  1. Listen I don't know your friends, and this will probably sound rude, but they don't half sound infantile. And that is basically the problem if you ask me. Literally millions of people who don't understand the concept of personal responsibility. Johnson really is their Prime Minister.
  2. The new variant clearly spreads quicker. It also appears to be milder. If it was looking more severe we'd be ******. That will mean more cases but a lower percentage of these cases leading to serious illness. What we don't know is whether the total number of serious illness cases will increase. Depends on the exact percentages and numbers and will probably only become clear around Christmas. Any scientist or mathematician would be cautious in this scenario but the experts on OTIB know better
  3. He's not the sort of player they need right now. Much better suited going for experienced Premiership types and paying them shedloads. Dunk, Webster, Mings, Tarkowski, Coady, Mee, Bednarek. 1 of those plus maybe a Kelly type. They also need a midfielder of the ilk of Ward-Prowse. Get 2 leaders in now as well as 2 or 3 proven players where needed. Best off raiding their immediate rivals as they need to first overtake the likes of Southampton, Leeds and Palace.
  4. It's all happening much quicker with them than us and there are a few contributory factors. 1. The players are not as good as the squad we had in 2016. Ayling, Flint, Baker, Bryan, Pack, Smith, Freeman, Reid, Kodjia. He's assembled the current Ipswich squad more or less. It's down to him and he's made no secret of it. 2. He was insulated from criticism by Steve Lansdown who appeared publicly when we were doing crap and backed the manager. Ashton was nowhere. Now Ashton is front and centre and having made the mistake of sacking a perfectly competent manager. Attention will turn to him sharpish as the penny drops amongst the less delusional Ipswich fans.
  5. This URC is a complete disaster isn't it? Tournament involving long haul travel in the middle of a pandemic. What could possibly go wrong?? I don't get why the game couldn't have been played on weekend of 29th January when the Bears don't have a league game. Rugby is tinpot sometimes
  6. Scarlets game is off. BEars get 5 points. Need 1 win from 3 to get to next round...
  7. Just seem Mcgreal rejoined the club as an under 23s coach last week!! And now he's manager of the first team. . What a coincidence
  8. If he wins 2 games on the spin he'll be permanent manager. Someone tractable and dismissable as far as Ashton is concerned.
  9. That's nice for you. Was Ryan Lowe there?
  10. Absolutely. Doing anything other than sticking the ball back up in the air was asking for trouble.

    Young guns

That's probably why Simpson and Downing went and the under 23 coach was promoted...
  12. Not a love in is it? Just a defence against OTT criticism.
  13. Excellent first half. As soon as Derby asserted themselves in midfield he faded.
  14. Can remember that game. Cup tie when Villa were champions.. won the European cup 5 months later
  15. It didn't come out of nothing mate. It came because Randall took a quick tap penalty near their line but their defence were set and turned the ball over, exited and went down the other end to score. If we'd taken the easy 3 points we'd have gone 5 ahead with the ball being kicked back to us from kick off. We were on top at that time... Stupidity. If Eddie Jones sees that Randall is toast for England,
  16. Germany 103,000 Covid Deaths, 84 Million population UK 145,000 Covid deaths, 68 Million population Sorry but that is what really matters isn't it? Stop swallowing their bullshit
  17. Number 5 doesn't ring true.
  18. I can see it taking some time before he matures as a player and he'll be long gone and we wouldn't have made much on him.
  19. If you look at the fixtures for the African cup of nations it will affect the 3rd and 4th rounds of the FACup plus 2 league games. For Liverpool that's Palace and Brentford. Chelsea have Man City and Spurs. It probably won't make too much difference. Depends how Egypt, Senegal , Algeria etc do really.
  20. Not the point is it? Wimbledon men would hammer Chelsea women because they are bigger stronger and quicker. Not because they are more tactically nuanced or better managed. They don't need a male coach to be bigger, stronger and quicker do they? Or even someone with experience of that level of football. Management is about making the most of what you got through organisation, communication, recruitment etc. Give Emma Hayes a half decent budget at League 1 level and I suspect she'll be successful even if there would be a constant media circus around her. She demonstrably has the skill set to succeed.
