  1. It did because Johnson made a mess of using him. If we're short of CBs I'd rather have Towler as back up than have to source another CB from elsewhere
  2. We did this with Cundy last season. Gillingham to Cambridge
  3. On what planet is Boro a gold game?
  4. Trouble with having a plan b 'oven ready' is you default to it without properly considering your options at the time. I worry it simply won't work and so people will be adhering to something that is blunt.
  5. That's plausible. As I said above I can see a RM coming in January on low wages from League 1 or 2.
  6. To gradually move out players that are under contract and move in ones that the manager wants. This will take 2 to 3 years due to contract length. Develop homegrown players so they are regularly playing 1st team football. I'd hope we have 4 or 5 younger players involved in 2 years time. Unfortunately can't see Scott staying as he looks a very good player and we could use a large fee. By doing the 2 things above we should have a team that can challenge for top 6. Sort infrastructure out fully including DOF and recruitment. It's all blindingly obvious to me can't understand why you can't work it out for yourself.
  7. Seems to me that Nige has accepted that 3 5 2 / 3 4 3 best suits the players we have at the moment. Any signing now will need to plug a gap in the squad till the summer and be a long term option too. Assuming Cundy is fit eventually it would give us 5 options at CB with the option of recalling Moore in January. Pring and COD cover LWB assuming JD has been thrown off the bus. Tanner RWB... We've got 7 CMs including Benarous and Scott and 4 strikers plus Conway. Seems to me we need an option who can play RWB or right side of a midfield 4 should Nige want to go back to 4 4 2 long term. I expect us to sign someone unheralded from League 1 or League 2

Palmer is going to turn out to be one of the biggest wastes of money in our history. £3 million on fee plus £4 million in wages. For what precisely?
  9. It's going to be a farce. Come early to stand around indoors eating, drinking and talking. THat's the best way to beat Covid. It's creating more queues
  10. Or... Are they deliberately pushing the attendance below 10,000 so the rules don't apply?
  11. E mail from club just arrived encouraging everyone to arrive early and take advantage of 20% off. In the concourse. Nothing about face masks inside at all. So there will probably be a significant number of people carrying Covid inside the concourse on Saturday, but they're jabbed so it's okay.
  12. People need to vote with their feet rather than screaming about it and then paying it anyway...
  13. Being captain has made this problem worse. I think O Leary is an excellent keeper but he is hampered as Bentley would have to get injured or have a calamitous loss of form to be dropped.
  14. The people making these decisions are paid a lot of money for really straight forward stuff but continuously mess it up. The 1000's of adults who could go, simply won't bother. It may attract non-season card holders with kids. Perhaps that's the idea. Try to get rid of us 'legacy' fans..
  15. It's Like a bum deal in cards sn't it? Just do it again otherwise it does look like a fix
  16. Just waiting for the conspiracy nuts to jump on this. Deliberately messed up the draw so that there would be another draw...
  17. Think you need to digest what Graham C said above...
  18. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/59626553 A cracking article showing up the utter ineptitude of our batting save except for Root. If Burns is our 2nd best batsman, we're ****ed.
  19. Can you not see that a load of young players are cutting their teeth at the moment and doing okay? That we've been left in a mess by Ashton and fingers crossed are recovering from it without the usual relegation to League 1. It might not be inspiring but it does mean that if we do recover we will be in a strong position over the next few years. In the long term this is far more important that signing 4th choice Chelsea players for £millions.
  20. The old 'All politicians are the same' bullshit. Quite simply they aren't are they? They differ and If a population believes that they're all the same, they will end up with the most corrupt, least competent and the biggest liars in charge.
  21. Games should only be postponed on public health advice. If sides can get a squad of 14 out the game should go ahead.
  22. I'm telling you that he could have been got rid of at any point as he has a list of misdemeanours as long as any British Politician in my lifetime. He's not being framed is he? He's as guilty as a puppy next to a pile of poo.
  23. Boris is being framed? You muppet. Only thing with Boris is to choose which of his multiple lies, corrupt acts or incompetence to use to get rid of him. He's always been a dead man walking.
  24. That's more to do with "is that person carrying an explosive device or weapon'
  25. That wasn't my point. The Prime minister has no concept of personal responsibility and that's why he's been popular with a lot of people inspite of being useless. A lot of people see themselves in him. However, this is the real world and it will always catch up with such a serial bullshitter ( a la Mark Ashton).
