  1. The obvious replacements on that side would have been Mebude and Roberts, not sure that really would have strengthened. I think we have to look at the defending generally, Burns just caused the panic. you give a team like that a head of steam and they’ll go for it, 28 points including tonight from being behind in games is staggering.
  2. Not with tonight’s referee. Loved playing to the crowd
  3. Burns did the frightening but both goals conceded on the right as result of McCrorie going walkabout and Sykes not being fit.
  4. Roberts has not got the pace. Would have made little difference frankly. Sykes and MCCrorie at fault for 2 of those goals and Sykes was only on the pitch because Cornick was injured
  5. Sorry disagree, I’m not a Manning fan but you’re just playing to your predisposition. We played well for most of that game, it takes something for Pring to have been beaten for pace and Burns made all the difference. Difficult to see what changes could have been made.
  6. Not sure what he could have done with what was on bench, I know you don’t like him, but tonight is not down to Manning. Burns pace has been the undoing.
  7. Pretty much, that’s the depressing thing. I think I’d rather much we played like shit and lost rather than having the lead twice…
  8. As much as I’d like a first class ticket, nothing of this is down to him… Shit defending and a very good set of subs to come on.
  9. Cmon city… just hold on to piss them off now…
  10. Amazing what a byline cross can do for a striker…..
  11. I think his old man was a fairly regular itk poster towards the end of his time here
  12. He was a bit part player at the time that found he mojo later on, plenty to had a dig at Tinnion with but not that
  13. Think it was an injury, not a change for the sake of it
  14. Cornick signalling to the bench and gesturing to hamstring
  15. Have we just witnessed a miracle?? A Mehmeti goal?? Dear whatever omnipotent figure you might follow….
  16. I know he can lose his head, but I think he’s more than capable of a legal looking payback challenge. Going to be interesting watching that little match up in the 2nd half
  17. Naughty foot left on him. You can see why he was slightly incensed..
  18. Ah, so that fact that that we are not actually creating any clear chances or giving our strikers any form of service is actually not due to whatever style Manning is trying come up with, it’s actually down to the form of our strikers and TC in particular??? We don’t need to be stuffed by 4 or 5 a game at present, one or perhaps two goals against us (assuming we get lucky from a corner) would suffice for our opponents to get all 3 points at present. I’m not one for attacking the poster, but you’ve got to be somewhat delusional if you think that the concerns that are being manifested by a large number of posters on here of late are made irrelevant and not worthy of debate simply by a 21 year old striker not being in form…. I do admire your panglossian optimism however unfounded.
  19. It’s a forum of made up of seeming mostly unhappy punters, someone starts a thread with something that amuses / irritates / annoys depending of the previous results or interview / press article and people chose to read and interact. If the thread gets some traction then it flies, if there is no interest then it disappears. In the past the criticism has been player focussed and you could pick your scapegoat depending on the game, so we’ve had combinations of Tanner, O’Leary, Williams, Bell, Naismith, Cornick, and more recently Mehmeti even Dire as being the aim for people’s ire, now it’s Manning’s turn. Clearly some of it will be a lingering dissatisfaction arising from the way in which the previous manager was dispensed with, but some and I think this covers a lot of the recent posts (rightfully in my view) will be people who are pissed off with performances, tombola team selections, incoherent tactics and regimented 60 min substitutions. I'm not sure it’s fair to simply dismiss questions or opinions about Manning as some form of Daily Mail-esque Meghan Markle agenda, that’s the perks of being the manager / head coach of a club in a very poor run of form. I’m sure he’s got more important things to consider like selecting what player to play totally out of position to demonstrate his coaching genius than to read the thoughts of some “made-up-random-city-related name” anonymised account on the forum. The forum remains a place for people to vent and occasionally for there to be some interesting and thought provoking debate, and for me at this time Manning remains fair game.
  20. TBH I can see the OPs logic about getting beat, sometimes an ineffective and hopeless manager needs a game to but them out of their misery, 7-1 at Swansea is an excellent and appropriate example of this. That said with the run of games coming up, unless the club have already spoken to someone and got them primed, then there won’t be enough time to recruit a new manager and have them get any sensible work on the training ground to make any improvement on the mess that Plastic Pep has made to this squad and is unlikely to change any outcome, so I think the die has been cast with regard to us getting further into a relegation scrap. So it’s up to Manning and his wealth of experience in coaching academy U23s where results are irrelevant to get us out of this mess.
