  1. Yeah, nightmare watching him score 22 goals from there the other year wasn't it?
  2. I think Nige is holding back on the last signing. He wants to see if Naismith and McRorie are okay and the other defenders okay come the end of August. If they are the money left will go on a keeper. If he thinks we need an extra CB, the money will be spent on that. There's also the advantage of saving on wages until then. Expect a signing 2 to 3 days before the deadline. When you think about it, it is about risk management. There's a risk Max might get seriously injured, If he does then we need another keeper without question. If Vyner or Dickie get injured we need a CB without question.
  3. So you're saying we're behaving like a well run club?
  4. So, you would assume that by now Mr Lansdown is possibly making a nice profit from the overall collection of entities?
  5. So, I assume that Pula is based offshore and hence that is why it owns everything? Are their accounts published?
  6. I remember most of those differently 1982 Flattered to deceive. 1986 Started terrible, unlucky at the end. 1990 Could've won it if we'd been better in shoot out 1994 dnq as manager not up to it 1998 Shoot out loss. Difficult to gauge how good we could've been 2002 Flattered to deceive. 2006 Flattered to deceive with strongest set of players in my memory (bluffer manager). Penalties again 2010 dog shit 2014 dog shit 2018 excellent performance with relatively weak side. 2022 Opportunity missed. Penalties again..
  7. I disagree. We would only stop playing him when we agree a fee. Why change our plans to give our best player a game because another club might be about to offer a fee for a player that we might accept?
  8. Max Mcrorie Vyner Dickie Pring James Knight Cornick Weimann Bell Conway Sub A Goalie, Tanner, Roberts, Naismith, Williams, King, Sykes, Wells, Mehmeti Really difficult to read though. Think Max, the CBs and Matty James are nailed on. All the other starting positions are highly debatable. The sign of a strong squad
  9. I don't think this is as far fetched as Graham thinks. A 4 year deal with a substantial wage increase and a buy out clause would make a lot of sense. The thing that works against that is the potential knock on effect with the expectations of the other younger players. It would immediately stop all this messing about with lower bids plus add ons. It would give Scott a wage he is worth at this level of football and give us a guarantee of a fee. There is a lot to be said for removing doubt from a scenario.
  10. I listened to the first half on the radio and they were saying that their team are young, have been together for almost 10 years. Loads of them are at US Universities and are starting to get contracts with big US & European clubs. Sounds like they'll be a force and will improve.
  11. England 's Centre backs are a massive worry for me.
  12. Showing ambition has nothing to do with not selling players. It's to do with being smart, making decisions with a medium to long term goal
  13. 2 seasons ago, 4 4 2 predicted Barnsley would win the league even after Ishmael had left for West Brom. They were relegated.
  14. I went to the game in March and quite frankly I don't blame them if they don't. Sizeable number of our support that day were just embarrassing little Englanders.
  15. Think someone needs to request that UEFA officials, press, 'dignitaries', corporate sponsors etc don't do it as well. Otherwise it's just yet another case do as we say not as we do..
  16. 17. I guess so. The margin of profit seems like it might be slender though. Especially when you consider the revenue that the club won't get from having the game at home..
  18. That's a bit harsh. Wait till next season's EFL TV deal kicks in..... What I don't get about this is why is it our home game being moved? Surely it would make sense for it to be Gloucester's home game. Saracens move from a 10,000 crowd to 55,000 at Spurs which makes sense. Few miles down the road. If they get 40,000 in Cardiff rather than 22,000 in Bristol, what has been achieved? Except for me starting drinking earlier in the day than I would if the game had been at Ashton Gate...
  19. Bristol Bears home game v Gloucester is being moved to the Millenium Stadium apparently. My money's on it being 2nd December which would explain them moving the Norwich game to the Sunday.
  20. Think people are going to be disappointed. Think we'll go with what we have and keep our powder dry for now. Sense it will be an interesting January window though, especially if we are Challenging.
  21. If I were a bookie, I'd price Wolves as the favourites to sign him. Not by much though.
  22. I don't know. I suspect he has good accountants though. There are various mechanisms available to manoeuvre profit and loss around the various companies I'm sure
