And Johnson took Paul Hartley and Maynard off...
-
He's a very good manager. Hugely underrated

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/65909639 Interesting that someone already involved in the Rugby league team now owns Wigan Athletic.

What is it about signing for the most successful European club side in history that is a problem from a footballing perspective?

Alex Scott - £25m to Bournemouth- Confirmed

A January move wouldn't make much sense unless the club buying him is elite and wants to guarantee getting him for the long term. A struggling club is going to struggle to persuade him to join with the possibility of them ending up in the Championship. IF it is elite then it would also open up the possibility of him remaining here on loan for the rest of the season. West Ham and Brighton seem the likeliest to me this summer because they're both in the Europa League and so you'd think he'd get decent gametime. Both are likely to need to recruit players in his position having got very good fees for players who left. -
for those who use the changing rooms on the downs

Their idea of a double changing room was an extra square foot. Seriously though £1.5 million? Pull the other one -
Side of the Coopers...

Isn't it? Marvellous.

I think they should give Challenge cup places to Jersey and Ealing. I suspect they'd do okay as they'd be bang up for it.

Webster won't be leaving Brighton I would think. The basis of their success for 3 years has been him and Dunk and they know it. Likes of Cucarella, Ben White etc have done very little in comparison to those 2 but Brighton brilliantly exploited that and silly money, especially for Cucarella. -
Wonder if this deal is a precursor to a more lucrative and high profile one in the opposite direction?

Does the financial year end 31st May or 30th June for FFP?
-
Not now he wouldn't

It's Not a thinking thing. It's an informal arrangement. England get there best players available in exchange there are a few others picked from these clubs which boosts the reputation of the elite academies. I'm genuinely angry that Dane Scarlett has been favoured over Jebbison ftom Sheffield United. Appalling decision
-
Plymouth are bigger than Millwall and Preston. Just so far from everyone else they get forgotten..
-
Our manager really messed that scenario up. 3 players off the plane having missed 3 games and he starts 2 of them. That's so patently a poor decision from all angles. If he'd left them on the bench he'd have been in such a stronger position. And I still cannot get my head around that Jebbison not even getting on the pitch. England clearly have an agreement with the 'big 6' about picking their Academy players. The 2 Chelsea players down our left aren't good enough and one of them is the captain? Scott and Edwards looked like the actual leaders.
-
He was falling over before he was touched..
-
True. I was assuming that Gyabi is a CM so one of those 2 moves forward. We need more intelligence going forward. Why on earth that Jebbison isn't on I do not know.
-
I would push Scott forward as we need an outlet who can keep hold of the ball further up. Chuckie is best carrying it forward from deep.
-
We have 3 defenders marking 1 and 2 CMs marking 3....
-
Keeper's got to do better though
-
Devine will stay in that position and Chumbawumba will play deeper. He always gets up again when he gets knocked down...
-
How much of their success is down to him though?
-
Best technical player is Scott. Easily

It’s going to bad a interesting league next season
The Bard replied to sticks 1969's topic in Football Chat
Bookies are mostly rich because most people who bet place mug bets. Betting on the most likely outcome but at unfavourable odds. This means they tend to offer poor odds on certain outcomes (Man Utd winning anything for example) but that means that the less favoured outcomes (Luton 40/1) are overpriced. What strikes me about next years odds is a direct comparison between us and Stoke. Almost identical in terms of crowds , we finished above them in the league yet we're 40/1 & they're 20/1. Can only be explained by perception.
