  1. Happy New Year to everyone. Just a reminder that I offer support to anyone if you need a confidential chat. I am a clinical therapist with experience in dealing with a wide range of mental health issues. I work solely online which is actually very beneficial, as you can access support on your phone, tablet or computer. I am fully insured, CRB checked, and although it my job I offer a few free sessions to OTIB. Message me to find out more. Hoping for a good performance on Sunday. COYR.
  2. I do think that psychologically we are weak, I'm not quite sure what the sports psychologists are doing at the club because it's not working. I work in the mental health profession and have been a football coach and feel frustrated that this side of the squad is not improving. It's about mental toughness, confidence, decision making, recovery from injury and a whole host of other areas. The other problem we have, as others have said many times, is that many of the players aren't good enough at this level. That comes down to recruitment. The academy is providing good prospects but last night proved there is little strength in depth. It's going to be long frustrating season.
  3. Happy to chat with you if it helps. I pop in here now and again to offer people a bit of support. I'm an experienced hypnotherapist and life coach.
  4. I would be happy to help if available. As you know I'm a clinical hypnotherapist and season ticket holder. Although after last night's performance I wonder why I bother! ? Message me for a chat.
  5. If Chris Martin is the answer I dread to think what the question is? A blind elephant ? has more mobility.
  6. First half plenty of nice possession but gave the ball away too often, particularly Zak. Needed to get into more dangerous situations. Set pieces need to be better too. 2nd half was dire. 0 shots on target. 58% possession, over 300 passes and nothing at the end. We are too predictable and will struggle to finish any higher than mid table. I could do with a drink after watching that.
  7. I am a psychotherapist and am happy for you to message me to find out more. Hope for another 3 points away today.
  8. It's what happens when you type Sykes without reading glasses and smith looks the same!
  9. Our biggest problem getting pens is that we rarely attack the box. Much of our play revolves around passing across the box or moving the ball to create space. If we had played driving at defenders forcing them to make decisions. Naismith and Sykes looked like good signings. Hull were very physical from kickoff and we need to match that. Frustrating but it's only game 1.
  10. Just a reminder that I offer mental help support to people in this thread. Feel free to reach out if you want to chat and find out more about how hypnotherapy can help with stress, anxiety, etc. You can find out about what I do here. https://www.timetothinkhypnotherapy.com I usually charge for initial consultations but will do them free for anyone on this thread as well as a couple of free ones after that. Good end to the season yesterday and just renewed my season tickets for 22/23. COYR.
  11. I missed this Dr. I'm not regular on the forum. Most professional sports clubs/athletes have psychologists but clearly they have a limited impact. We can see this from the number of elite athletes who suffer from mental health problems. I approached BCFC under LJ but got nowhere. I also had a meeting with the assistant manager and head of sports psychology at another Championship club, initially this was positive but it was the sports psychologist who wouldn't take it any further. I am 100% certain that I could have an impact on players as I do with the clients I see, however many people are clueless about what hypnotherapy does and why it works so effectively. They are influenced by misconceptions based on the media and people like Derren Brown. Still, 5 - 0 yesterday was a good end to the season.
  12. What does COD bring to the team? Awful today. Particularly defensively. One great goal away at Norwich, that's it for me. 45 goals shipped in now. Defensively we are terrible. We all know why Fulham are where they are but we are so weak physically. On to Cardiff.
  13. Great to hear. It can be life changing. Many people still don't understand how it works and why it can help. I'm trying to change that.
  14. Hi, sorry to hear what you've been through. I'm a clinical hypnotherapist and offer people in this group free sessions to help them out. If you would like to message me, I would be happy to help. Many people have no clue about hypnotherapy and how it works. It has helped me massively over the last few years, dealing with the loss of my daughter Aoife and son Lucas in 2014 and coming to terms with partial deafness. That's why I trained, so I can help others. You can find out more at www.timetothinkhypnotherapy.com . All the best, Chris.
  15. Hi, a good win today. Always makes the world seem a better place. I am a clinical hypnotherapist and offer a free session to help others in the group. Hypnotherapy can really help with grief and many other issues. Let me know if you would like to chat and get some support. Kind regards Chris. www.timetothinkhypnotherapy.com
  16. Thankfully I was at the Panto today at the Hippodrome, far more entertaining for my son than a December defeat at home. Anyway I am still offering a free hypnotherapy session for members of OTIB. If you need some support feel free to contact me. If you doubt that it works have a read of the following from a recent client. I was struggling with anxiety and depression at the time, often abusing my body with alcohol, amongst other things, as a means of escape and avoidance of my problems. During the sessions I felt I had a much greater understanding of how the brain works, why we feel the things we do and essentially I was able to see the bigger picture when it comes to tackling some of life's difficult scenarios that tend to pop up at the most inconvenient times. I felt very relaxed and focused after the hypnotherapy sessions, it was quite amazing in all honesty, as I was slightly skeptical at the beginning. Now I have much greater control over my thoughts and as a result, much greater control over my actions. I have noticed a significant change in my mindset, which is now completely solution orientated rather than just focusing on and drowning in my own problems. I am far more productive, happier and have a much clearer head. I have improved to such an extent that I have noticed myself having a significant positive impact on those around me, purely through how my mindset has changed. Chris is very good at asking you the right questions to make you think and really flip the polarity of your mindset from negative to positive. The hynotherapy sessions themselves are very relaxing and an excellent way to de-clutter/de-stress your mind, you will feel as though you are a new version of yourself. It varies from person to person but after about 2 months of weekly/fortnightly sessions, I was in a much better place overall. If you are on the fence about it, I would encourage you to try it as you have nothing to lose.
  17. Men are notoriously bad at admitting they have problems, I would say that about 80% of my clients are women. It is not a sign of weakness to open up about how you feel, it takes strength and courage. I have faced many problems in my own life, including losing two babies, but I am still here and fighting to improve the mental health of others. As Phantom says, never feel embarrassed and reach out for help. The solutions to you problems are only a phone call, email or conversation away. The start of the journey can be tough, but once you realise how precious life is and how much there is to enjoy it gets easier. Every day I spend with my son reminds me of why I need to carry on, and not look at the past. Those events are fixed and cannot be changed, what I can do is change the way I think about them and focus on positives in the present and future. City may be crap at the moment, but the time I spend at AG with my son can still be fun and create a bond that will live on. Feel free to reach out to me if you would like a free hypnotherapy consultation, and start your journey to a better life. COYR.
  18. Yes all the details are there. I look forward to chatting with you.
  19. Hi Possett. Yes I can help, I've worked with clients who had a range of addictions, including, smoking, alcohol, cocaine etc. The initial consultation I have with clients explains how and why hypnotherapy works so well. You can find out more at www.timetothinkhypnotherapy.com. Let me know when you would like to chat and I can book you in for a free consultation. As I said in my post anyone in the thread can have a free consultation. All the best, Chris.
  20. I am a psychologist who deals with people's mental health problems every day, and I can see the players have a problem that affects them during games. Yes they get paid well, and some appear to lack commitment, but there is a psychological element at the moment that needs fixing and is not being addressed by those working at the club. The results and performance are all the evidence we need. The longer this goes on the worse it will get, and particularly among the young players.
  21. I believe the players are fit enough, the problem is the mental side of their game. I've responded to other posts that there is a clear psychological problem with the players that is not being addressed. This goes back to LJ, DH and now NP. You can see from body language, facial expression, decision making etc that they are a long way off psychologically. The team ability is mid-table at best but currently under performing and without a clear psychological strategy we will have to hope there are 3 teams worse than us.
  22. Totally honest assessment of where we are. It was painful to watch. We can never rely on others being worse than us but it will be a close run thing. The mental strength of the team is non-existent. I have no idea what the sports psychology department is doing.
  23. Let’s look at your sales analogy. I’m assuming that I’ve got it correct that the sales manager recruited 21 out of the 25? Are you sure it’s not the other way around as NP is the ‘sales manager’ in question and he has only recruited a small number of the squad. Anyway, these are not bad players, what they have a problem with at the moment is mental, not physical. When the brain gets cluttered with lack of confidence, etc it is not able to perform at its best. That’s when mistakes creep in, poor decision making, a perceived lack of effort by those watching, and many other problems. There is a lack of understanding about motivation, it is not all about ‘what you said to them or how you told them how to sell’ but how you say it. As for the previous ‘sales managers’ they were hampered by the same problems, once the mental rot set in it was hard to change. The current squad is good enough to be mid-table, but that’s about it. It is not a top 6 side and will not be without serious financial investment/good recruitment. Something lacking during the Ashton years.
