  1. What other club in the country that hasn’t played topflight football since the early 80s can match out attendance’s? Every single club (bar Coventry who had a freakish season and have a buzz because they are back home) above us in that table has been in the topflight in the last 10-15 years. After the horrendous football served up the past couple of seasons plus as i keep saying the lack of generational success to have pulled in an average of 19 almost 20 k is fantastic. The away team boosting the average attendance is irrelevant aswell, you can say that for any team in the division. Sheff united’s average for example wouldn’t be 27 k if it wasn’t for some sold out away ends at there place the same goes for Forest etc etc. Every team counts season ticket holders aswell present or not so again not overly sure what you are getting at with that, we aren’t the only ones that do it..
  2. I’d spin it the other way though and say that in actual fact for a club that has had so little success and hasn’t been in the topflight for over 40 years to be pulling in an average attendance of 20k plus most weeks is very impressive.. Catchment area means nothing its generational success and a sustained period of time in the topflight that grows a fanbase and as i said all that considered we are a well supported football club imho.
  3. Pretty boring and uninspiring though isn’t it.. the 20/21 home shirt was near on identical to that but with just a different colour. It is hard for kit manufacturers to constantly keep coming up with fresh idea’s season after season IMO. Certainly not going to please everyone either..
  4. Still pretty surprised we didn’t build an indoor pitch as a part of the HPC? Surely there is enough land within the grounds of the complex to do it.. not sure if you would need additional planning for it though?
  5. This is spot on for me and something me and my old man were discussing recently. I feel Nige is a very much doing what SOD did whilst being a much easier character to like than SOD and one with obviously a better pedigree in the game. SOD set the foundations for Cotts to come in and flourish and get us out of League 1. I genuinely feel Cotts wouldn’t have done what he did if SOD hadn’t set the foundations for him. I really hope it can be Nige who gets us to the Prem and not somebody else but the job he is doing is setting a really good platform for either him or somebody new to come in and get us promotion in the not too distance future IMO.
  6. Far too early to say isn’t it. Management only works out well for a very small % of ex - pro’s.
  7. It’s a disgrace that the FA and more importantly the government are still allowing these shady individuals from overseas to buy our football clubs.
  8. Easily see 25 k plus for Sunderland!
  9. Fair play Sound’s like the club have done a really good job with this ? On a side note did anyone manage to get any pictures of inside of the HPC? Always nice to see a few different angles and possible rooms/area’s that the club haven’t shown us on the OS/social media etc!
  10. Certainly was a decent player in his day and I’m sure somebody our young forwards can learn a lot from ?
  11. Im of the same opinion to be honest. We should have more than enough in this squad to finish comfortably in the top 10 Imho.
  12. Silly Welsh tossers ??
  13. My thoughts exactly. Whilst we all appreciate the extra income and revenue the developed stadium has brought - is Robins Tv really the format to be gloating and patting himself on the back about it? SL has become almost a marmite figure for City fans recently it seems. You have the staunch supporters of him and then you have the doubters and critics, as much as I appreciate the infrastructure he has built for the club I’ve doubted his stewardship for quite a few years now. I know people will say there is nothing much in the ‘blasé’ comment but for me the body language said more for me than the comment. He looks and has looked pretty done with the football side of things for a while now - i think the whole MA disaster and then the Holden appointment has broken him somewhat and what ever appetite he did have for the football club has gone.
  14. Lee Hendrie is a clueless clown. I genuinely think the only reason he get’s media work is because people feel sorry for him..
  15. Plenty said it was a bad signing.. I knew at the time it was a ridiculous waste of money ?
  16. It definitely needs expanding but we were always going to have these issues as a good % of the fans that populate the South Stand are fans from the Atyeo that moved their season tickets over when the re-build was completed. The Atyeo barring a few seasons under Danny Wilson had a pretty dead sterile atmosphere for the most part and the vast majority of fans there sat and this theme has just continued on into the South Stand. Moving existing season ticket holder’s would be tricky but the only real solution would be to extend section 82 along the top say 5 or 6 rows of the South Stand.
  17. The signing of Louis Britton proves we are scouting even lower than conference south level..
  18. Always thought that fascia is in need of something.. Even ‘Ashton gate stadium’ would surely look better than the bleak grey cladding that it currently is!
  19. Are they banned at other mass gatherings then i.e concerts held at football stadiums or festivals like Glastonbury? Just an innocent question as they seem to be rife at these sorts of events. Are festival/concert goers lungs more immune to them i wonder?!
  20. The point being i highly doubt that there is an ongoing manhunt by the plod to catch the individuals that let them off at concerts.. I may be wrong on that and if anyone has any examples of people being prosecuted for letting off pyro’s at concerts then i stand to be corrected but i get a feeling that once again its football fans being demonised by the authorities. Glastonbury next week will be another mass event where you will see countless pyros being used. My own personal view is Pyro’s always add an extra bit to the atmosphere - you only have to look at every country in continental Europe to see that. As previously said though this is just yet another stick to beat us football fans with IMO and has very little to do with H&S.
