  1. Good Luck to all those relocating to E34 or A block as it was. The ground is in dire need of some atmosphere . There’s no doubt that it has a positive effect on the team. Surely it only takes minimal security to keep opposite fans away from each other. I sit in C Block and I’m sure the singing will spread along to us. I really think the club need to get behind this a) because it can only be a positive and b) the crowd could well turn against the hierarchy.
  2. My Mrs has been trying to get family presents online for the whole extended family for City and Bears and she’s finding that there is barely anything in stock. I seem to recall her complaining about this in Christmases past and at various birthdays throughout the year. When I ordered a home kit (shirt) for a mates 50th birthday a few years back they sent 2 in the same package ! No wonder they have stock problems !
  3. Football is often like going to the pantomime in terms of crowd reaction. Gosling did at the time seem to be over reacting as he’d gone down without a challenge. Those who’d bothered to attend the mid week games against Sheffield United and Coventry City would have seen the constant faked injuries by Gosling’s fellow professionals to waste time. So while not at all nice for Gosling the reaction was brought on by what City fans have had to endure from his colleagues in recent weeks.
  4. A great listen. I’m half way through, will listen to the rest later . One of the great periods of supporting City, not just Jacki and Cole but a great support cast as well. Shame we didn’t have any defenders.
  5. Assume that would be in December/January then?
  6. Will matches this weekend be postponed should the Queen die ?
  7. Yes agree , crying out for an anthem that everybody can sing. And I have no idea of what that might be !
  8. I’ve seen The Stranglers 71 times so yes im a bit bias, but despite only being 52 your music taste with Bowie, The Clash and the Stranglers is PDG.
  9. 52 to young to fully appreciate the Clash and the Punk Scene. London Calling a fine album but I don’t think it’s lasted the test of time like Rattus Norvegicus or Never Mind the Bollocks. Anyway I’ll be leading the chant from Dolman 32 on Wednesday as I can’t come up with anything better.
  10. That’s a pretty good rewording of a great song that I wouldn’t of attributed to you ! I expect we’ll be singing it alone though.
  11. For what it’s worth I’d pick the starting line up from Sunday and take the wing backs and front three off after 60 mins. Continuity is good as is confidence , but the substitutions allow some rest for those who do the most mileage.
  12. Enclosure for me. But missed final as on first foreign holiday. Found out the result when the Sunday Papers arrived in Crete on the Monday. Celebrated all day !

    Parking

There’s a lot parking in the LA P&R now and outside it. It’s a 10-15 minute walk to the ground. Not sure if it’s open on Sundays. Definitely not on Bank Holidays. The only problem with parking at Ashton Court is that the one way system takes you the wrong way on leaving forcing you towards Bristol on Cumberland Basin or the carnage at Bower Ashton roundabout.
  14. It already has ! Not for me anymore. It’s reactionary, self-righteous, egocentric rubbish by 2 blokes who failed to make it in media and have jumped on the band wagon of podcasts.
  15. I haven’t read any of the other comments on Vyner, but in my opinion he’s not anywhere good enough a defender to cut it in the championship. He’s a decent football, perhaps a fullback or midfield player but even then not in the CC. I’m sure he’s only still here because of injuries but lesson surely learnt ?
  16. Ashton Park was a more than decent pitch. Flat and lots of grass.
  17. Best Wishes Nick in your fight. Hope you make a full recovery and resuming your career shortly .
  18. I got to know him quite well while doing some Uber driving a few years back. Picked him up quite a few times as we both lived in Congresbury at the time. I know nothing of his ability as a footballer but he’s very motivated and a genuinely nice lad.
  19. I can’t see him turning up trees wherever his career might take him as his attitude is all wrong. He certainly did look a good player at times with all the attributes of solid midfielder but most of the time he was anonymous other than a body language that suggested he’d given up.
  20. No idea , it was a tenner last season. But 5 minute walk up the road it’s free in the P&R Car Park .
  21. There’s good banter, witty banter, intelligent banter and brain-dead banter. I’m with the OP.
  22. I remember the game and your correct . Drew 0-0 but Donowa missed a late sitter. I think that was a pretty average attendance for Newcastle that season .
