  1. Peter principle... How much due diligence have we done? And I don't mean Tinnion watching Oxford.
  2. Largely agree Harry. As others have said, the way this has been done speaks of incompetency elsewhere. Nige had to manage up more than any other manager I can think of. Manning has clear coaching credentials. Can he deal with interference? With attempts to get under 21s involved when he isn't convinced by them? Who is his sounding board within the club? The current set up is a power vacuum.
  3. He was catastrophic at wing back v Coventry. Lucky to last 38 minutes
  4. No it wasn't. It was done to get control of aspects of the club that they'd ceded to Pearson. The family wanted their trusted set up of inexperienced head coach with malleable CEO type person who can take the shit for them.
  5. Maybe he's looked at what's happened and thought wrong club. Understandable
  6. Means that they are someone who probably over coaches themselves
  7. If he is then it really does show what an arsewipe he is.
  8. This. One of the reasons why a foreign appointment wouldn't be the worst idea

Was that at Fulham? Odemwingie, Odemwengie, etc to the tune of hang the DJ.
  10. Bullshit. If you're going to criticise him at least bother to be accurate
  11. Literally 100s of people in and of there today.
  12. But, the day when the media aren't there. Press conference is Thursday..
  13. That's such a vague comment it's untrue
  14. I'm not itk. Heard from 2 unconnected secondary sources. Either bs from same primary source or true.
  15. Classic example of people looking at something with too narrow a lens. 1. The idea that the longer rest period is negligent is imbecilic. It's clearly a decision taken with the WHOLE season in mind. 2. It's not just physical but also mental/ emotional rest too. 3. There was no discernible drop in fitness. We were rusty and there have been More in game injuries certainly. We saw out the Coventry game well and came on strong 2nd half v Ipswich. 4. Decision is All about delayed gratification. You'dve thought SL would understand that. 5. It's not ironic to criticise someone's unqualified criticism of someone highly qualified in their field. What is ironic is for someone unqualified to offer their unqualified criticism of someone else's unqualified criticism of another person's unqualified criticism of someone highly qualified in their field. I would've thought that was clear.
  16. Clearly a long term decision. Get both physical and mental rest before basically 5 months with no break from November to March. We have finished the last 2 seasons strongly. One imagines that there will be lno rest in November as the new coach will want time coaching the team.
  17. We didn't look unfit at all (we got stronger as the game went on). We looked undercooked and, as you say, out of sorts. Possibly that's due to not actually kicking a ball much rather than fitness.
  18. Commonly thought it's £15k a week which seems about right for a proven Championship player on a free
  19. The bare faced cheek of Jon Lansdown talking about excessive rest. I guess spending months on end in Bermuda isn't an 80 hours a week work fest.
  20. Yep, we always played like our heads were full of a load of convoluted tactical crap which would've happened with 2 weeks of Overcoaching
  21. Think you've nailed the pretext for the sacking right there. Tinnion referenced fitness without specifically saying this was the reason. Given this period is when the rumours about Pearson being removed started in earnest, they would've been watching intently for anything that they could point at as justification for sacking. Having negligent assistants could be used. As someone said, the Coventry result probably scuppered their plans.
  22. The rumour about Rennie and Euell giving players extra time off in Pearson's absence is the rumour that fits neatest.
