Bizarre from Kane, does appear that he likes to be the big fish in a small pond if he rejects this. People saying he is going to see out his contract & move to a prem team next season - but who? United have just spent £70 odd million on a young striker who will be their future, Man City have Haaland & he won't end up at Arsenal, so that leaves the unlikely destinations of Liverpool & Chelsea. Very strange. Can't help but feel it would be for the benefit of the England national team if he was at an elite club instead of Spurs.

Indeed. It’s sad how many of us English cannot see the lack of ambition in this from Kane but there you go, all about breaking the Prem goal scoring record isn’t it ?

Closer journey tbh that one although offset by midweek.

I expect we will ultimately sell out if there are just 88 left but no historically our average position had been probably bottom third Championship. Middlesbrough certainly higher, I'd say top end Championship, bottom third or quarter top flight at a guess.

Our fanbase has grown significantly post redevelopment (yes I know tickets sold v actual there but that's the same for all clubs).

More recent analysis site suggests we are 33rd which means 13th in the Championship as a historic position.

Indeed. Boro were playing in European cup finals whilst we were languishing in League one at the time, that’s the difference..

As you said though post redevelopment our support has been very decent. I’ve said it a million times on here before but to get the support we do at home is unbelievable really considering how dire we have been for pretty much most of our history!

Another point - Would rather (as someone in s82) be situated behind the goal like most clubs. This is obviously not discussing the difficulty of moving current ST holder’s there, but I believe that it would boost the atmosphere. my dad is more of a day tripper, going on occasion and likes to sit in the middle of the lansdown and says its like a library there, and unsurprising when the club put our loudest fans in the corner. If we did (and this is a big maybe) move our ‘noisiest’ fans to the centre of the south stand, it would get the whole south stand going, and if the A Blockers keep trying to get the Dolman going, there is a high chance that the atmosphere would massively improve. Most grounds ive been to in the Champ, and that is the large majority have their noisy, standing fans behind the goal, and they are louder. Get a proper home end going again, attacking that end in the second half, get the lansdown going and the dolman, it really could get it going. Then again, itz just a suggestion ?

The problem is S82 needs to be expanded across a few blocks.. The main issue is now there are established season ticket holders in those said blocks who are happy to sit in silence and not contribute anything to the atmosphere. You can’t just uproot existing season ticket holders, it wouldn’t be right.

This is something that should have been nipped in the bud when the redevelopment was first done, we had the perfect opportunity to make the South Stand a proper home end. The back 6 or 7 rows could have been left unreserved, at least then the singers would have been spread the whole length of the stand and not just crammed into one corner.

Personally don’t think the club have ever been that bothered about the AG atmosphere though.

It’s a numbers game for them and as long as we keep getting in 20,000 plus crowds that’s ultimately all the bean counters and the Lansdown family care about ££.

  4. Been done to death on here over recent years but christ something needs to be done to improve the Ashton gate atmosphere - it is absolutely dreadful. What ever happened to the talk of S82 being expanded?

    Here we go again then!

    Bakinson starting for Wednesday unbelievably!

Think Wednesday could be in trouble this season, squad looks so weak for this level highlighted by the fact they have Bakinson as a starter!..

Time for a Nigel-type person to move in to oversee our commercial, design and communications teams and get some of the basics sorted.

Indeed. It’s something that i thought the club was getting better at but clearly not.

The club shop is also something that needs a complete overhaul/re-think. Not fit for purpose and is far too small. We have a sizeable modern 27,000 seater stadium with a tiny understocked shop, it’s an embarrassment that needs sorting.

Most likely yes. I very much doubt O'Neills have designed the kit.

You have to remember, for O'Neills we are a huge customer for them.

A shame we didn’t try and get Castore in, they seem to be making decent kits this season.

& so glad we have the HPC investment, imagine him spending time there with Ireland played a big part

I also wouldn’t underestimate the pull that Nigel Pearson has on players coming here aswell to be honest..

what the hell is that on the left . ???

Shocking! Seems to be more and more people voicing their opinions on social media aswell..

This has been a huge own goal by the football club, it’s been a shocking decision to go with O’neills.

It is mad how everyone bar those in charge can see the issues.

Why don’t they consult with a select few prior to putting it out? The supporters club coupled with some younger fans maybe.

This is the worst it’s been for a while, it’s rare you see almost everyone in agreement regarding them.

On the home kit, the collar is terrible as many have already said, but does anyone else think that both the O’Neills logo, and the City badge should both be moved inwards a bit, they’re both to the side of the white lines but should be in the middle of where the lines run through.

That third kit with that badge is absolutely shocking, should’ve never been allowed to get past the design stage.

As incompetent as the club seemingly are in this department i would be shocked if the grumblings on here and all over social media haven’t gone unnoticed..

Once again the club have only got themselves to blame though. It’s a shame as we seem to be doing just about everything else correctly.

It does baffle me though..How hard is it to get a proper kit supplier sorted and keep the fans in consultation with any changes to the badge? It’s not rocket science is it..

Because for the billionanth time, we can't stand in the players way, how many times do you have to be told this

Sell Scott and we set the club up for the next five years,

Keeping Scott doesn't garentee us promotion, the team as it stands isn't as strong as Leeds, Middlesborough,  Millwall, Southampton, Leicester, Sunderland that's just six teams who should finish above us, without further strengthening of City's squad,

We finished mid table, we've added players but so has everyone else,

You seem to fail the very basics of economics with regards to ffp and club finances

With Scott in the side its still doubtful we will finish top 6 and if we do, it's even more doubtful we would win the play offs as this club has never done that,

It is even less likely we'd finish top 2

Ah wouldn’t football be so easy if it was played on paper..
