Not at all. Didn't say he was shit. He didn't want to play for us so we made £8m profit on him....because he hit 20 last season obviously. I'm starting to think that people seriously expect us to challenge for promotion this season.......mental.

Then why bother pointing out that he was offside 20 times then? I think we will end up mid table personally and always did, I never mentioned where we would end at the end of the season. Anyway we scored now so hurry up and rub it in.

I'm not defending SC, just stating it as I heard it - which was different from the other poster.

My view is that the players aren't stupid and know that the squad needs strengthening throughout anyway but I wouldn't expect SC to say "we need to improve on what we have in midfield" for instance. Sends out all the wrong messages.

I wasn't having a go mate, just responding to the quote.

If telling the players to buck up their ideas or they will be replaced is the wrong message though, what messages are they getting from the management team at the mo??

    Another view;

He said he thought we played better football than them second half.

He alluded to his players not wanting to read about their manager signing players to replace them. In that respect, he wouldn't give anything away regarding that.

Heaven forbid our players get wind of any new players coming in, this could upset our current form and nobody wants that. If I was him I would be singing the names of any potential new players, maybe then the current squad would get the required rocket up the bum they need!!

I don't have much to add to the statement on the website.

However I completely understand the frustration and anger expressed in this thread, in the many emails I've received and on twitter. I will make sure that all your views, and those of the many other fans who have contacted me, are passed on. We need to make sure this never happens again.

We seem to have heard this hollow statement more than enough times this season. Not you fault Dave but should never have happened in the first place.

What I don't get is that we are supposedly a professional football club, that didn't have a full grasp of our own fixture list and what rules surrounded the changing of the fixture. All a bit amateurish don't you think?? I would not expect this from a sunday morning club.

  5. Dave L going to defend this or what?

Sick to death of the silence from the club on yet another **** up

How could he?? Its probably better if he says nothing as that seems to be the norm when the club overlook the most important people that are associated with the club....the fans. Its beyond incompetent to know about this fixture for the whole season and then change it on a whim so close to the original fixture date.

  6. ******* working Friday not happy is an understatement.

Same, I had arranged to have the saturday off as well, Im sure the club will be compensating us season ticket holders who have known about this game since the start of the season and planned accordingly only for them to have a brain fart the week before the game. Im sure those poor players need the extra 24 hours off from their busy working week love em!!

  7. Why would you measure a striker on assists you clown?

I measure a striker at the end of a season on goals. SB is on course for 20+ which would be a phenomenal return given that we are looking at the real possibility of a relegation battle.

What would you measure someone who plays off of the striker ie jet, as a phenomenal return in terms of goals and chances created/assists given that we are looking at the real possibility of a relegation battle??

  8. Who is to blame for the 2 concede then?  if we hadn't we would have won 2-0!!

Sorry but that's utter crap, I won't slag off Baldock because he scored 2 albeit simple goals today but if he had taken the first 2 chances instead of his last 2, we would have taken 3 points today. What people seem to forget is that as a defender you can't take back a mistake that leads to a goal or 2 once they have been scored. As a striker it seems ok that you can miss a hatful of chances as long as you make up for it in the second half. Baldock put extra pressure on the defence today by not taking at least 1 of the 3 guilt edge chances he had in the first 15 minutes. At say 2 or 3 nil people could forgive us conceding the first goal but at 0-0 its magnified 10 fold as the reason we didn't get 3 points imo.

  9. With respect, the formation change would hint that yes, that was what was needed in the opinion of the manager.

One moment of individual brilliance does not mean our first half was acceptable. The score never tells the full story and thankfully SC seems to have addressed that for the second half.

We won the first half comfortably, we are winning this half comfortably, don't know what there is else to say to be fair. You seem to be able to find fault with whatever happens so carry on regardless.
