  1. But he has to be sold if he doesn't sign a contract. Maybe best to do that now. We're in a position of strength with Scott. His value should hopefully increase over the next 2 years as he's on a 4 year deal. Massengo's will nosedive on 1st September if a contract isn't signed. I can see us accepting a bid tbh. Would give us leeway to deal with the more awkwatd situations..
  2. Not with the agreements they signed.. I thought Cook sailed as close to the line as feasible leaving you in no doubt what happened and at whose behest without pointing the finger at Ashton. Rolls is a useful patsy for Ashton isn't he? Less popular and less competent. Perfect to soak up the ire.
  3. I can recall Pearson saying something along the lines of 'Callum knows what he needs to do to get a new contract' when he came back into the side. I can't see us taking the option but like Davefevs says we may look at a similar arrangement to what we have with Weimann. You get the impression Nigel has a clear idea what players are worth which is a refreshing change.
  4. I think we'll get 60 points come the end. Keep things steady and have 1 half decent unbeaten run and we'll manage that. We'll be as close to the play offs as the bottom 3.
  5. He's 19 and about 6 foot 3. People do fill out.
  6. He totally deserved player of the year last season. No one is arguing with that. However his standards have dropped a little this season and O'Leary has been given a go. That's it really. Thinking longterm we need 2 keepers who are up to it and you only get that if they both get an opportunity to pay.
  7. He at least Got stuck in towards the end. First half he was uninterested. Would've been hooked at ht on another day but there were 2 candidates in front in the queue...
  8. I thought he was let down by O Dowda yesterday who was a passenger for 70 minutes. Thought he carried the left side tbh.
  9. Yes and no. End of the day Towler recalled as we're struggling specifically with Baker. We need to see if he is ready to be a squad member so he needs to be put in the side. Against a decent strike force tofmdsy he struggled so I'd say he needs league 2 experience and recall Taylor Moore...
  10. Correcting errors in team selection is the sign of a good manager. Have you ever managed an actual football team? You know with humans playing as opposed to a computer game? Whether their male / female young or old they have good and bad days. Having the honesty and decisiveness to see what's happening and change it is possibly the clearest sign of a good manager
  11. Sorry this is complete rubbish. He's more of a threat wide or behind than heciscas a striker. Scored a hat trick today from wide / in behind a striker
  12. That would be the case. I would hope we find a youngish keeper who would come in and be ready to compete with Max for the shirt but do so without being paid £10k a week or having a fee of several million. It shouldn't be too difficult.
  13. Which was entirely sensible as usual. Sent a clear message to the whole squad as well as Bentley. No one is undroppable
  14. I thought O'Leary did well and seems a a safer option. Calmer demeanour, more considered and accurate distribution ( throw out to Semenyo 2nd half on the right wing an example). Bentley is probably more capable of the spectacular but the flip side of that is he's got a howler in him. O'Leary needs a few games now to see if he can really own the shirt given the chance.
  15. You're gonna love it on Sunday when he starts with Massengo
  16. Because the referee had his back turned the entire time....
  17. They do realise they have yet to publish their accounts? Loss of £16 million last year that was predicted to worsen this.
  18. Was going to ask if we're one of the first to publish our accounts? If so, I think that's a sound strategy. Lay the facts out and stand back and see how our rivals compare. Emphasise that we're working with the EFL to stay within the limits etc. Completely different look to the litigious approach of Derby for example.
  19. Obviously Brexit and Covid are to blame!
  20. https://fawslfulltime.co.uk/2021/12/27/sign-these-players-employ-these-staff-coventry-united-boss-bradfords-emotional-message/
  21. There absolutely has to be a maximum of 1 Olly/Ollie per team. It's getting to Mitchell type levels. No wonder we're shit.
  22. Bears accounts released today - loss of £3.5 million. Entirely due to Covid though...
  23. 100% agree, We are up shit creek but we have a paddle in that the person in charge is completely realistic and has the skillset to see us through the 2 to 3 years it is going to take to reset the club to be a functioning, well run Championship club. Also happy that the CEO gets on with his job rather than using the role for his own ends.
