  1. you might want to consider what that might do to our FFP position
  2. You mean someone who left us with zero youth players, a bunch of time-expired has beens in the squad, no vision and horrid football? Ladies and gentlemen, Mr G J, who went on to such great things...oh
  3. I recall someone years ago saying that the (then) current England team would batter the 1966 team, because the modern player is fitter, technically better and the game is so much faster now.
  4. It never ceases to amaze me how amazingly mental the early rounds of the FA cup are, and how amazing it is that some of these teams make it to even the first round proper. Love it.
  5. Potter would be nuts to leave Brighton for that horror show. A dressing room full of egos and a boss who doesn't understand the game?
  6. Back in 92/3 season, away at Derby, our experiment to play wing backs was going wrong, but... Tweet of nuts Derby v City game
  7. Aww, did mummy take away your toys?
  8. Gower had a magical left peg?
  9. Well, he never really left, but his lot are playing the Slags tomorrow. No doubt there will be the usual 100k locked out. Cotts back in the sacred city
  10. How did Tanner do as emergency CB? Odd choice, but shows our lack of depth there.
  11. Brighton reserves tonked FGR 3-0 at their place
  12. The man is a legend. Should never have to buy a beer in a BS postcode
  13. I live in Aylesbury, a 20 mile drive from Wycombe. But last night, I decided not to go to the game. Now, I love City, and a local away game is truly a rare thing, but...I have two 17-year olds (Twins) and they are with me, and soon they will be hopefully heading out into the wild world. I see very little of them now, so evenings and particularly the evening meal are absolutely precious. I chose the kids over City. Does that make me the world's worst fan? I'm feeling so guilty (not least because we won) (and we wore our truly lovely away kit)
  14. Not sure what relevance his salary has to the level of performance, but there you go.
  15. That injury in the League Cup started a chain of injuries for the lad, kept going even after he left. Such a tragedy, the lad could have been a real talent. I always wonder if he was the reason GJ never bothered with our home grown players again.
  16. One of the biggest issues with this country (both now and historically) is a failure to think and plan long-term. Everything is about "jam today". The Academy was a hard sell, sure, but realistically, the only way to ensure our future. We came close with players like Ribs, but sure, it's only been in the last few years it's really paid off. But how proud does it make us to have 'one of our own' out there in these cosmopolitan times?
  17. I can't claim to have seen the old Div 4 days, only started going regularly in around '84. But those days put today's position in context. And today's pitches, stadia, treatment by police and relations with away fans, fitness and quality of players, coverage... Anyway, anyone harking on about "the good old days"...just don't, unless you were there. Now, where's my ******* Horlicks?
  18. Absolutely, I had nothing but respect for him for stepping up, especially at Wembley. And he was a really useful player.
  19. Dave, I have warned you before about being sensible and balanced...
  20. The same team who rehab'd Weimann? The record with injuries was probably down to coaching and consitioning, not rehab. Different things.
