  1. Mental. It seems the powers that be are determined to drain every last bit of atmosphere left on a matchday out of football in this country.
  2. Yes you are right pal possibly was because of that. A bit of an OTT reaction to do it for every game though IMO.
  3. Not sure why we net off the first 10 odd rows in the Atyeo to be honest. Must be some sort of H&S bullshit reason.
  4. Without wanting to sound rude but if you think getting 40 k at home doesn’t equate to you being a big well supported club than you are some what very deluded. Don’t confuse successful clubs with big clubs. Any football club that can pull 40 k through the door in the second tier is a big big club. Not many clubs in the world that play second tier football can do that.
  5. What a fat tosser. Sooner he hangs his boots up the better! He can’t have many seasons left surely
  6. Really really disappointing but plenty of positives to take. Naismith and Sykes both look like real quality additions and have certainly made our squad stronger. Just hoping this late goal theme doesn’t continue on for the rest of the season.
  7. Haha this actually made me laugh out loud ?
  8. This for me. As i said Vyner has been given his opportunities and has blown them. As harsh as that sounds that is unfortunately football. Time for the other youngsters in that position to be given some game time and see how they get on. It would be interesting to hear Pearson’s opinions on Vyner - as others have said i get a feeling the plan was to sell him on but for what ever reason that hasn’t happened and we are somewhat lumbered with him for now.
  9. Sorry disagree. The amount of points Vyner has cost us IMO is indefensible. He is a liability. You cannot afford to have liabilities even as squad players at this level.
  10. Not for me. He has been given more than enough opportunities IMO.
  11. Never would usually want to see a football club go to the wall but I genuinely hope it happens to Barcelona - i absolutely despise both them and Real.
  12. Impressive stat. Can’t deny the passion for football up in the north east ?
  13. Still short in the centre of midfield for me. Im still not fully convinced James is the answer and as we all know as great a player as William is his injury record is still very hit and miss. If we can get in a real hardworking nasty and proven centre mid then i will have a bit more hope but as things stand i cant see us finishing anywhere above lower mid-table. Such an unpredictable division though anything can happen. I’ve got full faith in Pearson to get us to where we all want to be though if given time but I think next season will be a step to far to mount a serious promotion challenge.
  14. It’s called progress and ambition. I feel the negative posters on this thread fully represent the average apathetic Bristolian outlook on things!
  15. It’s not just the extra 2 k seats, a new modern Atyeo with 10 cooperate boxes and say another heineken type lounge or something to mirror the lounges we have in the South stand and then it becomes a lot more financially viable. There is without doubt a need for more hospitality boxes at the stadium, the ones in the Lansdown sell out every year. I really don’t think the club would have any issues selling another 10 say every season.
  16. Very smart. Definitely going to get a pair of those black shorts ?
  17. What other club in the country that hasn’t played topflight football since the early 80s can match out attendance’s? Every single club (bar Coventry who had a freakish season and have a buzz because they are back home) above us in that table has been in the topflight in the last 10-15 years. After the horrendous football served up the past couple of seasons plus as i keep saying the lack of generational success to have pulled in an average of 19 almost 20 k is fantastic. The away team boosting the average attendance is irrelevant aswell, you can say that for any team in the division. Sheff united’s average for example wouldn’t be 27 k if it wasn’t for some sold out away ends at there place the same goes for Forest etc etc. Every team counts season ticket holders aswell present or not so again not overly sure what you are getting at with that, we aren’t the only ones that do it..
  18. I’d spin it the other way though and say that in actual fact for a club that has had so little success and hasn’t been in the topflight for over 40 years to be pulling in an average attendance of 20k plus most weeks is very impressive.. Catchment area means nothing its generational success and a sustained period of time in the topflight that grows a fanbase and as i said all that considered we are a well supported football club imho.
  19. Pretty boring and uninspiring though isn’t it.. the 20/21 home shirt was near on identical to that but with just a different colour. It is hard for kit manufacturers to constantly keep coming up with fresh idea’s season after season IMO. Certainly not going to please everyone either..
  20. Still pretty surprised we didn’t build an indoor pitch as a part of the HPC? Surely there is enough land within the grounds of the complex to do it.. not sure if you would need additional planning for it though?
  21. This is spot on for me and something me and my old man were discussing recently. I feel Nige is a very much doing what SOD did whilst being a much easier character to like than SOD and one with obviously a better pedigree in the game. SOD set the foundations for Cotts to come in and flourish and get us out of League 1. I genuinely feel Cotts wouldn’t have done what he did if SOD hadn’t set the foundations for him. I really hope it can be Nige who gets us to the Prem and not somebody else but the job he is doing is setting a really good platform for either him or somebody new to come in and get us promotion in the not too distance future IMO.
  22. Far too early to say isn’t it. Management only works out well for a very small % of ex - pro’s.
