I noticed the beginnings of some nice little planned movements between O'Dowda, Semenyo, and Pring yesterday, so although O'Dowda didn't have the best game I'd stick with all three.
First half in particular it was noticeable a couple of times as Pring advanced, O'Dowda would run infield dragging his man while Semenyo ran out into the space for the easy ball, then looked to play it back in. Simple planned moves but we haven't been seeing it so much this last 18 months, and it'll improve with time. They actually looked like they had a plan to advance and knew what each other would be doing.

Two 18 year olds and a 19 year old in the starting lineup. You love to see it!

Do you think the change in focus was due to the keeper though, the team he had in front of him, or the instructions he was given as a result? Bit of them all?
I know it's going to sound down on Max, which I don't want to be as I like him, but one game with a very different looking team is a bit of a poor sample to draw comparative differences in my opinion. I agree with your other post about the style (Bentley retreating) though.
I wonder if the change in keeper partly drove the change in team, or visa versa. Coincidence maybe?
Would be good to see Max with Martin up front (or Bentley with that team) and see what happens. I seem to remember when I first saw Bentley thinking how good and quick his distribution was - might have just been in compassion to his predecessor though.
Have to admit my impression of his distribution was a bit worse than those graphics so thanks for posting them!

I thought O'Leary did well and seems a a safer option. Calmer demeanour, more considered and accurate distribution ( throw out to Semenyo 2nd half on the right wing an example). Bentley is probably more capable of the spectacular but the flip side of that is he's got a howler in him.
O'Leary needs a few games now to see if he can really own the shirt given the chance.
Not sure about the distribution so far personally - it worried me a fair bit especially in the second half. We had a few ballooned up high nowhere near anyone, and a scuffed low one we were lucky one of our defenders managed to flick on. In the first half I thought there were a few nervy moments we just got away with playing it back and forth at the back under a bit of pressure.
Thought he did well overall though, and came and punched a few I doubt Bentley would have which was nice.

Yes, said the same. Felt we needed fresh legs, especially with AW, as he was getting too wound up. Could’ve brought on HNM for Semenyo in injury time
Agree about Weimann. I rate him but I've noticed quite a few times this season he seems to be losing his head, far more than he was in the past.
There was one point second half where he was flat on the ground just lying there incredulously while the game went on around him. Get up and play!
Same thing with constantly following the ref around and shouting at him - I understand there's a degree of gamesmanship but he's taking it too far currently in my opinion, and just looks out of control.

Man City 27 points clear in a calendar year is just insane
They're not really - it's sorted by ppg, not total points.
To avoid this thread getting totally derailed I won't name who, but one team are only 12 points behind...
(unless you meant in the PL only!)

From that twitter thread linked:
Average 1st team wage is 16k? Can that really be true?! I know average isn't always the best measure as it can be heavily skewed, but as far as I know we don't have any 40k+'ers who would do that.
Looking at that squad, and who there has some value that's unbelievable.

Bailey Wright starting - remembering the service he did for us, playing our of position through injury at the expense of his international career.
Also that weird retroactive red card away at Fulham
Yep, he played right back against both Man Utd and Man City I'm pretty sure. Right of a back three against Arsenal now 3 years later - not too bad!

@Robbored thinking they've actually got off rather lightly compared to his ordeal

Been critical of Semenyo in the past but he's been really bright today and a great threat.
How can that ball flash across the goal with Martin, Weimann, and Wells on the pitch and not one of them is there?!

Hardly another pasting at home if it's happened once this season.
Thought you might have left this boring stuff behind with your old username

Great composure by Semenyo to get a head up and put it on a plate for Weimann. Certainly something he has improved on from last season where he was physically very impressive but often lacked that cutting edge in the final third.
Yeah must admit I still half expected that pass to be travelling at chest height at around 70mph... perfectly placed and weighted though. All credit to him!
