When i was younger we lived near southampton. I was about 13. I had just taken part in a school play (Androcles and the lion - i was a spear carrying soldier - somehow Hollywood never called) our english teacher, Mr Bull was quite errr...flambouyant, and we all had crazy costumes and even more crazy green and red make up on my dad had picked me up and we had gone to the pub, where i had to wait while he had a few pints. ( fair enough after having to sit through the play I suppose) when we walked in i noticed the (then) great Dickie Davies was sitting at the bar, and as I waited for my Dad, i couldn't help but notice he kept looking over at me. I felt quite uncomfortable, and wondered what the old pervert wanted, fortunately after a while we left, and it was only when i got home i realised i still had all my face paint still on and i looked like a complete nutter......... I will always equate him with presenting the ITV wrestling.

watching the reply of the flicked header (wells) it's interesting to see the BB player run into Scott? in the aftermath, yet the Ref blows for a foul. The BB player then goes to ground 10 feet further forward. the Ref indicating it was a head injury, but didn't bring the trainers on. a small detail in the game, but typified the poor refereeing in the game. as others have said, he was massively tolerant of the BB players grabbing and pushing, and going to ground. we are all a bit hyper sensitive to Pen decisions ATM, but as has been said, if he did that on the field elsewhere it would have been a freekick - he played right through the man. The offside against Bell is so tight - the 4th defender along was probably hidden to the lino's view. the BCFC youtube highlights are now also up.

where are you seeing it? the Sky Sports highlights are so short as to be meaningless. I also wanted to see Bells offside. ta.

Osman used to get his Sunday Papers from the guy on Whiteladies road at the time, when he joined as a player he was already boasting about how he would become manager. He was an operator that bloke, worked away to undermine the management at the time. Jacki was a threat, hence his release. I used to think that any player who spent so much time on his coiffured hair was dodgy, however nowadays they all spend too much time on their grooming regimes !

we had a 'language lab' too state of the art, the teacher used to sit at the big desk and we all had little cubicle with reel to reel tape machines under the flap top desks. (did you have head sets and microphones? ) the teacher could shout directly at you if you were caught dicking about Being a little errant back in my school days, my favourite trick was to lean across and lift next doors desk lid and jam a pencil into the reel, causing much tape spooling and chaos. I also fondly remember a girl who used to let me put my hand up her shirt in the language lab!!
