  1. I wouldn’t boo them. They both did well for Bristol City, but football is very much like pantomime as the players know. They get very well paid and know they have to put up with the childishness that comes their way.
  2. I’ve no idea what the situation is but he does appear to be very heavy legged. It takes him a while to get up to full pace. I’d suspect a back injury .
  3. Are you sure you didn’t confuse him with Zac Vyner who also had a great game but lost the plot during added time ?
  4. What is it your hoping for ? At least one third of you seem to want failure to suit some sort of personal agenda . I was about in the 70’s as well. On the pitch after the Portsmouth game and as a young lad I knew a lot of the team well and still do. After listening to your podcast (which I appreciate is a passion for you and it’s professionally done) I found it very refreshing to listen to the latest OSIB offering and read Stanley’s blog. I regained the will to live and will attend tomorrow with hope in my heart.
  5. God isn’t it awful ( & depressing) ?
  6. Lacks the humour of OSIB and the balance of 3 peeps for me. Very negative feel to it.
  7. I can’t listen to that Ian Gay person. What an arrogant, self-righteous, attention-seeking idiot . It’s all about him. He was moaning during the promotion season telling us all that Cotterill was clueless. He was at it again last night on what was a very good first half performance and a great Rorke’s Drift 2nd half battle . Loves the sound of his own voice. Radio Bristol really needs to change the format of post match show.
  8. Not only was the Scott incident a penalty it was a Red Card !
  9. You should be giving Nige a call, I’m quite happy to lend you my Mrs to babysit.
  10. It’s approx 15 minutes to the stadium. Not a nice walk now that it’s dark as it’s unlit ( you’ll need a torch), there’s a narrow footpath adjacent to David Lloyd Sports Centre that is rather overgrown, and then a narrow pavement alongside the A370 which is full of holes and puddles forcing you to walk on the busy road.
  11. I watched an u/23 match against Cardiff and he was the best player on the pitch . Surprised he didn’t make it. He had a very, very attractive, bubbly northern girlfriend who was stood next to me. She told me all about their flat on the harbour side !
  12. Firstly Chris Martin needs a rest as he’s not contributing and has looked knackered the last 2 games. There’s a few short-term options to replace him (Wells or Weimann and hopefully Conway and Semenyo soon). Secondly we need some width. In the short term play O’Dowda but look to get in a winger in January. Barnsley had a decent left winger on Saturday. Need leaders on the pitch. I don’t see or hear anyone encouraging or advising out there. Get Williams back in the team when he’s ready. That will help . Most importantly need to do whatever is required to buy a forward, a winger and holding midfield player. If that means selling Bentley so be it. Ideally Brownhill will be sold by Burnley for big bucks and allow us to use the ‘sell-on’ money.
  13. I was there as a 10 year old with my Uncle and cousin. We missed kick off due to traffic and stood with home supporters. I remember my cousin and I thinking it was hilarious trying to speak like Brummies. We had to keep quiet when we scored but were soon outed but allowed to join City fans at half-time. My uncles van which had the name of his Bristol company on it was badly vandalised when we got back to it .
  14. Can they change their name back to Bristol Academy when they lose and back to Bristol City when they win ?
  15. He might not be what you see in the Premiership but there’s not many as good as him in the championship. He was everywhere today, making chances, tackling, closing down opposition, being a pest and showing experience.
  16. I think we could as long as politicians, councillors, planners and health & safety aren’t involved.
  17. Undoubtedly true, but Blair didn’t exactly change society for the better either.
  18. I think that’s a fair comment, and it’s not right to generalise about a generation but comments I’ve seen and heard over the last few weeks come across as seriously “I’m alright Jack”. Personally I’m self-employed and worried about the economic impact but I’m more than a little concerned about my elderly relatives as well as my partner whose due surgery next week.
  19. What’s upset me most about this whole Corona Virus episode has been the dismissal of older people and those more vulnerable by lots of younger people. Don’t they have older relatives ? Don’t they know anybody who has diabetes, heart disease, etc ? For me it’s really confirmed what I had feared about society , that it’s become selfish in a way that it’s never been before.
  20. L As a PH Driver in Bristol I’m often asked if I’m from the Red half or Blue half of the town. I always reply I’m from the Red two thirds, but I’m soon going to have to say the Red Three Quarters.
  21. The Stranglers are all alive including Jet who recently celebrated his 80th birthday but is now a non-playing member. Baz is a big Sunderland fan but he has banter in every town they play in re the local team. It’s only that he’s never heard of that lot in North Bristol that he picks on City when down here. He’s a top bloke as was/is Hugh.
  22. I guess we’ve all got a bit of ‘sad’ in us. I never went to watch Rugby at the Mem once Rovers stole it. But I go quite regularly to the Gate. I’ve no idea what’s going on but I enjoy it and it’s more social than football. I don’t go home sober.
  23. Just over a thousand according to their own ****** summariser on Radio Bristol. I turned the radio on while washing up and it was still tuned into Radio Bristol from Saturday (Swansea) before anyone asks. And in the 15 minutes it was on they conceded twice, but were unlucky and the best team according to the ******.
