  1. "The new Bristol Energy Family Stand due to be built on the 3rd,4th & 5th September and will be in use for supporters for the match with Plymouth on September 8th. " So our new stands take just over a year to build. Theirs take 3 days
  2. Oh my word. It's actually happened. https://www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/2018/august/statement-stand-memorial-stadium/ "It is with great disappointment that we have to inform supporters that the two new stands due to be installed this summer will now not be ready in time for the start of the season."
  3. @Leveller Don't clear all of your cookies unless you want to be logged out of everything in your browser (social media, all other accounts inc. otib, etc). Just delete the one regarding sagchat ?
  4. How on earth can he come away thinking that we're the ones being ridiculous? He's been proven wrong about their fantasy policy of apparently not banning 'teds' unless they kick off, and just ignored it.
  5. I find it incredible how many of them are standing by HG when it's plainly obvious he's made the whole thing up . There would be no shame in saying ok fair enough, one of our fans is an idiot, every club has them. But they're still trying to talk as if what he's said is fact when it is blatantly obvious that it's horse****
  6. Another 12 month backing from Wael then. So it seems they're alright for now...
  7. Even though J18A is desperately needed, construction won't even begin until at least 2022 (for some absolutely bizarre reason). Given the amount of **** they're getting for this, I can't even imagine how difficult a new ground around there would be to plan. Can't see it myself.
  8. Except that off-the-field we probably match Cardiff if not better them in some aspects. Whereas Rovers are lightyears behind. And on-the-field, Cardiff are unlikely to be more than 15 places ahead of us even if they go up, as long as we have a decent season next year and hover around the play-offs. In which case Rovers would be at least 18 places off us. Not sure how you come to that logic.
  9. There it is again. They really are stupid aren't they?
  10. To be fair if they did go up, it would be hilarious watching them get battered every week. Some of the teams in this division would tear them apart.
  11. Yeah anyone not aware of Mr Watkins before now just needs to look at his Twitter account to gauge the kind of guy he is. In fairness a load of sag fans take the p*ss out of him as well. Not the brightest guy out there.
  12. They have zero profitability because they have nothing comparable to that which generates income for most Football League clubs. It used to be almost entirely attendance money (and to a lesser extent sponsorship) which made up the income, but since the 90's that has changed entirely, and that's why thanks to our investment we are finally turning the corner from a financial perspective. They simply don't have the facilities to generate that income. They don't have a decent number of boxes, VIP facilities, conference facilities, etc to make money every day of the week. Speaking from a completely unbiased perspective (or at least trying to), they are an attractive proposition for a very wealthy investor who doesn't mind taking a gamble. While there's no doubt they have a smaller fanbase than us, they do have potential for a much larger fanbase than some ex-Prem teams - given the size of Bristol I'd imagine they could eclipse the likes of Wigan, Bolton, etc. Their problem is that they really need so much investment before they can start turning a profit. Given their location near both town and Aztec West, they are actually in a prime position to attract the high-end sort of off-the-pitch revenue. Problem is, to take advantage of that, they need a new stadium, new training ground, enhanced youth, scouting and data programmes, etc. You're talking maybe £60m of investment needed, at which point you'd imagine their fanbase would grow, off-the-field revenue would absolutely soar and they'd start moving in the right direction. Basically, very high potential, but starting from a long, long way back. As it stands, I can't see anyone willing to take that gamble. And I can't say I'm complaining.
  13. Just spent the last 45 mins scouring the Internet to read all of the compliments about us. Had a gander on sagchat and pains me to say it but they're being very fair to us. I think in some ways it's a victory for real football fans v prem plastics. Give it a day anyways....
  14. Harsh on Mags. He’s had Traore and Downing up against him. Don’t get much better in the Championship
  15. Just misjudged the guys jumping in front of him. Feel sorry for him
  16. I'm certainly intrigued by all of this discussion revolving around potential administration for Rovers, but isn't it all hearsay? People speak about this £10m loan taken against the Mem as if it's common knowledge, but could it not just be an overblown rumour?
  17. Kingswood born here as well and grew up Mangotsfield-way. Certainly City fans dotted about all over the place.
  18. About 12,000. Though max home capacity can't have been much more than 13,500.
