  1. Always disappointing to lose, but keep in mind we're only a mid table standard team. We will lose a lot of games this season. As long as we stay up and aren't considered in the relegation pack then that's progress.
  2. I get it, 'you can support us, were just like you" kind of thing. How clever. That may also explain Santa's Grothole
  3. For the first time ever I actually almost felt sorry for them. That's so bad. I run a relatively small company and it doesn't cost a lot to get a professional stand put together. Are they hard up or something?
  4. We need 2 or 3 championship quality players in the Window if we are to push on
  5. Slightly worried Tomlin missed the pen. I love his 'moments' and magic set pieces, but let's be honest of those dry up its not like he's a team player.
  6. Some mates up there said there were lots of positives, we just need a decent transfer window in January and I think we will be ready to push on.
  7. Hopefully won't be a melt down on here. I think people just need to realise where we are as a club. I've posted before that our 'amazing transfer window' is probably enough to ensure we are not in a relegation dog fight, nothing more. That in turn means we are still going to drop a lot of points along the way. Focus on 60 points.
  8. I am genuinely excited by today. Villa are one of the few clubs that i hold a respect for in regard to their size, fan base etc. Like Spurs and Everton to name a couple of others. Can't wait for the away fixture. Would love to role back the years for that one but both my boys are excited by it so can't really deny them the experience.
  9. Not bad all things considered. We are at best a mid table team so dint really expect us to come away with points from the real top teams.
  10. I completely agree. You brilliantly make the point that we are nothing more than division 2/3 club and that you are a division 3/4 club. I know exactly who we are and what we are trying to do, just as I know exactly who rovers are ano all they can achieve.
  11. I take it that's Darren Clarke? I couldn't name one rovers player, let alone recognise them. God's or been a long, long time since they mattered. Is Andy Tilson still captain?
  12. A nomination for 'Up the Arse Corner'? Someone send it in to Viz.
  13. I like the rivalry. It's a fun bit of banter and I wouldn't want to lose that. I just look at both clubs and where they are both on and off the field and it's obvious that when it comes to the important things were just in completely different places. My mum is a rovers fan and I had the obligatory 5 o'clock wind up call and I found myself just smiling. I actually found myself happy for her. She thought I would give it loads back but it just didn't seem important. I know this sounds like a cheap shot but I don't know how else to phrase it, but Rovers look and act and are and have been for over 15 years a lower league club. Without uncle steve there but for the grace of God go all of us I know, but we are where we are and pushing on. Rovers you sense aren't.
  14. Don't be jealous. They've really achieved something special. Don't forget it was only 12 months ago they were a non league club play football outside of the football league and now they're in division 3. You can understand why they are showing off.
  15. Good for them. Given the dire state of the club it's a remarkable achievement. Wonder how much that rich owner they've got is going to spend now in the summer? Including the new stadium and stuff I bet it's like 100million or some thing.
  16. Ooh me ribs. What on earth has a championship club got to do with the race for promotion in division 4? To be fair I've had my fun. I always wanted to see them non league and I have. It can never be taken away, the history book cannot be rewritten. I've enjoyed every second since the 2000-01 season and even now as they maybe, just maybe, get out of division 4 it still just a bunch of gypsies, tramps and thieves scabbing around division 3. I shall continue to smile at their tinpot situation. Good luck Rovers, whatever gets you through the night.
  17. Bristol Rovers - booooooo.......wait wrong thread.
  18. Completely agree. But it should just be accepted fact that this is where we are. i thought we would finish 18th t the start of the year and we did nothing, absolutely nothing, from April last year onwards, to demonstrate any commitment to some sort of larger goal. if we do nothing then we will be in this position next year, yes, but the here and is all that matters right now and fluke result aside we were never going to win today so don't be too upset. when people say 'but its the manner of the defeat that gets me' it pisses me off as what did you expect? We aren't good enough to 'give the a game'. boro away is a freak result, they happen over 46 games. On tot he next one.
  19. Theres no point getting upset over this game. On to the games where we have to complete.
