As others have said, I think he would flourish in a better team, one that isn't struggling for shape and confidence. There's a player in there, for sure.
I seem to recall lots also didn't rate Hartley, back in the day...

Absolutely spot on. And I've noticed a lot of the comparing is coming from people who'd seemingly barely watched a game of women's football until a couple of weeks ago and wouldn't have given yesterday's game a second glance if England weren't in it. Though I suppose it's no different to the people who attach themselves to the men's team during major tournaments then go back to not giving a shit when it's over.
But at the same time, the important thing is they are watching. I don't watch a huge amount of women's football, but I was really impressed.

I know what feminism is…………..….
I don’t need it to be rammed down my throat tho. I have the same views on those who try to do the same with religion.
Religion is a belief in the irrational, used to control the feeble minded.
Feminism is plain decency and common sense.

Gonna give up on the Championship and start watching womens footy instead . It’s like watching football in the 70’s if all the games are as dirty as this
You never watched football in the '70s, did you?

Got to stop going back into the space we’ve just come from. Got to open the pitch up.
England are tired and their style is too focused on running

Had we played three sets of football there and not five, we'd have won that.
Now, now

Lots of tired legs, Germany's shorter game more effective

Lost our shape and rhythm here. Need to get a bit of grip back on the game.
Yeah, Russo has to drop maybe a bit deeper, get more involved

So many people have said that to me over the last week. Many people wrote it off a while ago but the game will just keep improving as it has done. The keepers are much better as well now which adds a lot as well. This tournament has been superb
I have watched women's footie previously, felt it was an interesting comparison to the men's game. But the standard has soared, and will only keep improving.
I have spent today watching the women's tour de France, now an England women's game in front of a FULL Wembley.

Il be honest, not really a huge fan of womens football, nothing against it but not really my thing. Flicked over for the game and so impressed with how it has improved, technically so much better and what a goal. Let’s get a second!

All square at the half and it's been a really intense match. Both teams have got stuck in and tried to implement the gameplan, even at the cost of a card or two.
After a good start from England I felt the Germans started to settle a bit more into their traditional style. Perhaps the fragile Popp pulling up in the warm-up caused a bit of a shock. They shut off a lot of the midfield channels although they forfeited some of their own. Given the balance of play being finely balanced, chances at either end have been a touch sparce.
With players on a card in the first half, it will be interesting to see if the coaches will make some forced changes. As it is the midfield is the key battleground; Oberdorf might just be a key component one way or another.
Good to see England corners going deeper and longer to Bronze to counter the Germans' zonal marking. We've had a couple of half chances and it will only need one to go in. First goal, as ever...
First goal might be the only goal.

Cute little ground, one big stand, 3 little, surrounded by fields except you have to go through an industrial estate to get there.
