Just listening to a Reading fan on 5 live and yes, it really drums home just how SPOILT and pathetic much of our fan base sound.
What other English club that has never played in the PL or won a major honour (or even got to a major final for over 100 years) gets 22k at home every other week?
Maybe the owners have been spoilt!

For those expecting big things next season, yes a pre-season with LM will do a lot for the squad, but we can expect to be at risk of losing at least TC and Jason Knight. And round and round we go…
-
Should add I think LM shows a lot of promise as a manager at this level, but even Pep would benefit from a full pre-season to shape a team to his bidding when needing to tear up the system and start again. We just don’t have the players to do that.
-
This was an unchanged side so LM has probably identified them as the best 11 (save for the absence of Sykes), but was unable to affect the game through substitutions, probably because he doesn’t know the squad well enough.
Which yet again brings us back to the bonkers decision to bin NP early and leave the replacement with someone else’s squad to deal with for ~70% of the season without the benefit of a full pre-season.
The season was written off in November - what do you think of that, ST holders?

Sad to see him go. Don’t feel our small squad can afford another “one for the future”, we need someone who can go into the starting line-up immediately.

A tricky tie against a dirty team that have had some right refereeing howlers go their way over the years, a draw would be a decent result. They looked good against us earlier in the season and probably should have won.

very sad, while we may not have lived up to the potential of the times I have some great memories of his spell in charge of England

Gas get Liverpool away, ffs

Nottingham Forest or Blackpool, meh

Championship teams coming out thick and fast, good for us

Cmon!!!

We looked shell-shocked at first, standing off them and giving them all the time in the world, but after 20 mins we really grew into the game. LM due loads of credit for not panicking.

Great performance in the end, and a good goal for TC

Rooting for Cornick

Cosy old Bristol City, just happy to make up the numbers. No tenacity or aggression.

Not one of those goons looking under 30. Ageing fan base...
I just laughed, then sadly realised I’m 41, but then laughed again when I realised they’ve not been above us in the league since I’ve been drinking booze

No we didn't according to the statement at the time.
West Ham asked if they could bring it, their request was rejected.

Cheers, so the reality is actually very different to how I remember it (I blame the booze). I wonder if that was a rumour that just got out of hand or is just muddled in my memory.

If that's a crime, I'd love to get your take on playing a song for the opposition as they did at Watford...
Didn’t we consider getting a bubble machine for when West Ham secured promotion and were visiting us for a game late in the season?

Yep. Bit of a sliding doors moment with Watford who went on to enjoy plenty of Prem football and cup finals over the next 20 years, whilst we have pissed around in L1 / Championship. Bearing in mind they don't really have more resources than us, and their ownership is generally considered batshit.
Similar to the 2004 play off final with Brighton too.
We must be the only side in the country getting 22,000 fans in every other week yet not played in the Premier League

Millwall.
Coppells first league game in charge.
Another stinker I had to misfortune to catch. 2-5 vs SO’D’s Doncaster and 0-6 vs Cardiff are other notable lowlights

Agree with the comments that suggest Birmingham, today wasn’t even the worst this season. I’ve never seen a worse example of “getting the basic wrong” than that Birmingham game. Over/hit passes, short passes, mis-controlled passes going into touch (Sykes, who is probably our best player this year, did it three times, let alone the rest of the team).
