  1. Thing is there's a 14 day break so unlikely anyone will be risked for a game we're likely to lose.
  2. You didn't mention Mr Ashton's previous involvement at the club... We'll get away with it just because there are a few car crashes below us. As you have posted elsewhere the recruitment side of the club simply has to be sorted asap. I'd feel a lot more confident if it was..
  3. I said your post irritated me. I didn't say you weren't allowed an opinion.
  4. Looking at what we have now and what we need, I would go Ayling, Webster, Eliasson, Smith, Reid. Not maybe the best 5 players but all have attributes we desperately need right now.
  5. These sort of posts irritate me as the clear impact of rules around finance are dismissed as being made up. By a Swindon fan!
  6. We're 10 points clear of Hull Barnsley and Derby. Just beaten 1 of them with Derby 14 points behind with a further points deduction likely. It doesn't look likely. It does look disappointing though.
  7. My point was that whenever we have midweek league games the knackered older players should be rotated for their own protection and the young Cubs should get a sniff. Do that over the season and you will have hopefully got the best out your older players whilst giving your younger players a taste of the Championship. What concerns me is the risk of injury to the older players that means we have to put 2 or 3 of the younger ones in together when they're probably not ready for that.
  8. I said to @Harry when Massengo came on there was the potential this could go pear shaped with those 2 together. Both are headless and need a grounded player next to them. In hindsight at this point it would've been better to have gone to a back 4, moved Vyner into CDM and had Bakinson and Massengo either side of him. Probably wouldn't have made a difference but at least someone would've occupied the middle of the pitch.
  9. Whatever formation we play, I am not a fan of starting all 3 of them at the moment. It increases the risk of injury and puts the manager in the position where he can't really change things off the bench. Apart from that 5 minute spell on Saturday they have produced nothing together and any front 3 needs one player with the ability to go past an opponent. Given their age and injury records, surely it would make sense for our current 3 games in 8 days to mix + match. Give each player 2 starts and 1 sub appearance. If we want to play a 3 why not use that as an opportunity to give the likes of Benarous and Scott starts without us being too reliant on them.
  10. True. The effect on Bakinson was staggering. Went from being our best player to looking totally lost.

I watch both football and rugby and if you think he's irritating at football, he's in a different dimension of irksomeness at rugby. Whenever there's an injury delay they cut to him to 'create some atmosphere' including 'Simba cam'. It definitely changes the atmosphere where I sit, but not in the way he wants. The quicker he ***** off to Primark FM the better.
  12. I see little similarity in attitude and I wonder why anyone does? JET by his nature was hit and miss. Off days and on. You accepted the misses because you knew you'd get the hits. Palmer has Chelseaitis or whatever the scouts call it. Seems very nice, almost too nice but needs to actually impose himself on games.

Very well put. One thing I would add is that to me this is a classic double standard. Just because in this case the male on male objectification Carry's less threat than the Male on female objectification you describe doesn't mean it is acceptable. It isn't. Do straight female employees or women who work in Rugby tweet like that? No. They aren't fools and want to be taken seriously. They would've probably experienced the sexism and objectification themselves in all likelihood that this ***** clearly hasn't.

  15. He's not fit to lace JET's boots. Strip away the "Chelsea" veneer and he isn't all that. JET produced and literally won games singlehandedly. Palmer has skill but is ineffectual having the really bad habit of giving the ball away in dangerous positions.

How many more letters are going to be added? It's getting silly.
  17. He is. No one sounds the right note all the time though..
  18. He won't go there. Destined for a big club...
  19. Yeah but all that has happened is a bloke in his 60s has announced he is retiring.. The rest is imaginary
  20. Jesus there are some weird people around. Angry about nothing whatsoever. 66 year old bloke announces that he's retiring and that elicits a load of racist, sexist and homophobic nonsense about being PC.
  21. Spot on. It's aimed at the whole squad. An indication he will not accept mental weakness. Shape up or shove off. It didn't stop Tanner getting selected next game. I much prefer this to the LJ policy of naming them in post match interviews then banishing them for months before picking them out the blue for a big game. I can remember that being done with the likes of Adelukan at Leeds for example.
  22. For someone miles off of it he did quite a lot. He wasn't great but frankly he wasn't helped by his team mates. I will remind the original poster of this in the years to come. I think he's got a future
  23. I think my point is, perhaps Alex Ball comes under the 2nd category? You'd hope so as Nige has been in place for 8 months and so has seen him work. Willing to jettison 2 experienced coaches to enable him to step up. A CV means a lot less than actually seeing someone work. He may have a name or 2 in mind long term but perhaps the imperative from his point of view was removing 2 people who don't get what he wants.
