Malasian Buisness Man Say 90 Million Pounds Not Coming My Way? Me Not Coming Then

Recommended Posts

The reports I've read suggest the Malyasians are to invest £6m. Given their debt (again reports I've read estimate up to £30m, much of it owed to Sam Hamman of course via a somewhat mysterious company) and the fact that they have already spent next season's season ticket money (though not on paying their taxes), £6m would not make much difference I would have thought. A fire sale seems inevitable. Shame. :innocent06:

All gone.

Sheff Wed had a US investor lined up whether they satyed up or not. When they didn't then the price was massively reduced.

If all Cardiff are getting is the £6m Chinapig quotes then that will be less than they have lost this year. Not looking good, another Ridsdale success story. Where will he bestow his mighty talents next?

£6m it is apparently but with a rescheduling of their debts. Still hard to see where the money comes from to meet repayments without substantial cost cutting though. I repeat, the season ticket money is already gone.

Thing is, the guy who gave the interview yesterday which reassured the Cardiff fans is the guy putting the £6 Mill in. His mate is th eone with the REAL money and, as far as I know, he hasn't said anything about it since the final whistle

Simple economics.

Cardiff is a rugby town

Cuts will see the end of welsh subsidies so local fans will be hit hard in the or pockets

Gates at legoland won't improve and probably decline

Local business don't make enough cash to support decent Corp packages

Income needs to be greater than expenditure

Debt repayment alone will be more than gate receipts let alone wages

Ccfc look set for years of decline

If the malaysians invest they would be totally mad. It's a club with ZERO potential for making their money back. They might give it one season but will soon come to this conclusion and off they will go. Also they will still be checking the finances with a tooth comb so the deal is not done yet. Thursday is the day it's supposed to through. We will wait and see.....

Just think back; when Sam H left Wimbledon he looked at City as his next venture, but decided we weren't right for him and took his "investment capital" to Cardiff instead.

10 years ago Cardiff were in the bottom division and now they've finished 4th in the Championship and reached the play off final, but at what cost?

The 6m includes the amount they have already invested to cover day to day costs - players wages etc. I would think that has seriously eaten into the 6m - as much as half I would think, and they'll get 30% of Cardiff City for that.

If that's all the investment amounts to then they'll be in the same position before the start of the season unless they get rid of players for cash - lots of cash.

The real money man is Vincent Tan and he isn't showing signs of being keen to invest, especially after Blackpools deserved win yesterday. But if he does decide to get involved, then Cardiff could fly.

Tell that to QPR fans. They have the richest owner in Mittal and their signings so far are Mackie (who we turned our noses up at) and Leon Best. Two freebies from relegated clubs. Fly!

It's academic really, I can't see a bloke like Vincent Tan getting involved - the Premier League is everything in that neck of the woods and he could get involved with most Premier League clubs if he wants so why bother with Cardiff ? It's the other guys who are interested in Cardiff, not him - and they don't have anywhere near the money he could invest, which is why they're trying to get him involved.

If they had won yesterday....sh1t or bust comes to mind.

Just typed that exact phrase on another forum. Ridsdale is the worst gambler in the world. If he went into a casino with a suitcase of money he'd leave two hours later in his underpants.

That would be a good signing. Sadly for them it was Leon Clarke, whom we also turned our noses up at. Leon Best is at Newcastle - for the time being.

Chinapig, that article is nearly a month old. Its old news i'm afraid. The Malaysians will not invest. That interview after the game with Dong me hung go or whatever his name is told me exactly that, he's outa there!

If they were going to bail Cardiff out it would have been done by now, a small £2m tax bill is a drop in the ocean to them, but they are shrewd people, trust me, you dont get that rich by chucking cash about willy nilly.

Anyone paying a £2m tax bill for Cardiff will be a fool, and anyone who has £2m is not a fool so defacto Cardiff will be wound up and if they are not i'll go ******* ape shit and have HMRC investigated.

it was all about getting promoted to pay off the debts, not to spend too much and probably get relegated and even the Cardiff fans knew that and i'm sure the Malaysian guy was only in it for that as well, Anyway we will see. i've got absolutely no sympathy for them at all, I hope they do go into administration and get a huge points deduction, I think that especially this season they have been taking the piss and now it's time to pay.

It seems an unspecified chunk of the £6m has already been forthcoming and spent while the article is unequivocal on the rescheduling of debt repayments (though I would be amazed if HMRC has agreed any such thing and they are not specifically mentioned). The balance of the £6m might be forthcoming but it would be nowhere near enough and like you I can't see why any further major investment would follow. All of which means they would soon run out of money to pay wages and debts. The fact that Dave Jones refused to commit himself yesterday suggests at the very least that he is uncertain as well.

Of course, factor in that Risdale has agreed to sell his shares, so that the Malaysian could takeover, I am pretty sure they would have agreed 2 prices one for both scenarios.

I have little doubt that the club will be bought from Risdale, the Malysians will at least own the stadium and the players, seeing as the stadium can't be sold (I think), I would imagine the Malysians would sell the players asap and then put the club into administration before the start of the season.

Worse case scenario is league one football and rebuilding via their academy????

If I was Chopra that's what my money would be on.....

I understand Risdale has been offered 10p per share and he wants 45p.

..maybe they're sitting on some Welsh gold ?

In which case the man they need (a financial genius) is available right now a Scot called -Gordon Brown- (remember him?)...

He'll get 'em a good price at the right time if they decide to sell ..... He done a great job with our gold for us :englandsmile4wf: - I'm sure he'd do the same for the Welsh!

Isn't their stadium actually owned by the council, though?

I thought they sold Ninian Park for development and agreed a 100 year lease at £1 a year rent with Cardiff council and that's why Cardiff Blues rugby also play there?

All this talk about their debt being "only" £15m is utter nonsense, the Langston finance loan from Sam the sham was £31m and as they went to court to defer having to pay all of that back in one go last year and have a quoted wage bill of £1m a month (!) they must owe a lot more than the figure Risdale is saying.

Oh dear..... could this be bad news.... for us!

http://news.bbc.co.u...ity/8706910.stm

Maybe.

Although in that quote he says "Try his best". If you invite someone to your party and they say they will 'try their best' to make it it usually means 'I'm not coming but don't hate me'.

Not saying they won't bail Cardiff out but 'trying your best' to be successful is not as strong as, for example, 'we will do all we can to be successful'.

Not all indigenous Malay appreciate Vincent Tan being called Malaysian, he's 2nd generation Chinese to them, which makes him Chinese, BBC should do their research.

Like many Chinese 2nd, 3rd gen's in Malaysia he's got rich exploiting the Malay people and their country. Complex place to do business in Malayisa, you need an indigenous Malay as a front man on the board, they don't have to do shit, but you need one if you wanna work in KL in public sector expecially, otherwise forget about it. It's so badly corrupt, and Tan is no saint.
