I saw it the same way at the time as well. Was a bit surprised Blackburn didn't complain more about some of our tactics during that game tbh. Tony Mowbray a lot too classier than some other managers would have been after that one

It's been pretty clear for me since that Coventry game that we've put a deliberate effort into being more of a shithouse team. Right from the kick off against Blackburn, Chris Martin purposely ran full steam into one of their players to unsettle them, and that kind of thing was happening all game. Benarous kicking the boot away etc. Those things didn't get booked then but on another day will. It's not ideal, and I'm not a massive fan of using tactics like this, but I prefer that over just watching the opposition like we did against Bournemouth.

Yes ? I'm not saying it is a penalty at all or that I agree with the decision. I just think from the referee's view it's possible he saw the defender holding the Ghana player for what he deemed to be too long or unfairly. Corruption is possible, if not likely, of course but just saying I could also see it potentially being just a genuine mistake/poor decision.

How is that a reasonable punishment?? The punishment if the ref saw it as a dive initially would have been a yellow card ? He's being retrospectively punished because of a refereeing mistake. As far as I'm aware this is the first time such charge has been brought in the championship this season? If so, is this really the only clear case of cheating? How come it always seems to be a team against Fulham when these charges are found?

I hate cheating as much as the next person but I'm not ok with this. Firstly is there really enough proof that he dived? I think he probably did but it's not like there was no incident. The defender clumsily threw his leg out. If it was an completely clear case of a player cheating then I'd be a bit more on board with retrospective action. Secondly, why is the punishment now likely to be far greater than it would have been if the referee just saw the incident properly? As we all know, players are diving and cheating all over the place. Yet it's extremely rare that a case is brought up like this. Why is that? This is not alright imo.
