prove one way or another.

And this is where the anti-Sodites and Cotterettes will be seen to be hypocritical.

SOD came in half way through a transfer window with no funds provided to him, with a team in 24th place and 20 games remaining.

Cotts came in 4 weeks before a transfer window, with funds being promised, with a team in 23rd place and 28 games remaining.

The anti-Sodites blamed SOD for our relegation last season.

If we get relegated this season, the Cotterettes will still blame SOD, even though he has taken over a team better placed, with 8 more games and more funds available.

  10. There is a reason for that mate

Yeah, I'm in no way defending the previous Manager and his poor record - it is quite indefensible.  But, had Fielding not had that mad moment v Bradford, Fonts not effed up a simple ball over the top v Cov, Baldock slotted into an empty net away at MK, Balders again put his chance away at Gills, Flint not passed it to Lee Hughes at Vale, Waggy not unnecessarily bundled over his man in injury time at Crewe then SOD might easily have had an extra 10 points on the board and things looking healthier.

I've mentioned many times during Sod's reign how the player errors were telling - and that it was the more experienced players making these errors, but it was a futile argument according to most on here.

All's I'm now suggesting is that the anti-Sodites bleated on and on about Sod being responsible and yet now all we're hearing from the Cotterettes is how the players individual errors are to blame, when in actual fact, the situation is exactly the same - ergo, was a change at the top necessary?

Folks on here can't have it both ways - either the players are at fault or the manager is at fault, not one or the other depending on who you like.

  11.

Too early to write off SC, tbh it's hard to see how the manager can be blamed for players making continual cock-ups at the back and missing sitters up front. My only gripe with SC thus far is the signing of El Abd - which is looking like really bad business.

Well, SOD got carted out because of this.

It's been the same story all season.  We generally put in a decent performance, but either miss sitters or concede idiotic goals.  One Manager has been blamed and sacked because of it, whilst the other Manager is having the blame passed on to the players.

    BRADFORD CITY:

    1, Jon McLaughlin
    2. Stephen Darby
    4. Ricky Ravenhill
    7. Kyel Reid
    9. James Hanson
    11. Garry Thompson
    16. Carl McHugh
    18. Gary Jones ©
    22. Matthew Bates
    23. Rory McArdle
    27. Oliver McBurnie

    Interesting.

I mentioned on here the other day Noggers.  May just be a coincidence, but their poor run of form has coincided with Matthew Bates being in the line-up after Andrew Davies got injured.

    With Davies - Won 6, Drew 3, Lost 1.

    With Bates - Won 0, Drew 6, Lost 7.

  13. That'll probably be  Scott Hogan who scored on Saturday..he has been talked up by myself and others on this Forum.   He is 21..and a potential Championship player, I would like us to have signed him, but maybe outside our price range..shame, as he is a young up and coming striker who might become very good.

And the Kidderminster lad will probably be Joe Lolley.  Someone we should also be sniffing around.

  14. Not according to Harry's post.

That was according to the County commentator.  I think they were expecting about 5 minutes for the Liddle injury earlier in the half, so when the board showed 2 they were narked!

The 2nd injury occurred within the injury time, so in the end he played about 2 and a half minutes when he should have played about 5.

Sounds like we're really getting under their skins - we've become a dirty team overnight!!!!

  15. Looks like we're getting the little bit of luck that has deserted us for a long time.

I'm listening to the Notts County commentary and they're a pretty livid bunch!

Sounds like we weathered an early storm before we managed to crock one of their best players without even a hint of a booking, we then get what appears to be an incredibly lucky penalty, and then manage to crock their striker too.  The injuries totaled about 12 minutes and the ref added on about 4!!  I'll be amazed if he doesn't add at least 10 at the end of 90 mins - if he doesn't the County commentator will blow a gasket I think!

They're saying that if the ref gives the penalty then he'll be giving one at every corner.  Sounds VERY soft.

I'm pleased that Reid & Pack have been brought back in and pleased that we're up at half-time.  All I'll say is that it appears we've ridden our luck a little in terms of the penalty and the fouls/injuries.

Seems as if 'Cotts' has instilled an 'edgier' attitude to some of our lads!

  16. I find it amazing how the board bottled the press conference for 'Cotts' because they'd received a bit of stick for sacking SOD.

Nothing like sticking to your guns, eh!  Backing your decision, fronting up.

Of all the things going wrong at this club over the last few years, this is the one I find most laughable, and most unacceptable.

Dawe - Harman - J Lansdown - Arathoon : YOU made the decision to sack SOD.  YOU made the decision to appoint 'Cotts'.  YOU should be bold enough to stand by your decisions, not wimp out and hope it all goes away.  Have courage in your convictions.

This is the most yellow-bellied action yet from this as yet unproven group of men.  I'm appalled by this, I really am.

  17. Ian Holloway is a Bristol Rovers fan who has openly stated his hatred of Bristol City Football Club and it's Supporters.

Hopefully that should be enough for us to make up our minds on this one.

Taking it to the extreme, I wouldn't expect President Ahmadinejad of Iran to rock up as the President of the USA any time soon!

I'm not sure a lot of our fans truly "get it" here.

Of all the people I personally know who are City fans (and I'd safely number that in the 200-300 bracket, maybe more) I don't know a single one who would attend Ashton Gate if this maggot was in charge.

Call me small-minded or whatever you want.  He hates City, and I despise him.  Not just based on his footballing persona/history/allegience, but I have had personal dealings with the maggot and I can safely share with you all that he is a 100% confirmed a-hole.

    Hope that's clear.
