  1. Apart from two stupid mistakes we are actually playing pretty well
  2. That was superbly done and the crowd were impeccable - shame that football didn't get the chance to do the same.
  3. You missed my point or I wasn’t clear enough! What I mean is if the keeper is in the ‘right’ position he will win the ball every time - and if he’s fouled he deserves a free kick. If he’s not in the right position and when he jumps he can’t reach the ball - then both he and the attacker should be able to jump together without the ref blowing up for a foul every time and protecting the keeper more than protecting the attacker. The keeper always seems to get the free kick!
  4. Two different tackles - Joao taken out for the penalty and the one where the Ref should have shown a Yellow was a few mins later. Ona different note - the way City are playing at the moment we look streets ahead of both of these teams! Long may it continue!!
  5. Ref, David Coote, made a good decision for the penalty - quick and decisive but then failed to book a Stoke defender who upended Ince when nowhere near the ball! Again shows massive lack of consistency of good decisions
  6. It’s the mentality of the person - they are trying to find a reason NOT to give the goal - rather than a reason to GIVE the goal. Its a contact sport and the protection keepers get, and have got for some years now, needs to stop - if they jump with their hands up high to catch a ball no one can get near them - but if they are not in the right position then they need to take the rough with the smooth!
  7. And whilst we have other strikers none will be as good as we all believe Semenyo will be! Great that it looks like we are keeping him! If he keeps fit there is no telling how many goals he can score this season - and that maybe worth significantly more than £15 or even £20m!!
  8. Talk Sport have just reported Bournemouth are after Nathan Redmond from Southampton. So hopefully they are successful and that finished their interest in Semenyo!!
  9. I raised this with Jerry a few years ago and he admitted, having spoken to the media people, the brightness of the advertising is measured by a percentage - if I remember rightly the setting was something like 30% for home games. I too sit in the middle of the lower Lansdown and agree the brightness early on was bad - especially the white and reds and can’t believe that our coaching team are able to see the players across the far side (Dolman side) of the pitch as to us they were mere shadows! Bearing in mind we have the most expensive seats in the house (excluding hospitality) it’s really poor that this hasn’t been sorted. Come on City get this resolved once and for all!
  10. Regarding Wells - since he’s had a run in the team he looks confident, happy and seems pleased to be here. It was even good to see him really annoyed at being subbed on Sunday - which showed he has the hunger again to score goals! Don't know if anyone else saw it - but as the players were walking around the pitch at the end Klöse put his arm around Nakhi as if he was consoling him for coming off. So yes - looks like a happy camp, mixed with hunger!
  11. Absolutely - but there isn’t the money for VAR so surely this is better than having to appeal the day after (in respect of erroneous Red Cards) and perhaps helps getting penalty decisions correct more often! We have cameras- why not use them!!
  12. What I find really frustrating at these type of situations is that if Sykes challenge hadn’t been out of control and he had still been sent off we would have been appealing the decision this morning. So then what happens …. The EFL review the camera footage to decide whether or not the ref got it right!! So what’s stopping the 4th official reviewing the footage at the time and if there is something he believes will help the ref make the correct decision then he is invited to look at the footage - if the footage doesn’t catch the incident we carry on as we are! Surely this is better than getting many dubious (red cards, penalties etc) decisions wrong!
  13. Regarding NP’s comments on refereeing you have to admit we don’t seem to get many of the 50/50 decisions - or even 60/40. The penalty at Hull was a joke The penalty yesterday was one that VAR probably wouldn’t over turn if it had been given, and wouldn’t have given it if it hadnt been awarded by the ref. The sending off yesterday was as clear as day - the Wigan guy kicked out, and, made contact with JW - there is only one outcome the Rules say should happen - that’s a Red Card - absolutely no explanation as to why it wasn’t! City could easily have won at least two of their first three games - I thought Ellis Simms (Sunderland) was awesome at times, but if Chris Martin had converted the tap in that game could easily have been 3-3. We could be sat here with 7 points. Some of the kids coming through look really good and on any other day Tommy Conway converts the header yesterday and we win 2-1. Everything is definitely not doom and gloom - I’m looking forward to the next two homes games! Lets hope for some more positive play, decent defending and ref’s who don’t bottle making the correct decisions!
  14. Conway seems a promise - but he should have had two today and that puts up comfortably in the lead. Just gotta be more clinical
  15. We just cannot keep a clean sheet Where is the mentality of keeping the ball out of the net and out of the penalty area at all times As Owers says on RB - just kick the thing out when you get a chance!
  16. Even the guy on Sky said it was dodgy - and he can't stand City
  17. Does anyone know if there will be any radio commentary?
  18. If you watched the game v FGR that had composure and looked very positive. This team is made up of v few experienced players and a bunch of kids!
  19. Louise Gould - no relation as far as I can see. Came from Celtic TV - but agree - not very fluent!
  20. Unlike the first game today the midfield are letting Exeter control the game. We need to push Exeter back and gain control of midfield. …… if they can!
  21. I think Sykes’s pace is deceiving - but can’t disagree he did get past the keeper quite easily!
  22. Kicked off about 2:08. Pompey were late out onto the pitch.
