Economou
Just noticed a great clip on Youtube of City v Man City in '65/'66 with the MOTD cameras reporting on the promotion battle at the top of Div 2. Ken Wolstenholme commentating and a great Savino cross for a headed equaliser by Clarke (?) Ken wasn't sure. Also no Dolman stand. Game finished 1-1 but got me wondering if we have ever won when featured on MOTD ! Can only recall 0-0 draws with Leicester City in the late 70's and Preston when we'd plummeted to Div 3 under Bobby Houghton plus a 1-2 defeat by Boro in the old first Div. I'm sure there must have been the odd victory though.
vincent_bcfc
Also the 2-2 draw with boro was the featured game a couple of years back. What a game ... Almost felt like a win, almost was!

Old Dazzler
Off the top of my head I can remember the following:- Winning 1-0 against Liverpool 1978/79 Joe Royle winner. Winning 2-1 at Bolton first game of 1978/9 Tom Ritchie got at least 1. Chelsea 3-1 at home in the FA Cup around 1990. I think the 1-0 win over Man City in 1977 was on MOTD - Garland winner. I remember going to the Spurs game in 1976 , Keith Fear with a late winner. Went on a train chartered by the club that took us to the station just a walk away from the ground. I think the main reason for the game being on MOTD was that all other games in the top flight were postponed due to international call ups. Spurs fans were a bit naughty! NTDS Are you sure your source is 100% accurate? I am pretty sure that the City-Liverpool game of 1978 was on, but that City 4-1 wn over York was definitely on MOTD - I distinctly remember it as that was the only Home game of the promotion season that I had to miss, so was pleased to be able to watch it on the Saturday night, and this was in the days prior to ITV doing the Big Match on a Saturday night, which was around 1980

Atlanta_Red
I seem to remember a match against York when Tom Ritchie notched a hat trick being featured on match of the day. Probably the promotion season. I also remember reading a newspaper column soon after that MOTD appearance (Angry column or something like that) when someone wrote in about that match, and asked why England couldn't play as well. The columnist (Peter someone) told the letter-writer to take it easy, because even England could beat York.
