I don’t understand all the animosity towards Lee.  I was watching the highlights of the Man Utd match the other day (as you do) and I can’t find it in me to criticise someone who gave us that.  Ok, things didn’t work out, but it’s quite clear that he has Bristol City at heart.  Good luck to the bloke.

I’ve got Bristol city at heart too but it doesn’t make me Pep Guardiola.  Russel Osman gave us an away win at Liverpool. Joe Jordan got us a goalpost away from a league cup final.

I've mentioned a few times to mates that I thought we had LJ too early in his coaching career.  I still think he will achieve, a shame it wasn't with us as the guy is City through & through.

He did talk a load of bollocks though didn't he ?

One day he’ll “achieve” something. And he will. Then he’ll go onto “bigger and better things” and be found wanting again.

I get it alright, I just wondered what the numbers were. I'm well aware that the EFL gives incompetence a bad name and I wouldn't trust them to run a bath.

Apologies. Reading back My reply seems curt.

But the premise stands: Derby will survive and will flourish in one form or other. There won’t be overly adverse effects to their ongoing kerfuffle.

Too big to fail, unfortunately.  If they go, there’s a precedent.

This is longer than the Forsyth Saga. How many chances does Kirchner get? How many chances do Derby get? How many brown envelopes have the post office delivered to the EFL board?

You, and many on this thread don’t get it - Derby ain’t gonna be liquidated or suffer any other severe financial or operational consequences.

    They’ll survive.

    They’ll be ok.

Wishful thinking and waiting for the EFL to cut them adrift isn’t gonna do anything.

    They’ll get promoted next season.

Think it’s time for the EFL to let Derby go, cut the strings (the irony of MM having them on strings).

Sad as it is for the history / heritage of Derby, it’s fans, it’s employees, there needs to be hard deadline…and it needs sticking to.

Not gonna happen. Deserved, yes. But won’t happen. Any talk of it is fantasy.

But there seemed to be no planning on what to do when/if they got promoted. It was just "Don't worry, we're sort something out".

Which is the mindset that saw them relegated to the conference.

Wally is not the messiah and neither is Saint Barton. Legends in their own lunchtime.

Its pretty clear that fans of other clubs do not have the inborn pessimism of us Bristolians!

I think it’s realism more than pessimism. We aren’t going to turn into world beaters overnight. And many recognise that. I’m as happy with a committed squad of fighters as I am with ‘names’ even if the results are wildly different.

  8. Let’s not get carried away. Loooong way to go yet.

We’re still shopping in Poundland for bargains and there’s plenty in this division who can nip to Fortnum and Mason when they fancy something a bit special.

But let me add, if going cheap gets us team spirit and a collectiveness I’m happy with that.

    twice actually..........

Quite. No one should belittle Forests achievements. They’ve been quite successful in the grand scheme of things. I think people would be surprised just how big their fan base and potential fan base is.

If I don't see the needless 360 degree turn from Massengo when he gets possession again I will be glad. I get that people like his enthusiasm and drive, but he has zero product, doesn't follow his player defensively; and is often a bystander. Over rated, but as I said above all about opinions.?

Me too. I’m not disappointed if he leaves.

I trust you. What happens now?

He’ll lead the lemmings in a “city we’re coming for you”, cry, I expect some “sleeping giants” talk and they’ll be even bigger insufferable pricks than they normally are.

Why?  Because those of us Bristolians who are in our eighth decade remember a time when you could support both Bristol teams whilst favouring one of the two.

I remember, as a City fan for over 70 years, I got an enormous thrill seeing Rovers come back from 3-0 down at half time to Leeds, in old Division 2, to draw 3-3 at Eastville.  I remember going to cheer Rovers on, Divison 3, against Everton, in Division 1, in FA Cup at Goodison.

show respect everyone for a great achievement for one of the city’s clubs.

People who on here say they ‘hate’ Rovers, or worse, just take a moment to see how silly you look.  I know what John Atyeo would have thought of you!

I look to a time, or rather dream of a time, when Bristol provide both city clubs in a European Final

Deary me. How are those prawn sandwiches?

The Fewers will be intolerable for a month or so but they have a reality check waiting for them. League 1 won’t be quite the stroll in the park that they will be predicting tonight…..

Quite. Hardest league to get out of I’d say. Some big teams down there.
