  1. Really poor today in what was a BIG game.
Really didn’t lay a glove on a poor Sutton side.
Most interesting thing about the day was Sutton’s little youth mob having 2 nicked inside the ground and then also trying it on outside afterwards.
    I did chuckle.
But that was a poor effort today. The team looked tired.

I don't think I'd pick either to be honest! Don't think Henderson is really pulling up any more trees at Ajax than he was in Saudi Arabia, though appreciate Gareth does like a holding midfielder so he has to take someone. Be great if we had another solid option at CB so Stones could play DM regularly/ when injury permits.

    I agree. I wouldn’t pick either.
But if I HAD to choose one, it would be Henderson above Phillips

Phillips moves on loan to another Premier League team where he's starting semi regularly (more so than at Man City anyways!) and he's instantly dropped. Don't think we need him particularly, but I'd rather him than Henderson either way

    Not sure on that.
Its correct that Phillips isn’t in the squad as he’s been horrendous.
But if I had to choose 1 between Phillips and Henderson, I’d pick Henderson every day of the week.

I am sorely tempted to take the kids this Saturday.

@Harry don’t suppose you’d be kind enough to mark up on a map where your little lane is, for a quick getaway.

     Nope 🤣

    it’s very limited availability 😀

    Think you’ll be left with:

    23 home games starting point.

    5 midweek games.

    That leaves 18.

First game and last games likely to be moved as theirs televising each game, so can’t be 3pm according to blackout.

That leaves 17 as you’ll only be home one of those 2 games.

Then Boxing Day and New Year plus Easter (x2) are being televised, so 2 out of 4 will be moved.

That leaves 15 on Saturday at 3pm, of which 5/12 on average will be moved, say 6.

That leaves 9 Saturday 3pm games.

Happy for others to query the maths.

This is just nuts isn’t it!
my break even is about 17 games.
I will always miss a couple here or there (missed the last 2 due to the early kick offs), but I’m always willing to take a hit on missing a couple.
With this new schedule, I know for absolute fact that I’ll be missing more than a couple.
Night games are already a ballache to get to and I’m often 50/50 an hour before but end up going anyway.
With my break even at 17 games, and the fact Tinnion’s picture has made me sick and confused, this year I am seriously considering what I’m gonna do!

Membership and about 10 POTD games looks much more likely right now.

    Where do you park Harry?

I used the park and ride. It worked well going up to the ground, but we were left queuing for 20 mins afterwards to get back down the hill of doom....

I come in from Charfield, drive down the country lane through Nymptsfield and park on the side of the lane. So I don’t even make it as far as the little roundabout outside the ground.
20 minute drive, 1 minute walk. Nice and easy.

But I am also in the pub trade, so need some notice.

The football gods seem to be spurning me. 🤣

……..Except I’m in Charfield and wouldn’t be passing through Clifton.
If you could get to Yate or Thornbury I’d happily give you a lift

I was just thinking the same, more appealing than watch us likely get comfortably beaten as usual at West Brom.

    See you there 🤣

Do you know, the most surprising and actually quite disappointing thing about those figures is that we only have 973 season ticket holders between the age of 19 and 24!!
That really doesn’t seem like a lot.
When I was a ‘young adult’ my Saturdays were 100% all about City. And there seemed to be lots of people of my age at that time.
This really doesn’t seem like very many, in what would usually be an age group likely to be the more ‘boisterous’ and likely to create atmosphere.

    @Harry

Reyes made an excellent penalty save against Walsall at a critical point of the game, as well as 2 x 1 on 1 saves.

He's quite small, but a excellent shop stopper at that level.

Bunker played CDM against Walsall, wasn't great and was subbed off after 58 mins for Omotoye (who went on to win the penalty, that was never a pen.. 🤣)

With two really good runner in Doidge and McAllister up top (alongside Omotoye), Cotts has really given them a chance of staying up.

Playing Sutton at home this weekend, massive game... C'mon Cotts.

Yep. I watched the Walsall game back on EFL TV.
Reyes did make some good saves and of course the penalty, but he just scares the hell out of me when the ball is on the air.
Bunker is usually played at DM and is usually technically good but does have the odd lapse. His size is useful though. Cotts has played him at RCB in most games so far but he does change it up and puts him back into DM too. Versatility. He’s had a good season to be for to him.
Doidge has made a good impact up top - as you say, more as that willing runner as much as anything. McAllister is the most technically gifted player they have but he does need to get his head up sometimes.
I’ve been pleasantly surprised by Osadebe too. Wasn’t sure about him when he signed but he’s putting in some bloody good shifts and was good defensively last night too.
Cotts definitely had them organised and playing for each other (and basically playing for their league status).

Yep. Huge game this week v Sutton. I’d usually only do FGR if they kick off at a different time, but this week I might forego watching our stream v West Brom and head up the road for Sutton instead. Huge game.

  10. Currently on Talksport is the ex Liverpool CEO Peter Moores.
He briefly mentioned about whenever he  visited Crystal Palace and how welcoming and what a good guy Phil Alexander was.

But we ditched him of course.

I thought he said that he was the best YOUNG player in Ireland.  I stand to be corrected but that might explain why the 18 year old player has not been pushed straight into the first team to save our season.

No one is suggesting anything about him being in the first team.
Just showing some concern as to why he’s had 4 and half months off and not even a single minute for the 21’s.

I wonder if the South Stand kids pricing will be altered. It’s been a bone of contention on here that there are so many empty seats behind the goal (essentially the ‘home end’ is half empty most games).

What the keeper like (Vincent Reyes)?  I’m hearing good things.  He’s on loan from Norwich.

    27 minutes ago, BCFC_Dan said:

He looked a bit nervous and inexperienced but far from hopeless. Long shots were handled fairly cleanly but he chose to punch most aerial balls away which, although he did effectively enough, didn't do a lot to relieve the pressure the team was under. His kicking from hands wasn't as accurate as it could have been, but it was more a case of going too long than anything else, and with FGR up against it there were limited options for him to pick a pass.

I was impressed by their young defender, Harvey Bunker. He looked physically strong but also seemed to have good intelligence and positioning.

    Good summary Dan.
Dave - the keeper, Reyes, gives me butterflies whenever the ball goes near him.
He did pull off a couple of good close range saves but when the ball is in the air, I am hiding behind the sofa!

For reference, it was his awful flapping that led to the late Wrexham equaliser last week.
He seems to play very well and then make a complete blunder.
FGR have really struggled for a decent keeper since their promotion year (and they’ve signed about 6 of them since then!!)

Regarding Harvey Bunker - Dave and I have had a number of conversations about him.
He’s always played as a DM but Cotts has moved him to LCB in a back 3 and he’s been solid there. As you say Dan, he got in the way of everything last night and was brilliant.
Cotts then reacted to their half time subs and moved Bunker into midfield again to counter Jamie Walker coming on. And he did his job there too.
I like Bunker - he’s a neat and tidy player with a good heart and desire.

    ⬇️⬇️⬇️

As I said last night, LM’s Cardiff press interview, suggests he’s not just doing a pre-season.  If he was, he’d have been shown in the video with Stokes.

    Here’s the transcript.

    IMG_0021.thumb.jpeg.1d654f126721da40122a69626c3481a7.jpeg

Basically, LM and BT are not aligned, one is trying to brush it under the carpet as pre-season, the other is trying not to give too much away.

You can form your own opinion on it from what has come out.

My opinion is that he’s picked up some form of injury / issue.

    +++++

But I don’t think it’s another Levi Ives situation! (You’ll need a good recall for that one)

    Ha ha. Levi Ives mind!
Now that was one bizarre episode

The easy answer is playing in the championship vs league 1.

But I agree, been with us since January. If two months of a “pre season” isn’t even enough to make the bench for the U21’s, let alone the first team, then surely questions need to be asked.

I would have thought 30 min cameos for the U21’s would do him the world of good.

Your easy answer though isn’t even what I’m looking for.
If one of them has managed 10 league 1 appearances, how come the other one hasn’t even managed a minute in the 21’s?
I’m not at all bothered about first team bench. Just at least some minutes at any level please.

I can’t fathom how someone can be on a 4 and half month pre season. I think we are being lied to. Again.

  16. Tinnion tells us he was the best player in Ireland.
He also tells us in yesterdays interview that he hasn’t featured yet as he is still in “pre season” as the Irish league only finished in November!!

    November mind!!

His last game was 3rd November. So he’s had 4 months and 10 days off so far.
This would be the equivalent of it now being 18th September if you take the same number of days since we ended our season on 8th May.

Interestingly, the other “best player in Ireland” (my opinion), Jack Moylan, also finished on 3rd November but has now made 10 appearances for Lincoln. They gradually integrated him and he’s now started the last 2 and scored 4 goals. A couple of ‘wow’ goals too.

Anyway, my point is, 2 players who finished the Irish season on 3rd November. 1 has now made 10 league 1 appearances, the other is so-say still in pre-season and hasn’t even had a single minute for our under 21’s.

What’s REALLY going on with him?? Is Brian telling us porkies again. There’s no way this kid is still in early pre season mode. Why has he not played a single minute for the 21’s at the very least??

Maybe they did take it to Boots and got handed my missing holiday snaps from Corfu 1991!

I miss the embarrassing visit to the photo shop, wondering if there is anything rude/incriminating on my holiday snaps and getting funny looks from the staff 🤣

    Weird isn’t it.
Why would they take the squad photo on 27th Feb (6 months late) and then wait another 2 weeks to publish it??
It’s not like it has to go to the printers to get developed these days!
I find this all very very odd

  19. It appears as though Cornick still had his moustache in this photo.
When did he shave it off, was it prior to the Shef Weds game?
This photo was not taken in the last few days, maybe even the last couple of weeks.
Which makes it even more odd as to why now?
