It seems Johnson picks a specific team to combat his opponents in a certain way.
Pro - that tactic can work, though often for only a limited time.
Con - lack of familiarity between players and lack of confidence, hence the mistakes.
-
We know what we need to do - unfortunately, so do Newcastle.

Like that guy from Villa from the start of the season as well
In fairness, The True Geordie makes most of the statements to be entertaining, rather than actually believing his team are superstars. It's true, too - with their manager, players and funds, they should be walking the league. Make no mistake, their attacking players are very, very good.

There's a popular Youtuber called The True Geordie that talks about football in general, but always blows his top when Newcastle play badly. Recently he's been shouting his mouth off about how easy the Championship is.
I would really like to watch steam come out of his ears if we manage to pull off a win.

We don't have to play well - get in their faces, tackle, hassle and cross the ball to score goals. We cannot play good football, so we play need to just go all out for a win any which way we can.
What you just described I'd constitute as playing well right now.

BBC saying we're not playing that well. Worrying. Newcastle are going to pull themselves together at some point.

Absolutely, but remember what all the "experts" on OTIB said about him when the signing was announced?
I can't really blame them. You aren't obligated to be excited by every signing we make. We've had our fair share of elderly journeymen strikers just in the past decade - Stern John, Marlon Harewood, Patrick Agyemang to name a few - until Wilbraham, the only one I think worked out is Adebola.
Boy do I wish we still had a 32 year old Adebola though.

I've never really backed the sacking of Johnson (mainly due to wanting to give a manager time rather than happy clapping), but I will admit it's quite sad to feel more scared than happy when taking the lead.

It must be reiterated what a class act Wilbraham's been for us ever since he arrived. Considering his career before now wasn't stellar, he's been not only a top pro, but always very impressive given his age.

Bad result. Does nothing for confidence. Will be interesting to see if the penalty was legitimate. Could have been worse, a point is a point. Johnson probably won't go, we still need to solve our confidence issue and game management.
I feel like that's a fair, unbiased statement. Going to leave the forum for today though, see you later.

In which case he is not good enough at his job and requires replacing. This is his team and his responsibility.
And players take zero responsibility?

That he coaches and selects.
But ultimately can't influence every decision they make.

O Donnell makes great save for Rotherham to keep Blackburn out.

Second half, no time to sit back, we need to give them 90 minutes of hell. Normally I'd want us to preserve the lead, but this is a day for making a statement.

I'm not really up to speed on him, late edition on deadline day obviously. But what was the major fall out there, just new owners manager didn't like?
He tweeted this on deadline day. I honestly don't know any more than that.
