  1. Reading here seems quite a good chance that FL will be the new 'Head coach' or 'Manager'... especially from the poster few pages back who really seems ITK re the friend of FL We shall see on this. He has played at the highest level, he has worked with managers at the highest levels and if you cannot draw experience from that then we are all doomed. I was a great fan of NP and still very p1ssed off at his departure, but the king is dead, long live the king ! Re this Head coach v Manager. Some time earlier this year at a senior Robins lunch down the Gate, Steve Lansdown was guest speaker. As always came across very well. I actually asked him when he was on the floor, taking questions, why NP was a manager and the previous incumbents were Head Coaches.... what was the difference. He actually replied to effect.. None and he was not bothered what they called themselves, all a bit strange and I was none the wiser So will FL (or who ever) be the HC or the manager, and TBH seems irrelevant.
  2. Not sure about that…the Venkys might have relatives who are interested..they by all accounts did not know about the concept of relegation when they acquired Blackburn Rovers… trust me, they are out there!
  3. by far worse time to be a supporter ? You could not have been stood near me in the old enclosure when we lost 0 1 home to Torquay United to go bottom of old Div 4. On a wet sh***y night with under 3000 in attendance..... Now that was a bad time... This is a stroll in the park by comparison
  4. Great report as always. Thanks for taking the time. For what ever reason our games against Rotherham are always turgid grinding games, never pleasing to watch. At home Rotherham have beaten Norwich, held Preston, lost narrowly to Leicester so perhaps they stop a lot teams from playing… match officials get a hard time. We certainly had one really clear pen denied with almost WWF as commented on sky.
  5. All in all, not too bad a start. Blighted yet again by major injuries. An expensive signing McCrorie out ‘injured’ until new year with some nasty bug. Never seen him play, a £2.0m signing. Who knows what difference he will make. Tommy out and missed, again huge benefit his return. Atkinson to return soon, as well as Zak…. All of a sudden with a change Lady Luck and injuries NP will have a match day squad headache who to leave out ? Nice to pick up something at Leeds. After Saturday played 11..quarter of season as good as…
  6. He will be in Burnley then for 8 minutes. Spent some time working up that area…some nice spots but…..
  7. Yes. In front of the old enclosure ! I was not far from that
  8. That is a recommendation.. a fit Williams without issues top player
  9. Yes.... Burnley v Bournemouth ! A bit interest. 28/10 at Bmuff and 2/3 oppp North. ?
  10. Good luck to HNM as others have alluded. Match of the day will certainly be of more interest with HNM, SEM, and BENTS (bench ) wonder how many starts he will have What odds of all three being back in Championship next season? Luton might prevent that..
  11. Great post and great listen on a BH Sunday morning. It will bring the usual moans and groans but he has achieved so much in the 11 years since this IV and not to be scoffed at…Ashton Vale and what we now have, the vision of the academy and the HPC all happened and producing talented young players to come through the ranks… Been relegated and promoted since and now an established Championship side. As for those who him to go, be careful what you wish for….
  12. Ok. I will get slated but is woman's football still a ‘minority’ sport? I accept the National tournaments draw the crowds but look for instance at Arsenal ladies. The men play in front the of 50k plus each week… the woman about 2k? How many of us on OTIB could name any of the BCFC woman's team. I suspect very few. Best of luck to those who play woman's football and those who support it, but apart from the rules it is night and day difference as a spectator sport compared to mens pro game.
  13. Suppose if true would split opinions here… however a fit Kalas would be the best central defender at the club by a ‘country’ mile ! I hope its true. One year deal makes sense
  14. I am a great fan of NP but him and the ‘staff’ got to look at this, allied to the PNE game that in two home games we have posed zero threat. The good result at Millwall wiped out. The RHS posed no threat at all, and Tanner while good defensively offers very little going forward. second half was better but sending off ended it.
  15. Yep… I thought ‘did I really hear that’. Clearly I did ??? surprised there were not usual pc apologises but you are spot on re Gary Owers. Great insight
  16. At the end of the game seemed to kick off with Gary Owers going ‘spare’ at the Millwall fans trying to get on pitch, and the stewards looking about 16, and being basically useless. I am sure I heard for ‘**** sake’. From our Gary. Radio at its best ?? and brilliant programme…
  17. I am sure at home games you must enjoy attending the Gate? Who do you think was responsible and the driving force for what has happened in BS3? fact is SL has supported every manager he's had… get all foundations right rest will fall in place..
  18. Now on page 162… and not much difference to page 6,16, whatever. Same stuff being basically regurgitated. Totally bored with the AS saga. I will not look at this thread again…please let it be concluded ?
  19. Bet365. 4/1. Just put a few quid on that as have an account with them ?
  20. All strange one, reminds me a bit of the Liam Walsh scenario few years back, when he had a storming season at Coventry, great expectations, came back to us got injured and never really saw the light of day at BS3. KW great season at FGR gets injured and rest is history…. He might well be one who got away and will be interesting to see how it all pans out at Derby. Interesting watch this season. Time will tell
  21. And I suspect most fans want this to happen as well ASAP so we can all move on and enjoy Match of the Day ?. Hope he gets more game time than Sem is going to get
  22. I enjoy watching ex City players progress, or not, as the case may be. example will be if Sem becomes an established premier league player, or not. Same for HNM, where he ends up and what he achieves in next three years. Reading threads here some rate him, some don’t. His progress will perhaps show who called it right. For me he never really shone for us, apart from a few games that was a shame.
  23. Looking forward to booing him and clapping him at the same time… par for the course… he would expect nothing else at the Gate
  24. The pantomime villain done it again, respect to top manager. wonder if he will stay at Huddersfield, great to ‘boo’ and ‘clap’ him at the same time next season. ?
  25. Its a perception you might take from this last year but actually when you look at his playing record (thanks Wiki) it is not that bad in his defence, in fact considering the way TK plays the game perhaps pretty good ? 2015/16 season (M/boro)43 appearances 2016/18 (Fulham) 69 appearances 2018/19 (BCFC) 38 appearances 2019- BCFC 105 apperances. So this season he has been blighted with soft tissue injuries but I would guess the question the medical team, mangement will ask as he is almost 30 will he put those behind him for next season. If the answers is yes and he will agree a new deal on more favourable terms to BCFC (like AW & NW) then its a given we will sign him ? And a fit TK is a top top defender in the championship. With the days of austerity for Championship clubs is there any reason to think he would actually get a better deal elsewhere..also bear in mind he is on record as being settled in this area... and NP has stated he really likes TK.. I, being the eternal optimist am hopeful he will be here next season..fit and raring to go...? We shall see !
