  1. Careful re Taylor Moore…..if Hearts don’t keep ‘Mary’ as is his nick name in the frozen north, he might well be back here next season…..?
  2. Top man. So many here ‘hated him’ if those are the right words, and never wanted him near the hot seat here. Pure speculation what might have been. I always respected him after the play off semi final win when after being punched by some halfwit fan at full time he made light of it, and went into City dressing room to wish the City well in the final. Respect and keep the stories coming. His book is a cracking read for any Footie fan.
  3. FWIW. I have been parking at the park ride for about 4 years…. Simply NOT an issue. years ago used to have a guy on the gate and the ‘office’ where the seating area and loos are was manned. No more. That finished donkey years ago. 15 minute stroll to the ground. there is no cctv…spying on anyone getting on or off buses. Not policed at all. Each home game I see the same cars & fans parking up and strolling out of park and ride to the stadium…. I have always been perplexed by cars being parked on the grass verges outside the park and ride.. best kept secret, there you go…
  4. So true….he has my support to sort out the mess he inherited
  5. NP was a strong uncompromising defender. This defence is not in his image. He must have plans re this for next season…
  6. Everyone is entitled to a bad day at the office, and perhaps we are reading too much into this. I guess like most posters think it’s very likely we will lose one of Scott, HNM, or Sem. If it’s right for player, and club. If I had to make that call of the three it would be HNM, at the right money. And we do not want a Fam scenario agin..
  7. some very good reviews and great start with his first 'start' as such.... but he was also really rated when on loan in L1 at Gillingham... and seems so far he's more than capable of holding his own in the Championship. If Baker is not coming back and we keep KLOSE next season, are we sorted at the back and just really need that right hand side fixing ? proper wing back/full back. As NP said, too much cannot be expected of TANNER as a youngster. Is he really though similar to FLINT ?
  8. Did we not pay £7 Million for him….NP likes Kalas…cannot see him leaving
  9. Good bit of info…good luck to him.. So IF his career is sadly over someone somewhere will pay off his final years ? Not from club. you never know, he might be back but guess wait and see. As I pointed out in OP , wish the guy well, but of interest to City fans, like any other injured player.
  10. Been out a while now and little information coming out or leaked from the club re Bakes. He has been a big miss as at this level he was good…when fit. while we all wish him well, IF it transpires that his footballing career is over in the pro game would the club be compensated and how would the value be set. Was he not initially a 4 Million signing…then resigned for nowt.. Just wondering as I would rather have a fit Nathan Baker than some Compensation that does not reflect the mans worth. With the state of the finances how is his value worked out..
  11. The title of the thread is how NP called it…crap, and the first 45 was. I like the guy as he does not mess about with crass comments, he knows what he sees and with the tools he has (the players) there is not a lot he can do to fix it… let’s be honest..16 points clear of Derby we are thankfully pretty safe, I just hope we collect a few more points to end up lower mid table, not 4th or 5th from bottom. The criticism I would throw towards him and the ‘staff’ are the signings of King & Simpson…but then again every club in the land makes naff signings… Ask Leicester City fans, and find the comments made by Smichael…he is attributed to building that title winning side..let him sort out the right hand side and we might be half decent..
  12. Some good points all round, same stuff regurgitated by fans and NP. He has not got a magic wand, he or the club found Klose who is an out of contract player (and really decent at that) and I cannot believe we could not have sorted the RB out in a similar fashion…. NP knows where we are and there will be wheeling dealing in summer.. That right hand side has been issue most of the season and a young Tanner is not the solution…. I always respect NP for his honesty. I am confident next season we will be stronger..
  13. Not so sure on that..yes it is popular 'opinion' and I also bought into that once, but seeing it again on this thread does make me wonder whether he just intended to make a hole in the net by hitting it as hard as he could.. his team mates would have said something about that if missing it on purpose was true...
  14. That is true, all singing ‘sign him on’ last home game end of his loan…then he morphed into something else…. His history at all the clubs he landed at says it all. From brilliant start to then a non event and waste. A waste of a talent, waste of a wage, and became a waste of time. He himself admits he has demons… So, the cycle continues and will be an interesting watch. I will always remember that goal against Huddersfield home, and the free kick at Fulham…. I thought he would end up back at Peterborough for the third or fourth time
  15. There is a YouTube video showing the all the 7 touches he had…. Could not believe that a player only touched ball 7 times in 90 minutes. Seems true.?
  16. So true. Funny. What a great watch that was. listening to the late Jimmy Hill going on about TV, wonder what he would say today about parachute payments and the like, and good Alec Stock from Bournemouth… 40 years later the rise of that club and TV money. Strange we cannot compete with little old Bournemouth today. And the warning from history being ignored by us and countless other clubs, spending more than you earn. many here today on this forum in the 9200 crowd v Fulham. I was, stood old enclosure. Recall a great atmosphere where somehow the result was immaterial.
  17. I was not there that day. Had things at home on but listened to whole Match on radio Brizzle and recall Gary Owers saying never seen anything like that before, as well as many livid callers ringing in who had attended.. agree many of the late winners or equalisers this season have been stomach turning but for being given the run around by 10 men for a whole half of a game and them scoring a deserved late winner left me numb at home. somehow I suspect tomorrow will be a cracking game and that wrong will be righted ?
  18. Yes..to me the low point of our season was Coventry away, when we totally outplayed by 10 man Coventry City……. And somehow contrived & managed to lose that game.. I for one am really looking forward to Tuesday night game, The chance of back to back wins first time this season, confidence in the squad, players like Sem on fire, and to erase that Saturday from the memory bank ?
  19. He has the chance after this season to mould the team in his character...it is not at the moment..... to quote LJ he will want 'pitch side personalities' . We can all guess who NP is referring to today. I would challenge him that there is a difference between having heart and basically not being good enough for Championship football. I would rather he said some of them are not championship standard. This is because they cannot perform consistently. I am still unsure how the financial straightjacket will influence us over this coming summer but I am quietly confident he will get the types he wants... and the players actually good enough..
  20. good point….regularly selected for the Republic Squad, although not a regular starter. Have they really got so few players or…. Do they see something we don’t.
  21. What’s the future hold for him in Bristol? I recall some years back he delayed signing the contract on the table by the club to see what his options were and nothing materialised from any other club.. here he is still. Perhaps that told a story. I recall him having one great game at Norwich some years back that I was at…and I think that’s about it, when I have left a stadium being really impressed by him. I do not doubt his work rate and effort and comes across in media as nice guy, but there is simply no end product, no goals, few assists, not a defender…not a particular exciting winger. Is it the management who are not getting the best out of him….or is he simply not a championship wide player. My own view is he will be gone in the summer….
  22. Thanks for a great write up as always. I died the death of a 1000cuts with a blunt knife listening on radio Bristol with Owers basically saying what you have said. joe Williams has to start now, he’s either fit or he’s not. COD another empty performance.
  23. Perhaps both parties got what they deserved. Heaven help anyone who buys into this lot. More compensation to be paid out…no doubt another club heading for the mire if they do not reach the promised land.
  24. Yep, it’s ‘nature’. The big fish always feed from the smaller fish. Just as we pinched Tanner, someone will at some stage do the same with us for HNM. (And Scott) Just hope the pull of HNM enjoying Bristol makes that day later rather than sooner.
  25. Opps… he is now on the YouTube Bristol City channel….speaks very well…compares us with Norwich in early days when they did many things right and few things wrong…not getting carried away exactly what we need now
