Nostalgia - it ain’t what it used to be.
But in all seriousness, whilst we may as a club have a tendency to fixate on the past (I do agree wishing former players happy birthday on social media is bizarre), we’ve little of note presently to talk about!
Seems patently obvious we are more at risk of going down than up under the new regime and the board couldn’t organise a piss up in a brewery.
People long for those tangible, yet fleeting, moments where our club really did shine in the sun. Because for the vast majority of the time, we languish in a monumental mass of manure.

I know what you mean, Roberts goal is still high up there clearly. I think that was the loudest I’ve ever heard Ashton Gate, it felt like the stands were shaking! That game, the Palace game and the Man Utd game are probably my top three!
It genuinely felt like the ground was going to come apart at the seams. The moment the ball hit the net from Roberts foot - sheer euphoria.

Good grief, hope he’s alright.
I understand he’s already undergone heart surgery following his previous collapse? Very Worrying that he’s had a subsequent collapse despite this.

Massively inconsistent performance from the referee. Very strange decisions.

Sorry all, a potentially daft question - but a situation I’ve not done before. My printer is out of action and I have a ticket for a friend for tomorrow’s match.
Will it work if I show the ticket on my phone? Or do I need to scramble to find a printer?
-
No.
It’s incredibly obvious NP, CF and the previous coaching set up had us over performing.
LM and his team have us under performing.

Bit of a personality vacuum, isn’t he?

Is The Spaniard JL/SL? Strange posts this evening…

Not just that, but from the club-produced North Korea TV style interview with BT the implication is that he’s instrumental in deciding the over arching style of play woven from the first team right the way through to the youngest academy lads.
So how much of it is boring, boring, Manning-Ball and how much of it is BT’s vision?
Either way, it stinks.

This is taking me back to the LJ days where I’d realise through the match that I’d spent more time scrolling through OTIB than actually watching it.
Haha, great shout tbf

Criticised the shop set up and management earlier this season, and was myself then criticised by posters on this forum
It’s a funny old game.

I will renew but if LM doesn’t achieve significant progress over NP then it’ll be a break period for me I think.

This is the key thing for me!
Like others have done, I've had a search and there's very little he's actually been sent and I wouldn't say any of it constituted abuse. (Unsure if he has his Private Messages Open)
His Burns tweet yesterday was odd and very antagonistic given the current circumstances and Complaints about lack of spending and money not being reinvested. The whole communication coming from the club recently has been so out of touch and lacking in genuine empathy and understanding as to what it's like to be a supporter.
Yesterday felt like 'I'm right, you're all wrong, it's my ball and I'm going home', they've all created a rod for their own backs and genuinely concerned we've now been set up to fail. (Not intentionally I must add!)
Spot on.

I have no idea of what the club's plans are for the future, but the initial flurry of posts covering "Oh look here's Liam taking training again" seems to have tailed off.
Not sure of the communication strategy moving forward, but while we are moving towards another season of mid table mediocrity, will we still be pushing the mantra of hope and expectations of the current squad. Something tells me not, as then they themselves become accountable for the lack of investment in the squad given to NP.
Fun times ahead.....
Also spot on.

Don't buy the Festive Pasty.
They are disgusting, had a couple of bites and chucked it away. Got me a curry pie instead, very nice.
Agree, the curry pie is decent - but sells out quick.
Will take note of your advice re the festive pasty. One to steer clear of

But how many times have you felt “entertained” in the last 4 years.
Probably count it on one hand, I’d guess.
So it’s not a symptom of the new manager, it’s a malaise that’s been here for half a decade now! That’s fair. I think I was enthused for periods of NPs tenure, but agree it wasn’t consistent.
It could be endemic of the wider shift in how football is played now. Having said that, I don’t mind watching the likes of Arsenal and Man City employ possession based football as they have the players to execute it.
How many times yesterday did we try that short goal kick routine for MOL to fluff the diagonal ball?

Fair enough.
Personally I think the football I’ve watched for 4 years has been dull. And I quite enjoyed the game yesterday.
Each to their own.Indeed. It’s a game of opinions after all.
At the end of the day I’ll still be at the gate supporting the team. I’ll still buy a pint and a pasty, and have a browse in the club shop.
But I have to say I am really finding it difficult to be enthused about the actual game at the moment. Take the social aspect and the pre-match buzz away and I’m not sure the footballing entertainment would be enough to justify the ticket cost presently.

Was happy to dish it out and act Billy big time on there when things were going well, but couldn’t handle a bit of pressure and scrutiny.
Has BT turned into MA?

His interviews strike me as something the bot/AI on FM would say.
Starting to think Manning is just a Lansdown-created NPC.

Well. No. There were a number of attacks that we built with 20+ passes.
The spell we had in the 15 minutes before half time was full of possession, probing and creating openings. It’s (imo) dull to watch.
But many will like this style of football.
It isn’t for me.

I did think walking out of AG yesterday that Norwich’s subs helped to influence the game and swing the result in their favour.
I’m really not sure what any of our subs did to try and counter this and swing it back in our favour. Cornick can take a long throw? That’s about it really.
Very uninspiring.
-
Can I also say, the atmosphere today - flat as a pancake. And that is imo 100% because the football on offer is bland and unambitious.

That was, for large portions of the game, a very dull watch. Not overly impressed with “Manning-Ball” so far.
This squad is no where near top 6 material.

Nothing surprises me.
This squad is nowhere near top 6, felt that all season, laughable that the club try and sell that line.
Looks like Nige had us playing as a sum greater than our parts.
Feels a step backwards on the whole with Manning so far - championship showing again it’s not a place to find your way and test the waters as an inexperienced manager and he’s finding out the hard way.
I’m not angry with him, although he’s got to take huge responsibility for that today - he’s going to have to find his feet very, very quickly with a big December coming up.
Sums up my thoughts on things, and todays match, quite succinctly

That is such a poor penalty decision. So, so poor.
