  1. The 4-2 at Coventry is pretty impressive. Could be goals at both ends with this one.
  2. Was just having a read of a Reddit thread on this. Some of the ignorance of wilful ignorance of fans of clubs comparing penalty records is laughable.. Examples- LEAGUE ONLY Reading fan bemoaning a lack of pens 2021-22...4 for. 2022-23...7 and counting. Had they played like a cross between Fulham last year, Burnley this year, Bielsa Leeds and Nuno Wolves then maybe but they're nothing like that, they're probably in a similar rate or creation to us over this and last season. Blackpool fan bemoaning a lack of pens 2021-22...7 for. 2022-23...1 and counting. I think they are not a terrible side to watch and under Critchley were decent but 7:1 fold?? Luton fan bemoaning a lack of pens 2021-22...6 for. 2022-22...1 and counting. I wasn't aware Luton were sharp and creative, they have their moments but by some metrics they were very similar to us last year albeit maybe some good runners. It's one thing not to know ours but to plead poverty for their own when being spectacularly wrong?? ? ?
  3. Forgot to mention those! Yes should have had one if not two v Watford, plus potential shouts v Sheffield United at 1-0 down and I forget the one v Stoke and when it was exactly. Birmingham with 5 and Reading with 7 is quite a mystery to me however...
  4. This is very fair and you've covered the counter arguments or some of them nicely. Not next season no, stranger things have happened but I've not talking about that to that but has he not earned the opportunity to see what he can do over a 2-3 year building period once the finances resolved? I know a 3 year plan was spoken about but I'm quite happy to see him get longer as things are now- if you think he'll choose not to extend that moves the dial. I completely agree on the data points fwiw. We arw probably hitting our level somewhat, over a season although v Sheffield United, Watford, Stoke and West Brom we actually across those 4 games had some top 6 baseline figures. Granted only one goal and one point was in fact gained but... Sheffield United Home- Shots For 16 Shots Against 4, Hit woodwork on 2 separate occasions in addition to the 3 shots on target...but lost 1-0. 57 pct possession as well! Watford Home- Shots For 9 Shots Against 2, drew 0-0. 53 pct possession! Drew 0-0. Stoke Home- Shots For 14 Shots Against 6, Hit woodwork at 1-0 up in addition to the 5 Shots on Target. had 51 pct possession yet lost 2-1! West Brom Home- Shots For 8, Shots Against 15. 51 pct possession but we rightly lost 2-0...Shots on Target was 3-4 and they hit woodwork ie their own woodwork not long after Phillips scored for them. 47 shots for, 27 again at yet 1 goal for 5 against. Of those woodwork we hit 3 times in that spell, they hit their own woodwork once yet none went in..think we had 13 shots on target yo their 10 as well as woodwork x 3 and then hitting theirs once not long after Phillips scores.
  5. I agree with the bulk of this post but the last line makes me wonder. Why not? You may well be right but he will finally have a bit of cash to play with this summer, significantly more if Scott goes. I was worried about whether he may try to replicate the Leicester 4-4-2 at some point but he has moved with the times, using 4-3-3 as he does with 3-5-2 or similar as a fallback- a very modern Plan A and B.
  6. Ah a penalty, do I remember those...
  7. Not City related but Hull are picking up a bit under Rosenior all told. Otoh Huddersfield were bottom 3 when taken over and still are. Toure didn't improve Wigan at all, McCarthy just one League game in charge so far so too early to say, Hudson didn't improve Cardiff. None for Critchley so far at QPR bounce wise, Neil with 26 pts from 23 at Stoke isn't exactly stellar. Critchley wasn't sacked. The two exemplary examples following accounts are of course Carrick and Corberan.
  8. Agreed. Possibly things are balancing our as there was a clutch of game a especially at home in which our efficiency was lacking but we do need to add some quantity in the medium term.
  9. That's fair. Yeah would be lying if I said I had no concerns but always deep down felt that if we continued putting in okay performances at home, that an improvement of some kind would come. Arguments with this subject can be polarised though for sure in both sides.
  10. The thing about the West Brom home game, yes it was poor and we were well beaten in the end. It felt to some like the final straw for a range of reasons...poor conversion rate at home especially (1 goal, 47 shots), 1 home win since the end of August, King in the back 3 despite his two errors etc v Stoke. There is a bit of revisionism Hoever because first half we really were not that bad. We gave West Brom a good game in the first half- Palmer made two major interventions and Phillips hit his own bar at 1-0 not long after putting them ahead. If thst goes in perhaps the dynamic changes, crowd suddenly get a lift and it's a different game.
  11. No presser afaik but some quick post match comments on Radio Bristol.
  12. He's had a very tough job to do and is doing it well.
  13. In fact, on Radio Bristol NP said he quite enjoyed the edge to it, as long as it didn't go too far he had few issues with it. Still strongly dislike in particular Cunningham however.
  14. It can be useful defensively, the extra centre back/player in the back 3. With Naismith in particular it gives us that flexibility yo switch in game when appropriate- could Williams fulfil a similar role?
  15. Although if we are looking up a little that is a gain on Swansea, further narrowing the gap to midtable.
  16. That's an excellent win. Apart from the Wells aberration, we did well to largely keep our heads under the provocation- NP perhaps substituted Wells just in time. Scott well what can we say gets better by the week. Nice to see Kalas getting some minute at last, Cornick and his debut- that bench strength looks really strong btw.
  17. What did Cunningham get for that challenge? PENALTY... To Reading..a magnificent 7 you might say, that's how many they have been awarded this season in the League. Cardiff missed one at Hull too.
  18. Must correct myself it's £30 away ticket cap. In that context not so bad plus the TV cash gap.
  19. BCFC did get a penalty today. Birmingham that is. 4 or is it 5 for them in the League this season?
  20. Well done Sykes!! 4 goals (all from open play ie non penalty goals) since he moved to that position.
  21. Although I'm interested in this 2nd bit simply because the PL have their £20 ticket cap thing for away fans- some comparable data would be interesting.
  22. Surely it just reduces the amount of cash he has to put in so we can keep going? We don't tend to make a profit and we don't tend to be cash breakeven in the main through our own devices. The prices feel a bit steep but in the context of football not so much- football is potentially overpriced but that's another thread.
