    The Manager

It's worth remembering that LJ kept us up first season then had us top of the league in the September following that.. That said I do love this man
  2. I can see why, if you're just jumping in fresh without knowing any of the guys, or the style of podcast, then I can understand why you might get that impression from this episode tbh. I thought it was hilarious and sums up a lot of thoughts about our club at the moment. The guys nailed the "distracted, 'do we really have to do this?'" vibe perfectly.
  3. Yeah but having them on PPV as opposed to free tv or even paid subscriptions is a bit of a cheek and is rightly getting slated. Although that's fair if you're talking about EFL then ?
  4. That's a ridiculous question given the amount that the players are still earning now. Every premier league game is broadcast all around the world, except for in the UK. The main reason they're not all broadcast here is (presumably) to protect attendances the same reason as no broadcasts at 3pm on a Sat etc. Given that attendances aren't allowed, they absolutely should be showing all of the games now. It's a massive difference for the EFL though as obviously we all know it's the other way around with clubs struggling financially even before all of this
  5. Training ground isn't done yet though is it? I imagine they'll still move there once it's complete
  6. I think they'd have made it clearer in the statement if the players had taken a pay cut. Regarding the "Lansdown could pay everyone" argument. I get it, and generally agree. Steve Lansdown has been a great owner for us in the current football world and is just about the best we could get, but there's definitely something concerning about a guy having that much money. And that's at any time, let alone a time like this.
  7. Yeah, they'll play mainly at the new training ground soon
  8. Burns should win comfortably. Relikh doesn't look very good. Whyte v Lewison could be a decent fight if Lewison can make it competitive but again neither of them are particularly impressive imo.
  9. Yeah he was flirting with being offside all the way on that run. I see why people think Kodjia should've played it through but it's always a risky one if you're not sure and would be a terrible waste if he had flicked it through only for Tammy to get caught.
  10. All things considered I thought we were pretty impressive today. Looked very solid overall in terms of positioning. Flint and Magners generally mopped up everything really well. First half was a bit quiet going forward with attacking players such as Tomlin, Kodjia and Brownhill struggling to make much of an impact in the game but on other days they'll be the ones to watch. O'Neil looked fit enough and overall ran the midfield, showing good composure on the ball when he did get chance. Subs all made a good impact which is nice to see. Very promising way to start the season imo.
  11. Wilder loses to Povetkin next month anyway.
  12. I think Quigg would've got stopped if he'd have "started quicker". Always expected Frampton to outbox him but it's a shame it never really caught fire.
  13. Whoever the manager is there always seems to be a call for them to use players from our academy. The players at under 21 level clearly can't be anywhere near good enough otherwise surely at least one of the managers would have given some a chance.
  14. Williams is better defensively in what could be a tricky away game against a team that just came down from the premier league. It's not exactly rocket science why Bryan has made way for him today, although I do agree it's a bit unfortunate for Bryan seeing as he's done well the last game and a bit that he played.
  15. As it's the first of the reverse fixtures it's a good chance for us to show what we've learnt (if anything) since early in the season. We were comfortably the better side in the 2-1 defeat at home to Burnley early in the season and if we play like that again surely we can give ourselves a chance. Last time out we got dicked by 2 corners and once again wasted a ton of good possession and chances to possibly even have won the game 3-2. I fancy an upset today as long as the confidence in the team isn't too drained by that gutting finish only 2 days ago. 2-0 City. You reds.
  16. More likely: us getting a penalty this season or getting into the play offs?
  17. I'd guess that it's the same shape just with Ayling taking Korey's position in the middle. Shame that Smith is out but good chance for those that fancied giving Ayling a go in midfield. Can always blame Pack if it doesn't work out anyway..
  18. #BristolCity v Ipswich: Fielding, Little, Ayling, Flint, Baker, Williams, Bryan, Pack, Freeman, Wilbraham, Kodjia. Nice 6-2-2 formation on paper there..
  19. Not necessarily but I would say so yeah. MK are 5 points behind them with a better goal difference and level games. That has more chance of being turned around than Preston catching us but neither are pretty likely imo.
