You miss my point...by being public it is accessible for managers, club officials players to hear. It's not a private conversation with mates.

The thought of players, managers and the like listening to it and seeing who it is so publicly makes me feel sorry for them.

Just my view...others see it differently. 👍

Perks of the job… it’s a bit like actors in that they shouldn’t read reviews (but they do), and after the guff that was served up on Saturday perhaps one or 2 of the team should be made to listen…

    @petehinton and @exAtyeoMax

You gave me confused looks. 😊

The point I'm making is these fans talking with such authority and opinion are giving views based on watching games and any info given out by the club.

They have no idea of the inner works and details.

If you were at work and had people giving very opinionated views without the full inside knowledge you'd be like wtf and laughing.

It’s no different to a bloke in the pub talking who’s got a mate who’s got a mate etc etc.

if it was output that was proposing to be “official” or something that required a paid subscription then you’d have a point, but this is just 3 or 4 contributors giving their own views post match, one of whom may or may not be getting fed titbits of information on a medium that is put out for voluntary public consumption.

Aaaaaaah why did I even bother!!

     It’s not the podcast!!!!!!

@BexhillRed and @Tim Monaghan please don’t make this about “opinions” and then be surprised when someone else has theirs!

To believe that the answer lies in “well don’t listen then” is ridiculous. Ian makes up a part of the whole listening experience and anyone is quite within their rights to question anything that’s said. 😟

And you’ve got a means to question anything, there is a fairly active You Tube comments section during the live recording.

My response was to more aligned another comment about fans podcasts overall and one of the contributors.

It just seems odd to be uber-critical on what is unofficial, subscription-fee free output produced by a group of individuals in their own time. It does not help that this thread has been turned into a kicking session for one of the more outspoken contributors, although not the fault of you nor the intention of you as the OP.

  4. This is peak OTIB, people moaning about a podcast that is public domain and that there is no compulsion to listen to.

Don’t like the concept of a fan’s podcast? Brill, great don’t listen.

    Don’t like a regular contributor? That’s fine, don’t listen.

Disagree with a view expressed, if listening live then get involved on the chat, if not then skip the audio on by 30 seconds..

  5. I think you’ve got to have divisive characters on fans podcasts just to make them interesting. Appreciate that one individual on FBC is very Marmite, but he can stimulate debate and at least not make it boring, he’s clearly doing something right in terms of getting the conversation going given the irritation that some on here clearly have.

Since OSIB fizzled out there is not a huge amount of choice for City podcasts, and I sort of stumbled across FBC after getting thoroughly bored with the 3 Peeps one as that might as well be produced by the club given as they more or less follow the party line.

I don’t agree with some of the opinions expressed on there from time to time,  but it’s mostly an entertaining listen, which is pretty much the whole point of it.

West Ham, Forest, Middlesbrough, Southampton was progression and they all trump a small setback today.

Thought some of the cheerleaders would be out after the game and you’ve proved me right.

No problem with taking the positives from those games, but there are plenty of examples where these “setbacks” are alarmingly consistent. It appears that Manning cannot set up his ever-increasing resources to beat dogged defensive teams, nor can he positively affect games where he has been tactically out thought or got his game plan wrong, that’s concerning, and perhaps an example of why coaches don’t necessarily make good managers.

I think we need to take a step back and look at the bigger picture.

We are undoubtedly progressing, albeit slowly and you are bound to get good performances with the odd poor performances thrown in.... especially at the end of a mad run of games which we have had.

We need to get the number and regularity of those poor performances reduced and that will happen.

I take the positive view that we have shown in the last 4 or 5 games that we can pay brilliantly and beat anyone on our day - and those type of performances will be repeated going forward....it's the same.players and same coach.

You can take a step back and look at the bigger picture but the standard City sub plot remains the same, we cannot beat teams in the mould of Millwall, Preston, Brum and indeed QPR today. The question has to be asked is it the players, the game plan, the lack of plan B, the usual continuation of plan A but this time with substitutes, or our head coach got tactically outwitted again…

It’s not Manning’s fault that Knight and Williams decide to have games where they can’t pick a pass to a colleague that’s 5 yards away, but he has to take the hit for the game plan and the ability not to make any change that has a positive impact on the game.

    Exactly.

Leeds weren’t a team that sat in and we were equally as garbage.

we could have lost 4/0. We had no attacking threat. Bringing on Cornick instead of Sykes was madness when we needed to make  something happen!

We were awful all on our own with or without the way QPR set up. They were just better than us!

I think Syke’s little 15 minute appearance tells you all you need to know about why Cornick came on instead of Sykes. Not even close to match fit.
