  1. As i said previously this must surely be the beginning of the end for Southgate. He peaked last summer for me and must go after qatar barring an absolute miracle. I will just say though before the English public and press slaughter him that a fair bit of respect must be put on Southgates name IMO. First manager to get us to a final since 66 and the first WC semi-final since 90 is not to be sniffed at.
  2. Crowd really getting frustrated. Personally feel this is the beginning of the end for Southgate.
  3. Another very good signing, can’t knock Pearson and the board so far this window ?
  4. Does anyone have any timescale on when the shop is going to be moved/redeveloped? Shocking that it has taken so long to be honest.
  5. I quite like that to be fair
  6. Maybe. I think this world cup is massive for Southgate to be honest. I think the FA have accepted the cautious and at times pretty negative football dished up by Southgate and his management team as they have yielded a major tournament sem-final and final. It’s when the wins stop coming in and we get dumped out in the early stages of a tournament whilst still be playing such dull negative football that i think Southgate is going to have a problem. Hoping we can get to at least the Semi’s in Qatar and to be honest it wouldn’t surprise me if we did to be honest. This England team does seem to have the knack of doing it when it really matters.
  7. Not at our best these last 2 games but a draw in Germany is never a bad result. People can call Southgate negative all they want (and they would be right to an extent) but the man gets us results and a semi final and final are testament to that.
  8. Indeed. Ive stood at the very back of the second tier on the Stretford end at Old Trafford and it was horrendous - literally felt like I wasn’t even in the stadium!
  9. Was a decent player for us i thought. His legs had clearly gone but he still had enough about him to be effective at this level. Good luck to him in management ?
  10. Good news. A very positive window so far from the club ?
  11. This. Celtic just cannot compete in the English market like they could 10-15 years ago. As huge of a club as they are as you have rightly pointed out the most they have ever spent on a player is £9m. They would have to double that and a bit more to get Semenyo and not a chance they will be doing that.
  12. Fucking animals. Certainly not condoning what happened to Billy Sharp or the Aston Villa goalkeeper over here but i think the violence in France gives some sort of perspective that in actual fact things are a LOT worse on the continent.
  13. I’ve got to be honest I don’t usually get jealous/envious of teams getting promotion to the Prem but watching the Forest fans celebrate then really did make me feel a sense of envy. Not sure if it’s because we have had so many battles with Forest over the last 10-15 years both in League 1 and the Championship but it just feels yet another club have got there before we have. Granted Forest are a bigger club than ourselves but it just goes to show no matter how much of a basket case a club can be it only takes an inspired appointment or getting the foundations right at a club and you can go a long way. Lets hope we are on the right path and can at least get back to challenging for a play-off spot in the coming seasons..
  14. I see where you are coming from but for me supporting Bristol City has been just as much about the football as it has been about where i went to school and where i grew up in South Bristol. When you stand on the terraces at Ashton gate or you go away following City knowing you are surrounded by like minded people from your area and seeing familiar faces from South Bristol is what it’s all about for me. It’s that togetherness that you are all from the same area’s and are all in it together win lose or draw.
  15. Me too. Undoubtedly Trent is fabulous going forward but its been proven time and time again in the big matches when it matters against the top teams he really struggles defensively.
  16. Give me a break. They were playing non-league football as recently as 2014 and spent the entirety of the last decade in either the conference or the basement. We are living in 2022 not the 1980s and I don’t see how anyone can think Luton town with their dilapidated old facilities and poor league positions over the last 10-15 years (bar last years fluke) are a bigger football club than us.
  17. Scouser’s trying to get in without tickets, surely not?
  18. Mental isn’t it. A football club that was playing non-league football a little over 7 years ago and still have the facilities of a League 2/non-league club now calling us a ‘non-mark’ club ? I don’t think anyone gives a toss what they won in the late 80s. Its 2022 now and they get gates of 10 k a week in the most dated ground in the league.. As a football club they are an age behind us. Genuinely hope the cunts go down next season as League 1 is without a doubt their level!
  19. Haha you have to laugh at them. Imagine actually having the misfortune to call Luton your ‘home’. Arguably the worst town i have ever had the displeasure of visiting - what an absolute shit hole of a place. Also 8th our best finish in the championship? Did the thick cunt forget about us getting to the 2008 championship play-off final then?
  20. He has a massive pull for us IMO. One of the reason i was so happy when Pearson came in to be honest. Players want to play for him especially at this level.
  21. A very astute signing. Luton punched well above their weight last season and i’d imagine he feared a season of struggle was on the cards for them. The pull of coming to a bigger club that can pay to play under Nigel Pearson was obviously too great for him..
  22. After having a quick look i was quite surprised at how little Roma have actually won both domestically and obviously on the European stage in their history to be honest. For some reason i had thought they had won a lot more silverware then they actually have.
  23. Exciting or not GJ produced results on the pitch that season - getting us closer to the Premier league than any other City manager in living memory.
