You can’t critique a player on here
I think you can when it’s a reasoned non-agenda argument, there’s some that can’t wait to dive into a player when they make an error.

Mehmeti has engaged headless mode today. Looks a real liability defending

Mehmeti on for Cornick. Must be injured
Shame I thought he’d had a really bright first half. Clever player, so want him to make it here

Weak mental game once again. GK was almost 18 yards out, loads of time to take it round him. Poor mental choices once again.
Low in confidence, probably feeling the pressure especially when with the competition for places up front. Needs a goal

Bell showing why he isn’t a championship player. Extremely frustrating
And so it starts…. As The Coach you might want to embrace and support your talented youngsters..

The only good thing about that chance is that Sam’s got the beating of his man, more little through balls like that
-
Oh Sammy, the keepers on his ass and you hit it straight at him..

We've played to our strengths today which is pressing from the front and getting the ball forward quickly. Not been much possession based football.
We’ve slowed the tempo down a little to much I think, giving Boro time to find their passing game

Poor tactics by Manning.
Far too early for us to go into, and hold on to, a 2 goal lead. Better to do that in the 93rd minute!
We’re doing our best to put that to rights by being a little too intricate outside our penalty box..

Could we be on the verge of giving someone a hiding???

Let's hear it for today's whipping boy.....HARRRRRRRRRREEEEEE CORNICK..
Tanner is on the pitch too, as is Bell. Plenty of candidates for the whipping boy frenzy.
Lovely goal from Knight mind…

Cornick so far off the pace already!
But almost scored, although almost could be read as good and bad as far as Cornick is concerned…

Contrasts very well with Boros block red though. No visibility issues here.
Playing nicely so far as well.
Which I guess is the point. Just not pleasing to the eye.
Perhaps Max shares my view on them as he’s seemingly looking to avoid kicking out to a player in insipid yellow.

I appreciate it’s a bit of an irrelevant match thread comment, but I really dislike these yellow away shirts. Worst away kit in years IMO

Last time we played at forest in the league they weren't serving any alcohol at half time. When we questioned the bar staff in the concourse, the answer was that they choose not to do so for certain clubs.
Seems as though Forest have City earmarked as potentially causing problems, which might explain the many dogs?
I was going to put something to that effect in my post about the sister in law at Fulham, her feedback on City fans at Craven Cottage was that an element of our away support created more trouble than they had when Millwall were down there, and as much as our away following is very good, like all clubs there is definitely a darker element with a bit of a reputation which clearly club security teams are become more aware of in their match day planning.
-
My sister in law used to work in the security control room at Fulham acting as the liaison point between the club stewards and the old bill on match days. She was staggered at the amount of class A and class B that was confiscated on match days, it does seem that recreational drug use and football are becoming more intrinsic. Perhaps it’s a generational thing, in my son’s age group (early 20s), coke seems to be part of the night out, whereas when I was his age it was the rich man’s yuppie drug.
I suspect walking past a drugs dog as well as a disinterested pat down may well become the norm.

I didn’t mean for just this game, although I wasn’t aware of that rule.
In general, the lack of a quality striker is clearly an issue that wasn’t addressed. Conway blows hot and cold, Wells has seen his best years come and go.
Perhaps they tried and couldn’t get what they wanted, either through players preferring elsewhere or their clubs not wanting to sell important players. The sort of proven striker we require does not come cheap and is rarely available in Jan. As irritating as it might be the inability to secure a top end striker in Jan is not a stick to beat the club with, certainly it’s a fair one in Aug if we fail to bring anyone in, but not now.

Noone has to concur with anyone. Its a forum for opinion and discussion, not agreement.
Ok, I have the same opinion as the OP. I’m not sure the view he has needs a huge amount of discussion or even argument to align my thinking to his.
You’re free to express whatever you want, but forums are not echo chambers.

It is and he’s given one. And I think I’d concur with it.

Are some people thick or just on a wind up? They will know who the best penalty takers are because they will practise penalties. If Bell is taking one he’s in the top 5 penalty takers out of the 11 on the pitch. It’s pretty simple stuff
I’d say mostly preconceived agendas. Just as well Cornick didn’t miss his.

I can see the usual melts are online again tonight taking some glee about losing to a prem team.
Playing 120 mins on a Wed with a 2-3 hour drive back to Bristol before a trip to Boro on Sat does not bode well for a positive result, so there’ll be a few who will be creaming themselves in anticipation for a forum meltdown.

Feel like I’m relying on tomorrow’s newspaper for the result!
Old skool
It really is quite shambolic that there is no TV coverage at all for what should be the premier UK cup competition, even if it were a club stream. If it had been Man City then heaven and earth would have been moved to get some form of coverage.
