James is a good player who had a bad game on Saturday. But then again its not as if he has anyone to pass the ball to.

King bless him, is sadly past it. A decent squad player who might be good drifting into the box if we are chasing a goal but a 90 min player, no chance. Totally anonymous for 75 mins, went off injured and put us down to 10 men, nothing changed as we were already basically playing with 10.

I think King is another in the Skuse mould, being quietly effective in the right place at the right time but without getting into the limelight of being that box to box, all-action tackling, shots from 30 yards type midfielder. Fitness you can certainly argue at times, but Sat when we ended up with 2 recognised midfielders at one stage who are not known for pace and agility against what seemed to be swarms of Bournemouth players, it's understandable why both were ineffective. I suspect HMN / Williams (without injury) have would have made some difference on Sat, perhaps not to result, but to make us a little more combative in the middle, and certainly not given them such a free reign.

Interview was spot on, comfortably beaten by a better side.

Not much point bringing on Scott to just chase the ball around. We barely touched it all match and that doesn't suit Scott at all.

Personally I think Scott has been a bit overawed by senior football of late and has pretty much been ineffective since his initial spark, although in fairness wide right is perhaps not his best position, bringing him on yesterday would have served no benefit to the team or him personally from a confidence perspective. I think he could have done with a half season loan into L1 or 2, to get him playing senior football more regularly. He’s a talent, and I think he’ll be a very very good player, just not yet.

Scored 7 in 11 this season and has been superb. One bad game doesn’t mean he is stealing a living.  Wish we had him

I stand corrected if that’s case, he was utter shit against a very generous defence today.  Perhaps he’s better when he’s got to work for it..

As I have noted in another thread

. Why Wells on for Williams rather than Scott or Palmer. It makes no sense at all.  I am done with any sense in playing Wells wide ever. No point at all play him central or don't play him and sell. Scott or Palmer every time in that role. I like NP he will do well I hope. But this Wells issue is now beyond a joke or any sense at all.

Whilst I agree, I don’t think NP had much choice, Scott has played wide, but of late has looked overawed and maybe not quite ready, Palmer is pretty much wasted wide. Maybe the hope was for Wells and Wiemann to interchange and be fluid and give Tanner some support, but we never had enough of the game for that to become apparent.

    And that’s the point.

We made it easy for them. Far too easy. Because we were poor. Very poor.

And I’m still struggling to understand how they’ve progressed to the positions they’ve been in and are in whilst we’ve, at best, been left in their wake.

Bankrolled, a couple of years in the Prem, plus parachute payments, more useful last season when no other Championship team other than those also of parachute payments had any sort of revenue. They can easily buy anyone in this league and still get change. They’ve not outright bought success, but they’ve used their money properly. Support and Ground wise they are arguably a smaller club, financially in terms of what they can spend they’re in a different league.

You think solanke looks like he is stealing a living as a footballer after today?

Yep, looked hopeless as a finisher which is largely his job, had they had a better striker then it would have been 7 or 8. Genuinely their poorest player. Never really rated him, and nothing he did today changes my mind.

How long did it take from Kallas wiping the ball with the towel to Bentley letting it pass through his flailing hands and pick it out the net?

How many crosses did Bournemouth put to the far post before it worked and Lowe got on the end of one?

Bournemouth were nothing exceptional. Even with parachute payments and their stellar signings.

    Simply we were woeful. Again.

The over riding thing for me I guess is how Bournemouth have progressed as a football team over the past few decades, whilst we’ve gone backwards.

Bet Lloyd thanks his lucky stars he made the move when he did.

    Nothing exceptional?

We clearly have very different views on football, easily the best Championship team I’ve seen this year, although we made it easy for them. Tactically spot on, overloads all over the place, really clever quick passing, a cut above us.

Spot on mate. He’s absolutely pointless wen he plays like he did today. Offered absolutely nothing.

He’s played like that most of the season, seems to have lost his mojo, his first few games under Holden he almost played the quarterback role just sitting behind and making things tick and looked really impressive, this season it looks like he’s stealing a living as a footballer, perhaps not as much as Solanke on today’s viewing, but he doesn’t even look like a league 1 midfielder on present form

Our next accounts will be horrendous so there is not likely to be money to spend for some time yet unless we sell imo. We may be stuck with what we have.

Brings me back to the unfairness of parachute payments, all championship clubs outside of those relegated from the Prem, have had a season of virtually no revenue, yet the parachute payments continued. Have the parachute payment for 1 year then back to your own generated revenue, not 3 years worth…

A bit depressing, I know we played one of the best sides in the division today and we probably should have expected todays result, it's puzzling though that we have managed to win 4 away and some of the teams we have played at home this season you would have thought we could at least have won a couple of them.

Today was so lacklustre all round, we’re always shit the 1st game back after an international break, but I honestly would not be surprised if we read about some sort of bug has gone through the team this week, whilst the payers can’t always compete on quality, they can nearly always compete on effort and work rate, today was totally lacking both.

And who have we played? I’d love you to be manager at work. Well you’ve been shit for ages and this lot are quite good so I’m expecting f’all from you.

Mmm, best away record in the league and we’re shit?

This lot are different gravy to us, and that’s just it, slow to get going, lacklustre throughly, went a goal behind and that’s it, not currently good enough.
