“Bristol City are the biggest team from the biggest city that’s never been in and so of course on one level, it’s a source of absolute frustration,” he said.
“But I know it’s also a source of frustration to our owner and benefactor Steve who nobody, no Bristol City fan can have any criticism of the way he has run that club.
“We got to the playoffs. We were only a Dean Windass overhead kick from the Premier League at that point and so we can get close again.”
Taken from an article dated 15/02/2022
I don’t recall Windass scoring from an overhead kick ...

Oh no, they are coming for us!
Hang on a minute, they'll still be a division below us even if they go up mind the gap 22 years and counting
Yep - if they go up they’ll spend the summer spouting off about how they will soon be the top club in Bristol and then the fixture lists will be published and they’ll realise they will probably have to get past the likes of Sheffield Wednesday, Charlton, Bolton, Pompey, Sunderland, Barnsley and Derby before they can even contemplate getting close to our level ... sad, deluded souls in da famous quarterz ... they once believed they were suddenly the sixth richest club in English football, where did it all go wrong?!

When it does, there's what feels like a seven second wait for the inevitable. Probably better to have the suspense killed by knowing it's going in.

Sorry my mistake you are correct.
No problem chief - they’ve got quite a few players on loan haven’t they? So their ‘promotion heroes’ would soon bugger off back to better clubs if they go up, leaving them sparse, exposed and as vulnerable as ever ... shame

They need to go up or that team will be broken up. The 2 young centre backs are being scouted by teams higher up the pyramid for starters.
Haven’t they got those two young centre backs on loan though? From Cardiff and Stoke? So they aren’t their own players anyway? I could be wrong ...

Sorry my mistake
No need to apologise sticks - it’s probably better for this fixture to be on a bank holiday than a Tuesday evening - I remember when a reporter travelled with around 19 Exeter fans as they followed their team to Darlington for a midweek fixture - proper loyalty ...

Pearson and Derby. What happened? He got sacked in not much time at all, on paper looked a very good appointment. He's not exactly someone who demands a big chequebook or at least with us he seems comfortable not doing so- different at Derby?
I dare say given time and patience Derby might have been better off under him than they have subsequently ended up but then again one game from glory in 2019.
Interested in why the arrangement came to such a quick end and did he deserve more time?
Allegedly Mel Morris insisted on using drones to observe NP’s training sessions from afar - Nigel obviously objected to this and was suspended due to his protestations on the matter ...

... at the end of the day if you look at the South West/ West Country they are behind us, Plymouth and Swindon in every way.
... and Yeovil Town and Forest Green Rovers both have much better stadiums than da roverzzzz - whilst FGR are also way ahead of da famous quarterz on the pitch too ... those poor souls who occasionally frequent the Mem, when it isn’t raining, just can’t grasp their true status in the West Country footballing hierarchy ... but never forget, they are “bigger than Norwich City” and their away support is “on a par with Liverpool, West Ham, Wolves and Sunderland” - they do make me chuckle ...

Goodbye Irene Goodbye Irene the gas are going down, sung from all 3 of our stands in complete unison.
.... I’m sure ‘Goodbye’ was in fact ‘F@ck off’ ... but it was spectacularly loud, I can remember local tv commenting during the highlights “and the roverzzz fans continue to chant their anthem” when the coverage picked up on our disparaging version, pathetic - as their hero Darrell would say: “Happy days” ...

I’ve had ‘one of our own’ swear at me with intense venom just because I didn’t stand up if I hated the Gas when he wanted me to.
Me too, my ‘crime’ was not singing ‘...and it’s hi ho, Bristol City...’ at Wembley - he bellowed in my face demanding to know why I wasn’t singing - I simply replied “I don’t recall seeing you at Port Vale away” - he wilted like a piece of spinach and slid back into his seat ... why would someone like that bellow obscenities at a fellow fan?! Bizarre

I’ll take it from your silence and zero reply, or evidence, that you made this up @Ivorguy - how ‘strange’ - with no pun intended!

Whenever I see the scenes at West Ham it always reminds me of the disdain the Uefa/Europa Cup has been shown by UK teams at times. Villa for example under MOL.

Detached from what most fans want I think.
I struggle with these abbreviations - who is “MOL” ?!
